We rented this house for the week of July 4th. There were 4 adults and 4 kids. Plenty of room to spread out! The house was very clean, and the owner was great. The beach was amazing for our young kids (3,4,5 & 7). Super shallow, warm and clear a long way out. We would definitely stay there again. The kitchen area is a little small for our size group, but our weather was great and we ate at the picnic table on the beach most nights. The living area is much larger than it appears in the photos. I only wish we could have stayed longer. It was hot while we were there, and while there was no AC, the house is in the shade, and not having AC was not a big deal. The owner also was kind enough to arrange for a babysitter so the adults could get out for an evening. All in all she was very helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for writing a review! It was great to have you enjoy the beach and house. Please come back next year.

Exceptionally clean, spacious living conditions, along with an absolutely beautiful beach area just a stroll from your front porch. We could not think of any place you would rather be than in a super clean, comfy place with a great sandy beach almost at your doorstep! We would love to summer on Lee Pt. Rd., and if you have a chanch to stay here you will feel the same way too!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a perfect place to vacation! The house has everything you could possibly need. We never miss our beds when we are there because they are so comfortable!! The kitchen is stocked with every essential you need. When we went up with 2 families, it was great having an upstairs with a FULL kitchen, bath and bedroom! Very spacious. The BEST part of the vacation home is the BEACH. Always groomed to perfection and warm, white and ready to be used. We used it for sandcastles, sunning and a game of baseball! The water is a bonus. It is very calm and goes out about 100 yards without getting deep, which is amazing for small children, you feel very safe! Great grill for having home cooked meals and eating out on the picnic table on the beach pavillion! The sunsets are amazing, while you have a bonfire going. Our favorite vacation EVER!!! We use this home for family vacations, plus we like to sneak away for a romantic weekend. The wineries are endless and make for an amazing drive! - perfect for both!! Suttons Bay is a 3 mile drive to great shopping and fun restaurants! Traverse City is about 15 miles, which provides great shopping and dining. The location of the home is quiet and personal. The owner is always a pleasure to deal with, making sure your stay is perfect!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family has stayed at this great beach home 2 years in a row. It's our favorite vacation of the year. Perfect for the kids to swim and do water sports, close to Suttons Bay and Traverse City and the great shopping and entertainment and minutes from many of the best wineries in Leelanau County. If you have a family that likes to go in many different directions, or just hang together, this is the place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We had an amazing week at the house. The house was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities as listed. The only complaint was no A/C, however fans were provided which met our needs. It was so nice to finish each day on the beach around the fire pit. The house is a short drive to Sutton's Bay and it's quaint shops and restaurants and a manageable drive into Traverse City. It was a very stress-free vacation. The owner recommended Mawby's winery, which was so close and a great spot.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had 2 glorious weeks here. We couldn't fault the accomodation, it was lovely and clean and there was plenty of room for all of us - we have 5 children! Being able to walk over the road and be on our own bit of beach was fantastic. The lake is lovely and warm and good for children as you can walk out a long way and still be only waist deep. We found the shops and local towns easy to find and not too far away. We even toasted smore's on the beach which was a new experience for us "limeys". We could go on for ages about how wonderful this holiday was but I suppose the best endorsement is just to say "When can we go back?"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Thanks for always having the beach in perfect condition! We feel so spoiled having our own private, white sandy beach. The house was great! Always having everything we need. We shopped in town and drove to Traverse for the yummy bakery. We also had to hit the mall, for some back to school clothes! Everything is easy to access, so we were back in time for swimming and sun. Thanks for having such a great place to spend our family vacations - This will be our 5th year coming to our secret getaway! We would think of no other place to spend our summer vacation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Thank you for sharing your home with us. My children want only ONE vacation every year and that is to go to Suttons Bay! We used to come for 1 week, but now we stay for 2 WEEKS! We love the BEACH! The white sand and the ability to walk for so long in the water without it going past your hips is the best safety we need for our children! The hours of fun in the water is priceless. The house is great, always having everything we could possibly need. Shopping is great in town, love all the shops! Great house, great location and awesome beach - Thanks for such a great vacation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This piece of paradise on Lee Point Road is like no other. The broad sandy beach, camp fire and s'mores, grill on the beach and up at the house, as well as a perfect country- lake side road for leisurely bike rides, creates the perfect vacation setting. I had my whole extended family up and we had a blast. The house is spacious and beautifully appointed with everything you need for sunny beach days, all night board game marathons and a kitchen to cook for the masses. The upstairs suite is special. All brand new - spacious get away for mom and dad or the romantic couple. The views from every window offer Grand Traverse Bay at its best. The sparkles of Traverse City a few miles south on the horizon and the stars and moon just begging for a beach party. Many many boats can park themselves on the beach or just off shore too. You can have a regatta! This place enhanced ten fold the experience my family and I enjoyed on our northern Michigan vacation. I so recommend it and will go back every year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

About the owner: We've travelled and lived all over the world, however I was lucky enough to be raised in Michigan and in fact spent all of my Summers on Lee Point Road. Lee Point is one of the most majestic, peaceful and romantically beautiful places on earth.
Why the Owner Chose Suttons Bay:
We bought the house as we own adjacent property and wanted to have space for our family and friends to visit. In between those visit, we are proud to be able to share with others thru VRBO.
You can't beat the clean water, wonderful sandy beach and the tranquility of the trees and forest that surrounds the house.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
No need to pack allot of clothes - you'll be waking up and putting on your swim suits and end the day with a cover up on, sitting at the fire pit on the beach. Endless scenery, great walking and running trails, beaches and hikes nearby. If you need a diversion from water sports and nature, you can be in Suttons Bay in minutes or Traverse City in 20 mins. Leelanau County has many places to explore; from wineries, to nature reserves, villages with great artists and funky boutiques.
