Clean and comfortable - completely met our expectations from the photos. Wonderful views both front and back patio areas. Quiet and private. Great home base for hiking in some really beautiful country. Loved coming "home" in the evening and relaxing with great views, a good book or a movie. Everything you could need was right there in this beautiful home. Some great shopping and restaurants in nearby Taos. Owner easy to work with and was great to know that caretaker was nearby. We would definitely recommend this place for year-round visits to this area.

Perfect Taos Experience

My family loved our experience at Lucky Dog Casa. With views of snow capped peaks from one window and the Taos Plateau and extinct volcanic cones from the other there was always a captivating view to fixate on from the living room. The sage brush out every door was incredibly beautiful and watching the stars from the patio hot tub was a great way to wind down the day. This property is a well kept secret for those seeking an easy to intermediate mountain biking experience right out the front door. Numerous dirt roads and two-tracks surround the property to the west and some have great views of the Rio Grand Rift. We will definitely be back.

I have stayed at Lucky Dog Casa twice now, once for a girl's weekend and most recently for mini-vacation with my family (husband, two daughters - 4 & 1, and two greyhounds. The house was perfect with comfortable beds, plenty of space to play, and even treats for the dogs. It was nice to be near Taos but not in it and the property and beautiful weather allowed for a lot of time outside. Highly recommend!

My 2nd stay at lucky dog. Good place to stay to go skiing or snowboarding as its a short drive to the slopes. Sunsets are beautiful and it is extremely still/quiet/relaxing on the patio. The house is very nice and the water gets quite hot to help ease sore muscles at the end of a long day of skiing/snowboarding.

Great place to stay for skiing New Mexico. Lucky Dog Casa was perfect for group we had on ski trip. Plenty of room, full kitchen, washer / dryer and best of all the hot tub. Look forward to staying during summer or fall and seeing more of Taos and the area.

Had an absolute blast in large part due to the comfort, coziness and proximity to the Taos ski slopes of the Lucky Dog Casa! The beds were very comfortable, the place was equipped with everything we needed and more and the Hot Tub was an extra-special treat after skiing the best slopes in North America! Another outstanding experience at the Lucky Dog Casa. This is our second time to use this house for our annual ski trip. The house is well located to access several of our favorite ski locations in NM. The house is very clean and well maintained. The owners and management are very helpful and informative. I would highly recommend the Lucky Dog property to anyone heading to NM.

Great experience, clean, warm and feels like home. Great place to stay when headed to the ski areas like taos or angelfire. Didn't bring my dogs, but exceptionally clean for dog friendly! Would recommend to friends/family, my second time staying here for our annual ski trip, we'll be back.

Convenient, Comfortable Ski/Snowboard accomodations with awsome views!

The house was conveniently located to the ski valley and less than an hours drive from Angel Fire skiing. You feel away from it all, yet, you are only 10 minutes from good restaurants and entertainment. The house was classic southwest adobe style with all the modern amenities. Flat screen TV with sound system, provided a comfortable movie watching experience at the end of the day. Wi-Fi let us check e-mail easily. A soak in the hot tub at the end of hard day on the slopes was nice treat. Will definitely return!

We were surprised at the size, it was very spacious. Next time we will bring friends. Was just myself, my husband and out two dogs. Very comfortable. Road to it a bit tricky, but worth it. We had nice snow at the ski resort, but not much at the casa. The hot tub was on the blink, we think due to a power outage. No worries, whirl pool tub worked nicely. Casa had nice immenities. Nice kitchen - felt like a home away from home. They even stocked some treats for the guest pets. How sweet and what a lovely touch. We highly recommend the lucky dog casa. We felt lucky to find such a great place at such a reasonable price.

