My family and I spent three nights in this rental unit. It was accurately represented in the photos - very spacious, clean, and nicely-decorated. The beds were comfy, although I expected the futon to be in the living area. Instead, it was in a bedroom with a twin bed. So that caused some logistical issues, but it all worked out. The kitchen is not luxurious, but certainly adequate. Its a great plus to have a parking place available and the location was excellent. We were able to walk to the BART, the shops on Valencia, the whole foods markets, coffee shops, etc. I would particularly recommend the bakery Tartine on Guerrero St. And the roof-top terrace was an added plus - a very relaxing place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. This unit does not have wireless internet, which I thought would not be an issue, but we missed the convenience of it as my husband had to put in a few hours of work each day. Additionally, there are several TVs, but no cable, so we could only watch a DVD. This was not a big issue - we simply didn't have time to sit around watching TV, but it would have been nice to check in on Wimbeldon or the local news/weather. If there was a way to watch television, I could not figure it out and it really wasn't enough of an issue to contact Robert, the owner. By the way, Robert was very accessible, helpful, and easy to deal with. I would definitely recommend the unit to others.

This was my first experience with VRBO and we were not disappointed. The condo was beautiful and spacious. The decor was beautiful and the furniture very comfy, especially the beds. We had a family of six staying there and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was fully equipped and it was great to be able to fix breakfast every morning. Garage parking was a huge plus as well. Location was very convenient, within walking distance to public transportation and lots of great restaurants nearby. I highly recommend Kiji on Guerrero Street if you are a sushi fan. The rooftop deck proved to be the icing the cake however . . . amazing views, we were able to watch the fireworks going on all around us. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone staying in the San Francisco Bay area. The owner was very helpful in answering my pre-vacation questions.

Great place. Clean and well maintained. Great location. Owner was wonderful.Apartment had everything but wifi and hair dryer. So nice to have coffee and supplies for us. Great little coffee shop 1/2 a block away, (used their internet). 3 blocks or less to BART. I would sure rent it again when we come back.

Two families traveling with infants both fit comfortably and with privacy in this large space. The bedroom area is separate from the living space, so enjoying the evening was not hampered by early sleepers. The kitchen was large and we found it easy to pick up food to cook in the neighbourhood. We adored the view from the windows and the lovely rooftop patio. The mission area is the best place to stay! We were so close to shops, food, transit, a library and found walking to explore other neighbourhoods was easy. The space was clean and comfortable and we found it easy to relax and unwind in the space. Thanks for the great trip!

Our stay at the Tuscan Retreat was great! We found the neighborhood to be an amazing place! The rental is as described, with very comfortable beds and linens. The bathrooms and kitchen need updating but were clean and met our needs. Internet access would have been nice, but the coffee shop is close by. We walked through all of the surrounding neighborhoods and enjoyed being part of a whole different world than small town USA. The location is terrific and you truly cannot believe how quiet this residential neighborhood is.The weather was fabulous during our visit so we enjoyed the roof top deck everyday. The view is amazing and Twin Peaks is just on the horizon! We relied solely on public transportation, which was convenient. I have to admit we were a bit taken back, when we first arrived off of BART from the airport. But we had no trouble and felt safe everywhere we went. We used BART after a night game at AT&T park, and the walk from the station was not threatening at all. If you take the Market Street Car, be sure to have $1.00 bills in your pocket to ride. The neighborhood has incredible restaurants and the prices were great, so affordable compared to staying in the city, and yet the city is just a few stops away. Robert was very helpful in answering questions before we arrived and was extremely accommodating! We would definitely stay again.

What a great find! It was very centrally located - 3.5 blocks from the BART, and even closer to the bus. We had no trouble getting around the city using a 3 day Muni pass, and rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus, trolly, or electric bus. The cable cars were another story, but to be expected. The rooftop patio is WONDERFUL! We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from there while sipping some fine wine. While on the roof, you could barely hear anything, especially during the weekdays/nights. It appears that there is going to be a great stereo there soon, and the entertainment center had lots of good movies, and CDs. The only (minor) drawback, is that there are lots of stairs. By the time you are on the rooftop, you have been up 3 flights from the street. Not a big deal to us, but others should know. The 3rd bedroom is not the best for a couple, as it only has 2 double beds (which was stated on the listing). Otherwise, there was everything we needed there; coffee maker, all the dishes, glasses, and silverware. A large fridge (with ice-maker), stovetop, oven, microwave and toaster. A wonderful time was had by everyone, and we all highly recommend it, and stay there again.

              Year Purchased: 1996

About the owner: Greetings and welcome to San Francisco and my home. My name is Robert and I am a San Francisco native growing up in the SOMA district (South of Market). I attended grammar school, high school and earned my MBA all within the confines of The City. I guess you can say I am truly a native son. San Francisco is my home and I love it. Even though I have lived here for decades, somehow The City still manages to take my breath away. Despite its relatively small size and its intimate neighborhood feel, it is world class in almost every aspect. The City keeps one foot firmly grounded in its historic past, while the other foot continually steps forward to renew itself. I hope you get the opportunity to experience The City and all it has to offer during your stay. Fully enjoy its history – its culture – its diversity and, of course, it's spectacular restaurants, entertainment and attractions. Again, welcome and I hope you come to love San Francisco as much as I do.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
This is an easy one – literally everything you could want is nearby, typically within easy walking distance. Additionally, the vast majority of the shops and stores in San Francisco, particularly the Mission District, are truly unique. You won't find "Big Box" stores and franchise outlets here. It's local and that's great.
