This apartment is beautiful. It has everything you would want- close to fantastic restaurants, shops, stations and sights. It was comfortable and clean and great to come home to at the end of a big day. Luigi was a great help, giving us ideas for good eating and how to get around. He also arranged a taxi for our departure and set the price for us. The apartment is close to everything but so quiet. The terrace was wonderful at any time of day- sunny and warm with a great view. Yes, the walk up the stairs was hard but we took comfort in the fact that we had to be walking off the calories! Will certainly recommend this place to friends.Did you find this review helpful? We stayed in Luigi's apartment in November and found it perfect for our stay. Although it is on a busy road we could not hear the traffic in the apartment, even on the wonderful terrace. Luigi was there to greet us and was always just a phone call away if there were any problems. He was very helpful and was most concerned that we inform him if there was anything that we were not satisfied with. The apartment was very comfortable and clean and just as it appears in the photos and description. There are a lot of stairs up it it but that was no problem. In fact the height added to the peace and quiet and also the views across the city. Luigi has other central apartments if climbing stairs is a problem. All we can add is thank you Luigi for a wonderful stay and we will be back soon. Erwin and Nuala Shaw.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

This apartment is fabulous! Luigi, the owner, was extremely helpful and organized, and made us comfortable even before we left the U.S. After a transatlantic flight and a van from the DaVinci airport, we settled in with a glass of wine on the terrace and looked at the wonderful view of St. Peter’s Dome in the distance and all of Rome beneath us,. We then strolled to the Spanish Steps for a quick dinner, went back to the terrace and watched as the sun slowly set in the west and the night-lights of Rome came on. Over the next few days we walked to the Vatican, strolled to the Borghese Gallery (a must stop for art lovers) and used the metro to go to the Coliseum and the Forum. The apartment has a great location and is in a lovely area. Luigi’s suggestions for neighborhood restaurants gave us the opportunity to sample excellent and reasonably priced Italian dinners. We were able to have breakfasts and lunches on the terrace and used the kitchen to make a special pasta dinner one night. If you want to spoil yourself, stay at this apartment. You won’t regret the experience!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

A lovely place to stay with a terrace that boasted splendid views of this magical capital city. Great central location which was excellent for sightseeing. It was so quiet and peacful that it was hard to believe that you were in the middle of such a busy and vibrant city. .The apartment offered everything that we needed for our holiday to be a success and we greatly enjoyed our time there. Luigi was extremely helpful and polite, organising transport from and to the airport for us and recommending local restaurants and attractions. Would recommend to anyone wishing to holiday in Rome, it was a delightful place to stay..Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

PROS 1. Great location, right off Piazza Barberini (next to Hotel Stendahl if you want to google the location). 2. Quiet. Even though it is in the city there is almost no traffic noise. 3. The outdoor terrace is spacious and has a great view of the Vatican, as well as surrounding rooftops. 5. Has an a/c unit in the living room (extra charge to use as is typical for Italy) and a d/w and washing machine in the kitchen area. 6. Building seems secure and safe, with restricted entry. 7. Luigi is very nice, was generally responsive to email and text, and was easy to meet at the unit. CONS 1. Is a 7 floor walk up. No elevator, luggage must be carried up. 2. Shower has extremely low water pressure. A very small stream dribbles from the shower head, often only cold water. Luigi explained that the water pressure is low because the apt is on the top floor. We often had to heat up water in the electric kettle and dilute it from the tap in a stockpot in order to take a "pour over" shower. Can be done, but not what I personally had in mind when renting the unit. 3. Is only sort of clean. I'm not a fastidious person, but the bathroom especially was only bachelor guy kind of clean. 4. Kitchen not well equipped. Old Italian coffee maker with missing handle. No spatula. No wine glasses. Corkscrew is broken but kind of works. Lots of pots and pans and adequate dishes though. 5. FYI, the in suite dressing room is a plywood enclosed partition with rods and shelves built in. 6. Minor, but would be helpful to have a notebook of instructions regarding use of the washer and d/w, location of the building trash storage, etc.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Dear Mrs. I am extremely sorry to hear that you have had reason to complain about your stay in my apartment. I would like to be able to clarify wherever possible any of the inconveniences that you encountered during your stay. I would like to reply to all of the complaints point by point as follows: 1. Regarding the apartment being located on the 7th floor; I would like to rectify this since it is on the 5th floor as posted on the apartment listing. Moreover someone is always present during check-in and check-out to help guests with their luggage up and down the stairs. It must be noted that most of the buildings in the area (The Roman Historic Center) do not have an elevator due to the period of the constructions. 2. As far as the shower pressure is concerned I was made aware of the problem only after your arrival – I tried to oblige to this by applying a discount to your fee. But most importantly I would like to inform you (as well as future guests) that I have installed a water pump to avoid any future problem of this kind (water pressure is now actually perfect as well as the water temperature). 3. I personally make sure to guarantee a high standard of cleanliness in the apartment (n.b. the apartment is thoroughly cleaned at every check in/out). But I also make sure to take care of any complaint on arrival or during the period of stay – I am very sorry to say that no complaint was made on your side at arrival or during your stay. 4. To further clarify any doubt I will always try to satisfy any request for new household equipment when necessary. 5. As far as the dressing room is concerned nothing has ever been changed compared to what is shown and posted on the website 6. I take care of giving every possible information and instruction about appliances in the apartment on arrival; I might not always remember every single detail but I will surely make myself available if and when asked.

This place is GORGEOUS. The pictures do not even remotely do it justice. The apartment is filled with everything you need: pretty plate ware for your finds at the local market, and extremely helpful guidebook prepared by Luigi with maps to everything nearby, and of course plenty of wineglasses for the local vino. Once you step out onto the terrace, you will realize that this is the best spot to be. The view is stunning, the noise is non-existent, and the pretty humming birds that stop by the sweet smelling flowers are all the entertainment needed. Deal with a person like Luigi was also a very positive experience. We can highly recommend this accommodation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car.