Beautiful spacious home -- very quiet and secluded. View was amazing, little light pollution allowed for breathtaking night sky views. Accommodation were more than adequate, home away from home. We enjoyed our stay very much. Conveniently close to town, sites and Taos ski resort. Great place to stay! Hot tub, heated tiles, warm décor, fire… we had everything we needed to relax. This place was everything you could want in a vacation home. It has everything you need down to zip lock bags! The hot tub was perfect after a long day of skiing! We alos brought our goldendoodle who loved being able to run around. The place is very dog friendly! The stars at night were amazing, we don't get to see so many coming from the city. I can't wait to go back and stay at the Lucky Dog Casa!

I want to comment on this roomy, relaxing and beautiful rental. We had the most relaxing stay. The view is beautiful and the house very accommodating and well maintained. We enjoyed the hot tub almost every night. The house has everything you could need for a long stay. Every room is clean and comfortable. Thank you for a great vacation. I would recommend it for couples and families. We also enjoyed ourselves in town shopping.

Girls weekend

I spent a weekend get away at the Lucky Dog Casa with 4 of my girl friends. There was plenty room for our group. I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed, which actually turned out to be a good choice. It has a real mattress and was very comfortable. We enjoyed the sun sets from the hot tub on the back patio. Although there are a few houses near by, the back patio was very private and the views were amazing. There are so many unique places to shop in Taos and we found many treasures. We visited the Taos pueblo and spent Sunday evening at the abode bar listening to a blues band. We are already planning a return trip to the Lucky Dog Casa.

This was my second stay at the Lucky Dog Casa. A year after my first visit, the house had the same wonderful, cozy feel. The addition of a hot tub was great! This place is decorated beautifully and is clean and comfortable. Although it is pet friendly, you would never know animals have been in the house. I look forward to next year's visit!

My husband and I spent a week at the Lucky Dog Casa and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Of course there is plenty to do in the Taos area, but some days we just stayed at the Casa enjoying the quiet, grilling on the patio, soaking in the hot tub and being romantic. The house has everything to make your stay a wonderful one and the house is in excellent condition as well as being spotless. Looking forward to being able to return again!

We had been needing a week to get away as a family, and just enjoy some quiet time together. The Lucky Dog Casa was everything we had hoped for, and more. It is a beautiful home with everything we needed, and we felt very comfortable and right at home. We had planned on more time in town, but ended up spending a lot of our time at the Casa, simply relaxing. We especially enjoyed opening the windows at night and hearing the coyotes. Very peaceful, and we are dreaming of coming back!

Lucky Dog indeed! The house is great in every aspect- extremely well designed, lovingly and beautifully decorated. Everything we needed for a relaxing vacation was provided, from comfortable beds,a fully equipped kitchen to my personal favorite, the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. We loved being close to town, but far enough so that we had perfect darkness at night for star gazing, and perfect silence- punctuated only by the nightly coyote concert! Can't wait to go back.

Two couples, each with one dog, met at Lucky Dog Casa for a very nice week in Taos. Taos is about half way for each couple, one from Las Vegas, NV and the other from East Texas. It was a treat for the dogs to get to travel on a vacation instead of staying home “at camp”. We found the casa to be everything that it was advertised to be. There were nice tile floors throughout. The house had a workable, well-equipped kitchen and pantry; the beds, linens, and towels were very comfortable. The house was well stocked with toilet tissue and paper towels. The views are lovely, both the sunrises and the sunsets.

My wife and I stayed here May 17-20 for our 7th Anniversary trip. Very clean, very private. It had everything we needed. It was also located close enough to Taos for dining, close enough to the Rio Grade for whitewater rafting and very close to the road to Taos Ski Valley. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend staying here.

My husband and I just had the most incredible trip to Taos! We took our golden retriever and border collie, who had the time of their lives, and went with another couple. There was PLENTY of room for all 6 of us and plenty to spare. The views were spectacular and the ambient heated tile floors were pretty awesome too :-). It was the perfect location to get to the town or to the mountain. We will definitely be staying here again!

