River's Way Lodge on the South Holston River

The River’s Way lodge overlooks a wooded channel of the South Fork of the Holston River and is open to rental for the general public. The expansive porch of the lodge is about 30 feet from the river. The lodge is constructed from logs taken from an 18th century farmhouse in Bluff City and from wood purchased from local lumber mills. The floors are built with Southern Pine and the walls and ceilings are built with hemlock, pine, chestnut and tulip poplar. There is a large stone fireplace flanked by comfortable furniture in the living room.
Down stairs we have two large bunk-rooms with 4 comfortable full sized beds in each. The loft room has a queen sized bed. We provide sheets, pillows/pillow cases and blankets for each bed. Bunk beds and cots are available for larger parties. Total lodge capacity is 16. Each of the two large bathrooms has; 2 toilets, 1 shower and 2 sinks.
The lodge kitchen has a stove (courtesy of the Hunter Banks Co.), two refrigerators, a large freezer and serving/cooking utensils for up to 30 people.
Guests have the use of a Weber Grill, and an outdoor fire pit.
The lodge has satellite TV and there is a DSL connection for laptop use.

About the owner: The mission of River's Way is: Growth through Experiential and Adventure Based Programming for people of all Abilities River’s Way served over 2,200 participants in 2009 in Project LEAP (formerly Adventure Incentive Programs), Respite Programs, Summer Camps and Adventure Programs. Primary populations at River's Way are youth from disadvantaged backgrounds and youth with disabilities. River’s Way uses outdoor adventure programming and experiential team building activities to teach soft skills and build self efficacy. Programs focus on team work, problem solving, perseverance in the face of challenges, practicing listening skills and being flexible. “Relevant”, “fun”, “engaging”, “thought provoking ”, “challenging”, “encouraging” -- these words have been used to describe River's Way!
