Just walking in the door, this beautiful home will cause your jaw to drop. High windows everywhere bringing in the stunning beauty of the Colorado outdoors, soaring ceilings throughout, and a massive deck on three sides, there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all appliances necessary to make you feel as though you were in your own kitchen. Our two granddaughters, aged 6 and 7, thoroughly enjoyed the huge loft as their own private play area. The owners even provided some toys and plenty of favorite DVD's to keep them entertained. The hottub was a favorite spot during the cool nights. And it was truly memorable to gaze out the master bath window every morning at the two large antlered bucks who came to graze, only a few feet away. While being up high on the mountain with plenty of privacy, this home is close to grocery stores and gas stations. The owners provide helpful advice for restaurants and activities to make your stay even more enjoyable. Having Wi-Fi within the home is a definite plus. If you decide to pull yourself away from this stunning mountain retreat, I highly recommend taking a drive, south to north, on the Guanella Pass. The entrance is not far from this home. The Aspen leaves were brillant yellow on our trip, the streams run clear blue, and snow dusted the top elevations of 12-14,000 ft. The Pass brings you to Georgetown, CO, a darling old mining town that boasts train rides to a silver mine along with an eclectic group of small shops, wineries and restaurants. You can return via I-70 and Evergreen, another lovely mountain town offering even more to do. This was a spectacular trip for our extended family of 8 and this Majestic Mountainside Log Home was the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature and the outdoors. If you bring good shoes you can even hike/climb the mountain behind the house, as did our two sons and the 7 yr old granddaughter. The owners go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and welcoming as possible and are always just a phone call away for any questions you may have. Reserve this home the minute you decide on your dates; there is a reason it fills up quickly. I would recommend this spacious and gorgeous retreat to anyone who needs to reconnect with nature and immerse themselves in the beauty of the Colorado mountains. You will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Aww it just warms our hearts to know that we can share our home with other families looking for a home away from home to get together with their loved ones. The fact that staying at our home while exploring Colorado can provide another family with such a beautiful experience and memories is priceless to us. Thank you and hope to have you back one day!

This house is stunning and the views are spectacular. It is a perfect place for a family to relax together. The owners are very welcoming and have thought of everything. The home is very conveniently located; however, it feels as though you are in a majestic, remote location. I couldn't recommend this place more.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