We had a great time at the Lucky Dog Casa! As soon as we walked in we felt at home! There is everything that you will need there at the house and it is a short drive to the town or the ski valley. Some friends and I visited Taos for a ski trip and stayed at the Lucky Dog Casa. The house was very nice, clean, and conveniently located near town and a variety of ski areas (Sipapu, Angel Fire, and Taos Ski Valley). The drive to Taos Ski Valley only took about 20 minutes and put us on some great skiing. The views from the house were spectacular and included snowcapped mountain ranges and wide-open range land. The hot tub on the back patio provided a chance to relax and ease sore muscles after a long day on the slopes. I highly recommend Lucky Dog Casa to anyone interested in visiting Taos!

Six rugby players from Houston area changed venues, for their annual ski trip, from Colorado to Taos. The snow was good and there were 4 unique ski areas within an hours drive of this house. Taos Ski Valley, our favorite, was less than a 30 minute drive from the house. The house was comfortable and provided everythng we needed for cooking, laundry and entertainment. The hot tub was a favorite at the end of a hard day on the mountain. We found good restaurants within minutes from the house. The views were spectacular day and night. Even though we are not a very demanding group, this house provided more than we expected. We will certainly return again.

This is a very comfortable, well-provisioned house in a very nice desert location. The ambience is pleasantly southwest. Everything was as advertized. Both the owner and the property manager were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend (except maybe to those with severe pet allergies). We all really enjoyed our stay. The casa has lots of big windows and great views, and I especially enjoyed watching the desert light change in the mornings and evenings, and the amazing sunsets.

A great place to spend the Christmas holiday

We spent 4 nights at the Lucky Dog Casa over the holidays. The house comfortably accommodated 4 adults, 2 kids and our Golden Retriever. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We skied at Taos and it was very convenient to get to the ski area, the town, and the Rio Grande Gorge. It was extremely cold while we were there, so the radiant heated floors felt great to come home to and the fireplace put off great heat. We would definitely rent this house again. I would love to come back in the summer. This is the best experience I have had with a rental yet.

The perfect setting for such a magical place. We were impressed by the views from every side of the house. The house was so nice and well furnished with all of the comforts of home, simply beautiful. It was nice to be able to go to the ski slopes or go to town and then return to relax at home or the "Taos House" as our boys named it. We would love to come back for another winter vacation or even a summer one. I bet the view and terrain are equally breathtaking! Thanks again for wonderful vacation!

I had the pleasure of spending three wonderful days here in November 2011. The house is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and cozy. The view from every window is breathtaking. You have the best of both worlds staying here because while it is private and quiet, it is also a quick drive to all of the restaurants and shopping. Whether you go to visit the ski resorts or all of the local art galleries and shops, you will enjoy a little piece of heaven on earth here. Can't wait to go back!

We had a great dog vacation!

We made our owners drive us to this great house for our vacation. We love it here! Most of the year we live in the city. There are not many fun places for us dogs to run freely. On the mesa, we can run down the road without worrying about being run over. We can jump through the sage trails and play hide and seek with each other. It even snowed on our trip. We ran around the property and rolled in the snow until we were exhausted. Boy, did we sleep good that night! The next day we ran down to see our friends at the Alpaca ranch, they like it when we visit. This is a great vacation place for dogs. The house is really comfortable, too. We can lay on the warm tile floor or sit in front of the fireplace and go to sleep at the end of a busy day. Oh yea, our owners like the house too!

The house is really comfortable with lots of big windows to let in the spectacular mountain and mesa views. If you want to go out for great food, there are many good restaurants within minutes from the house. Taos Ski Valley is a short drive. The Rio Grande Gorge is just down the road. There is a lot to do within a short drive. What we enjoyed most, was sitting outside on the back patio just soaking in the scenery or lounging inside in front of a warm fire. It's nice to be away from it all when you want your own space, but even better to know you also have the attractions of Taos to enjoy nearby when you are feeling adventurous.
