This property is located in the heart of the famed historic Eastside, at the mouth of such commonly photographed streets as Acequia Madre, Garcia, and Canyon Road. One of the most visited neighborhoods in Santa Fe, it remains a leafy quiet refuge with pedestrian-friendly small winding streets and uniform adobe architecture, protected by city codes.
The 2700 sq ft property is completely walled-in for ultimate privacy, and accommodates large mature lawn and gardens which wrap around the home, providing a green oasis of serenity. One easily forgets you are staying at 7000 feet in the high desert.
This is a two story double adobe home with french doors and multiple-paned windows throughout, providing views and access to the gardens and patio from all sides. Upstairs is a bedroom suite opening onto a rooftop deck, and an adjacent small office.
The house is imbued with local tradition as one walks through its corridors with curving and asymmetric archways and tiled floors. These details lend an old world flavor which blends beautifully with the crisp white plastered walls and more contemporary decor.
Varied artwork, many original, hang on its walls. Four cozy fireplaces are scattered throughout.
There is a dining area with fireplace with seating for six to eight and an adjacent full kitchen with center island, skylight, and sun-filled windows. Separate is a utility-laundry room.
A well-stocked library lies adjacent to the master bedroom, which, in turn, has two french doors opening onto the garden and a fountain. On summer nights lie in bed with the doors open and the fountain splashing.
The large bright adjoining master bath is also skylit with separate jacuzzi bath and shower and double sinks.
Aside from the living room, there is a skylit sunroom available for lounging and reading. Two areas are available for outdoor relaxing: a small nook under a portal with hammock, and a large flagstone terrace for dining.
