We found the house on VRBO and reached out to Cassidy. He replied promptly with all the information we would need including a packing list for our 3 night stay. (Min 3 night stay required). After landing at Palmar Sur, a taxi was waiting to take us to meet Guillermo at the office. Guillermo is very helpful and accompanied us to the house to make sure we had everything we needed and provided a cell phone to reach him. We stocked up on provisions at the local markets and met with Jorge to arrange our excursions. We took a short boat ride to the house which was atop a mountain (313 steps up from the dock). Don’t worry; they take the luggage for you via an ATV. The house is AMAZING! All local wood, eco-friendly solar energy and beautiful views everywhere. Although it was August, the ceiling fans kept us cool. Our party of six (adults to preteens) slept comfortably in the bedrooms and on futon sofas. We took daily excursion to Cano Island and Corcovado Park. Our guide Cesar was friendly and explained all about the local animals and the history of the mangroves along the mouth of the river. We awoke to the sounds of howler monkeys and toucans. We highly recommend the Sierpe Pacifico house for a natural Costa Rica experience with a mix of modern comfort!

We are so lucky to have found this beautiful house surrounded by paradise! The wonderful staff made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We didn't want our visit to end. We had unforgettable adventures kayaking in the mangroves, hiking Corcovado and scuba diving at Cano Island. We even had amazing wildlife sightings right through our windows which made this place all the more magical. This location was such a convenient launch point for the tours and so relaxing to come home to at the end of the day. We would definitely stay here again and wish we didn't have to leave!!!

We rented the lodge in our latest trip to the southern zone of Costa Rica. What a beautiful facility. Large enough for our party of seven, and everythng we could wish for in a home in the Rain Forest. The plants and animals were amazing - right out the door! Sunrise and sunset are special from this vantage point - really one of a kind, and a great value as well. Boating to Cano Island and the Mangroves from this location was convienent and very cool! The fresh fish we caught (and ate off the grill) was the best.

The pair of Toucans raising an early morning ruckus right outside was the worst part of our stay :) This place is a must see. Wonderful staff and tour opportunities. Spectacular accommodations. Endless things to see and do. Plan on extra time if possible Don't miss this one - you'll want to come back... Chris

If you want to get away from touristy locations, this is an incredible place to stay. The house is tucked back in the rainforest, and animals like monkeys hang around the property. We woke up to the monkeys and birds chirping, what a great way to start your day! The house is beautiful, with gorgeous hardwood floors and a wraparound porch. Watching the sunsets from this porch, with the rainforest and mountains in front of you, is a once-in-a lifetime experience. We went on a fishing trip with Deidy, the captain of Sierpe del Pacifico's boat. He is helpful and knowledgable. We went snorkeling during the boat trip at the coolest reef I've seen, and we even saw dolphins! I highly recommend spending time here-it's an experience you won't forget.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be invited to visit Sierpe del Pacifico with friends who’d just purchased a lovely lot in the development. Together with two other guests, we stayed at the lodge for four days, walked the grounds, imagined our friends’ new home, took marvelous day trips up and down the river, and totally understood why they’d chosen this particular place to return to, again and again. The lodge’s amenities easily handled our party of six; it is spacious and open enough to accommodate a variety of individual activities, including the all important bird-and-animal watching. We used the well-stocked kitchen for breakfast and dinners, found more than ample storage for our belongings in the bedrooms and baths, and gravitated to the spacious wrap-around porch for coffee and drinks, bird-watching, drawing, and photographing. There was always ample electricity and warm water for our needs. We found much to like in the actual structure, and were very pleased to meet the designer/builder, who would be constructing our friends’ house. I was very impressed with the staff of Sierpe del Pacifico: our needs (such as parking the van, boating us into the site, arranging for day-trips and tours to mangrove swamps, the Pacific coast, and Corcovado park) were easily arranged before we arrived, and, if changes were required, quickly accommodated. Our host spoke Spanish, but the most knowledgeable staff spoke English, too. They were also very open to the small suggestions we made for the lodge (more pots, a different handle on a particular door). The infrastructure already in place at SdP is quite impressive: the welcoming dock and the signage, well-maintained and marked trails along the ridges and through the swamp, a thriving garden and orchard, the availability of kayaks—one would not have to venture off the property to enjoy oneself. We certainly appreciated harvesting limones for our drinks! In short, the visit was a real delight—my husband and I miss sleeping very soundly in our screened yet open guest bedroom, awakening to watch the dawn tint the hills, and hearing the howlers, even as our host prepared the morning’s coffee. We look forward to many repeat visits and more adventures in a lovely place.

