I believe my husband and I were Casa Bodhichitta's first guests. That was four years ago and we have been returning every year since. The casita could not be more ideal for us. It is trite to say, but the place really does tick all of the boxes. It is beachfront and within walking distance to a world class point wave. It has privacy, a pool, beautiful gardens, wide verandas all adding up to a very comfortable, esthetically pleasing, carefree environment. On the domestic front, the kitchen is big, they have a good size frig and I love having a washing machine to use. The caretakers, Alfonso and Alicia are really great people, fun to be around and are attentive withour being intrusive. The decor is amazing. Over the years Diane and John have collected quite an array of quality Mexican arts and crafts. They have it displayed perfectly throughout the property. When you arrive at Casa Bodhichitta you enter a one of a kind home that has character and soul. Without hesitation we can recommend this property to anyone who enjoys surfing warm water waves, beautiful surroundings and getting away from it all. We have only just returned from Mexico and already we are looking forward to next year and our stay at what we consider to be the best beach house at Saladita.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Stayed here last year for 2 weeks at this beachfront house and lived the surf/beach lifestyle to the fullest. The place is right on the sand beach so the sound of the surf and the seabreeze feel like they are part of the home. The house is beautifully furnished, gorgeous landscaping and grounds, and about as comfortable as you can imagine. Looking out from the covered veranda you see the surf break, the sunsets, the fishing boats, the palm trees and everthing else that is ocean oriented. My wife and I will be returning to Saladita and this beach rental this Fall for more of the same. The greatest part of this tiny beach town is that it is still old Mexico with very little tourist influence. No noisy discos, minimal beach vendors, and super casual attitude amounst the locals and visitors alike. Once we get there I ditch the shoes and walk everywhere barefoot including the family-run beachside resturants, the surfspot, and the long beach walks at sunset. I can't wait to get back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Four of us (two couples) enjoyed a wonderful week long stay in late May. It is the closest house to the ocean in all of Saladita and gets ocean breezes all day and night. (This was great b/ce the house does not have AC.) Two of us stayed in the master bedroom in the main house and the other couple stayed in the newly constructed separate 1 bedroom with detached bath. It would be possible to sleep 4 additional people (the 2 couches in the main house and 2 couches in the separate bedroom are twin beds), if you were looking to squeeze. The house is a short, easy walk on the beach to the surf break. We loved how well decorated, clean, and well kept the whole place was. The infinity pool (with ocean views!) was amazing and has a great shaded area with hammocks to relax. If we weren't surfing or in the pool we were lounging in the fantastic hammocks on the shaded ocean patio. Can you tell how much we loved this place? The caretakers also came everyday to clean and were extremely friendly in helping us with whatever we needed. We would highly recommend this house to anyone!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: My wife and I live in Sun Valley, Idaho for the last forty years. We love to ski and surf in Mexico. We have ten grandchildren and more coming, the beach house is the perfect environment for children and adults. The climate here is perfect and a great counter point to our life in the mountains.
Why the Owner Chose La Saladita:
Saladita has some of the best surf in the world and is perfect for beginners, with out the 'vibe' of a world class break. The water is clean and the beach is beautiful and sandy, with great swimming and body surfing just out the front door.
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
Our house is only three years old although we have owned the property since 2000. Ours is the first lot in the original subdivision in Saladita and we are close to everything but just the right distance away to feel the privacy of an individual home.
