The suite is beautiful and very well designed. Everything was clean, the owners are very friendly, and it's only a block from the beach. And the views!!!! There is only one improvement we'd recommend: an apartment-size washer/dryer unit in the large closet in the living room. Why? Because towels, washcloths, beach towels, etc. take 24+ hours to dry in January and one quickly runs out of room to spread them out to dry. Also, I'd recommend earplugs to light sleepers. I had no idea that Oahu has a large population of wild chickens and roosters. They woke me up in the wee hours, as did neighborhood dogs, do doubt defending their territory from the marauding fowl! But as an alternative to small and cookie-cutter hotel rooms, this lodging is a gem! We recommend it highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We loved our stay at Waimanalo! About 20 minutes of easy driving to Honolulu; far enough from the bustling of a big city. Rental was very clean and spacious, nice breeze at night! Quiet and peaceful. Great beach at 600 feet away; and not crowded. The owner was so helpful ( in so many ways!!!), and a pleasure to deal with. Great little restaurant 2 minutes away with wholesome food, great smoothies and lemonades. A big 2 thumbs up!! We highly recommend it!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We were at this house for 15 days including New Year's Eve. Our hosts Melissa and Bryce were gracious and invited us to the neighborhood block party. My son lives in Hawaii and we went out for the wedding on Jan. 4th. Had a great time - location was very good. Melissa recommended a wonderful photographer that took very nice wedding pictures and was very accomodating despite the not so great weather on the wedding day. Highly recommend this place to stay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here for my father's birthday and we're completely blown away by the property. The owner met us as we pulled up and offered suggestions on where to eat and what to do. The condo itself was immaculate. The whole place was modern and very clean. I highly suggest this property to anyone and look forward to staying here when we visit the island again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This 1 BR above the garage is 5 houses from the beach. It was clean, beautiful, spacious, and had everything we needed including beach chairs. We could have arrived in Hawaii with daypacks! We took our coffee down to the beach most mornings to watch the sunrise. The beach is lovely. The owners were extremely gracious and really took care of us, especially since we had a tsunami warning while we were there (luckily a false alarm). Waimanalo isn't much of a town, but it does have Sweet Home Waimanalo restaurant right up the street. We can't wait to return and would stay here again in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This rental was definitely “Paradise Found” and was everything and more than it promised. The hosts, Melissa and Bryce provided all the comforts of home and were available to assist in anyway they could. We wish we had stayed at this lovely suite for our entire time on Oahu. On our very first night, we were invited down to the beach to see the moon rise over the beach by our hosts. It was so beautiful and the next morning we went back to the beach to see it during the day. Of all the beaches we have visited in our travels to Hawaii, Waimanalo is by far, one of the most beautiful… clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and no crowds!! Each morning, we woke up to the beautiful views of the mountains, the cooling breezes from the trade winds and the soothing sounds of the mourning doves. Centrally located, in a 15- 20 minute drive in each direction you can find wonderful restaurants, shopping and activities. With a short walk, you can sample some great local food and the feeling of the “country”. The next time our travels bring us to Oahu, we will return to Waimanalo! Mahalo!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We spent 9 days exploring every beach we could on Oahu and Maui, and Waimanalo stands alone as the absolute best beach. I won't even attempt to dilute the experience of the beach with adjectives, you must see it for yourself. We stayed at the rental for 4 nights, and should have stayed there for the entire trip. Melissa and Bryce somehow found a way to make exquisite paradise even better with this unit. The description is completely accurate, there is absolutely no hustle from these people. They are good people who are very good at what they do- extremely professional, helpful, and generous. The property is very well maintained and free of clutter. And I can best describe the unit as refined simple luxury. The unit was very well made and there was no skimping on the interior. The lanai, floors, fans, windows, bedding, chairs, appliances etc. are all of high quality AND aesthetically compliment the natural surroundings. I challenge anyone to find a nicer bathroom in the price range or higher!!! The actual size of every room and wraparound lanai is also more than generous. There is nothing in the unit that doesn't belong there, everything that is there only enhances the pleasure of your stay. There are more breathtaking views to take in than there are hours in a day. In my opinion, there is no reason to stay anywhere else on Oahu. If you have a car, you have easy access to anything the island has to offer-whether you head to Waikiki for dinner, or feel like exploring Kailua, Lanikai, Kaneohe and the North Shore. Twenty five minutes to the airport. Ten minutes to incredible sushi and shopping in Kailua town. Hour and a half to dozens of honu on a secluded deep North Shore beach. Five minute walk to Aunty's for unbelievably fresh and tasty plate lunch. But don't forget that you are a two minute stroll away from heaven. The value of the rental far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend it to friends, family and anyone looking to get the fullest Hawaiian vacation experience without breaking the bank. So if you want to have the best vacation ever...Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

This place is like a home away from home! All new, clean, and exactly as advertised. The plush carpet in the bedroom and the hardwood floors are an excellent combination. The bedroom was large enough to do your morning yoga exercises! We had rain most of the time, and the only saving grace was the WIFI, large TV's, excellent views, and comfortable bed. Are you sold yet? You should be, its a great value! Thank you for your hospitality Melissa and Bryce!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We stay in the area 4 times a year and this was the newest place we have rented. Really nice and close to a very secluded beach. Being close to the mountains really gives the beach and house a nice appeal. If your looking for a quite area, nice finishings, and a beautiful secluded beach that is great for swimming and walking this is a great option.Did you find this review helpful?