This is a wonderful place to escape the city. It's has fantastic views of the Seirpe river and wildlife everywhere around the grounds. They also have a great garden down by the river where you can pick your own food. Very peaceful and a great place to hang out with friends in a natural environment. Kayaks are supplied for exploring the local mangroves. I plan on returning!

We were looking for an "off the grid" destination where we could see animals in a natural setting, sans tons of tourists. This far exceeded our expectations both in location and lodging. To start with, our drive to and from Sierpe was the perfect way to see the country. The company Cassidy recommended (Get to Costa Rica Tours) was the best. Both drivers were fantastic and we learned so much about the country. We had been excited from the start when viewing the pictures of the lodge, but when we stepped into it for the first time - wow! Absolutely beautiful - the hardwoods were gorgeous and such a complement to the setting. The appearance and amenities of the house -- beautiful furnishings, tons of room, very nice kitchen, comfortable beds, great showers, the beautiful leather rockers and the view off the front porch - was such an important part of our visit. We also loved the fact that it was eco friendly. It was a great value and I can't imagine anything better. We loved waking up in the morning to the sound of howler monkeys and then listening to the sounds of the rain forest. Two mornings of the week we heard rustling trees and were thrilled to watch the monkeys outside our window. We also spent one entire day of the vacation just relaxing there. We were very pleased with the tour company Cassidy recommended - all the tour guides were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We went on the mangrove tour, to Cano Island, the frog tour (got amazing pictures of poison dart frogs), and a great horseback ride with Rosy. Can't say which was our favorite, as each was equally unique and exciting, and we have incredible pictures to remember our adventure. In doing research planning the trip we read that National Geographic considers Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula the most biologically intense place on earth. It is also described as one of the last frontiers. We were so excited to experience that - it was absolutely the vacation of a lifetime! We experienced intense nature in the way we hoped to, staying in extreme comfort in a gorgeous lodge. Perfection.

Pretty amazing place. The house, jungle, river, ocean, and the people all were as advertised or more. Cassidy and his people work very hard and are very diligent in working to make sure everything goes smoothly. Pretty incredible when you realize your in the middle of the jungle in a off grid house with all the amenities you need and its only a quick 5-10 minutes boat ride to town. In my first 2 hour hike through the property I saw squirrel, howler, and white faced monkeys. Waking up most every morning to birds and monkeys within view or in the trees around the house. The fishing was great as well. On the ocean we had a really tough day yet still caught a number of bonita and rainbow runners. River fishing was sweet. Trapped our own baitfish and shrimp and hammered 6 snook in about 45 minutes on a nice quiet spot on the river. Really a neat place and a great value when looking at eco lodge pricing in the area and would recommend it to anyone who wants the real jungle living experience and adventure. Highly recommend this place or their sister cabina property for two groups or needs for a more moderate price point.

We stayed at the lodge for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a beautiful lodge nestled on top of a hill in the jungle overlooking the Sierpe River and the surrounding jungle canopy. Birds, monkeys, butterflies, and all sorts of wildlife abound. The river is full of life and leads to the ocean where the fishing, swimming and snorkeling are outstanding. We can't wait to go back next year, when we plan to stay longer. The food in town at the restaurants was also excellent, but we mostly cooked at the lodge.

In the spring of 2011, my brother and I were lucky enough to be introduced to Cassidy and enjoy a stay at the Sierpe del Pacifico owner’s lodge. We had heard great things and as we headed out on the boat from the town of Sierpe we were very excited. The river ride was intriguing with various houses near the town transitioning to the heart of the mangrove forest. We anxiously looked for crocodiles and were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of one. We spent an exciting day deep sea fishing and snorkeling at the beautiful Cano Island before heading to the owner’s lodge. Our first view of the lodge was from the river. I could already imagine the expansive view from the veranda overlooking the river valley. We docked the boat and hiked up a short and easy trail to the lodge. The outside was impressive but when we opened the door we were blown away by the beautiful exotic hardwoods everywhere from the ceiling and floors to the gorgeous dining room table. The interior was expertly decorated in a luxurious yet simple manner which was a welcomed comfort. I greatly enjoyed my first hot shower in Costa Rica in the downstairs bathroom. The aesthetically tiled shower offered a beautiful sunset view and Logan came out saying, “that was the best shower of my life!” We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset dropping over the river valley edge and saw several parrots and other birds. That night we dined in fine company enjoying fresh sushi and red snapper from our ocean catch. The bedrooms were very comfortable and I enjoyed a great night’s sleep in the natural ambient conditions. In the morning I awoke to excited calls from Logan to “come see the monkeys!” We had looked for monkeys throughout our stay in Costa Rica and had disappointedly about given up. The first morning we woke up at SDP there was an entire troop of white faced capuchins playing in the trees only a few feet from the deck! They jumped and swung and made all kinds of noises while we took photos. After breakfast and coffee with a view, we packed up and reluctantly headed home. The stay was amazing and driving away in the car we decided we would definitely be purchasing a lot at SDP.

I met up with a fishing buddy here, and I stayed three nights. We came for the fishing, which for me is some of the best that Costa Rica has to offer because of the variety of species that we caught and the variety of techniques we applied to catch them. Just amazing! We also spent a day mountain biking through the forest. In all, it was a great experience. We met a couple staying at another Sierpe del Pacifico house down the trail. We began having cocktails with them in the evening and comparing the events of the day. They were most excited about their day of snorkeling. The views in the evening from the veranda were spectacular. There were monkeys, iguanas, toucans and many other species of birds right around the lodge. The aroma of the vegetation, the sound of the rain on the roof at night, I felt like I was really confronting the rain forest, yet the lodge was beautiful, very comfortable and new. There was a lot of space in the lodge for two guys with a large upstairs bedroom and bath. It was well laid out and supplied. We had everything we needed. I would definitely return here. For sure next time I will stay longer. I was psyched for several days after I left the Sierpe del Pacifico property.

My husband and I spent almost a week at Sierpe del Pacifico. This house is beautifully designed, with an open layout and large, modern kitchen. The elevation keeps the house cool throughout the day, which makes it a perfect escape from the midday heat. The veranda was our favorite spot for birdwatching, reading, and simply watching the Sierpe River. The house comes well-stocked with everything needed for cooking and entertaining. Upstairs, the master bedroom is majestic - a large loft space with a seating area. Cassidy was a warm and generous host - he and his staff took care of all our needs and concerns, helping us out on the water, planning activities and kayaking. This is an ideal home base for visiting the surrounding attractions including Corcovado - and a destination in itself if you just want to unwind in the pristine jungle.

We have spent some time in Costa Ricas more popular destinations and sought to seek out some adventure on this trip...find something off the beaten path. We could not have chosen better! This home in the jungle was amazing...the views world class. We had to remind ourselves at times that we were off the grid...the home was that comfortable. If you want to relax and experience the best of Costa Rica on your own terms check this home out. An old friend of mine and our sons spent 4 days here...fishing, hiking. kayaking, exploring...the choices of activiites were endless. We spent one day just hanging at the house...it may have been the best day!!

This house is spectacular! Beautiful high ceilings, spacious and airy. The master bedroom is so open it's like sleeping above the forest canopy. (without the bugs) The night I spent there with my husband was one of the most romantic experiences imaginable. High on a hill, overlooking the Sierpe River. The views are incredible. The sunsets awesome. The only things we heard during our stay was birds, frogs, howler monkeys and the occassional faint hum of a boat passing on the river. We were overcome with a sense of peace and tranquility that stayed with us for several days after we left. The owners have spared no expense to ensure that the house is well equipped and luxuriously comfortable. The attention to detail is amazing. (They even have a dock for your IPOD!) The only drawback for us was that we couldn't stay longer! LOL.
