I brought my family of 4, kids 7 and 9, to Macaws and we had a great time. The condo was better than expected, and lived up to the advertisement. It was very clean and accessible. We were less than a 2 minute walk to the best beach we visited in Costa Rica and the close proximity to groceries, restaurants and downtown was perfect. My family and I wanted to experience the country outside of the "resort" and it was perfect for that. We rented a car from San Jose and driving was very easy. Getting to Jaco, follow the signs to Manuel Antonio (it is 60km south of Jaco). We met some wonderful other guests visiting who, along with the owners recommendations, made our vacation one to remember. We went with Rafa the father of the monkeys guy (awesome monkey tour) and the zipline and horseback tours at Los suenos were fantastic. Unfortunately, the snorkeling on the West side of the country is not good. Sunset at the villa caletas (north of Jaco 10km) is also a great thing to see, they have an amphitheater to view the sunset. Cabs to downtown were very reasonable, and you can walk to downtown as well, if you wanted to. Richard, the owner, was fantastic to work with and he was in constant contact throughout the process. I could not have been happier with their Condo or how they took care of us. This is truly a place I would recommend ANYONE to go to. We loved is and I hope you do too.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at this condo during our first trip to Costa Rica. The condo is beautiful, very clean, and large. Located on the second floor with a fabulous balcony overlooking the pool. When we weren't eating our weight in fish tacos in Jaco, we had dinner and drinks on the balcony. Everything you need is in the condo- full kitchen, great master suite, and flat screen TV's. The property manager met us when we arrived and showed us around the complex and gave us some great tips on things to do. Location is great. Walking distance to down town, or a $3-$4 cab ride. We rented a car, though not a necessity, and there is a designated parking spot in front of the complex. We wanted a car to explore as much as we could, and we had no trouble driving all over Costa Rica. I recommend ziplining, going to Villa Caletas for a drink at sunset, and spending a day onthe beach at Manuel Antonio. Richard the owner is an excellent host, and gave us great tips on restaraunts and sightseeing spots. We loved Costa Rica and plan to return and hope to stay in the same unit!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The property in Jaco is truly beautiful inside and out. The grounds, pool, walkways are very clean, well lit and inviting. The staff at the facility are very friendly and accommodating of us English speaking folks. The unit itself is large (two bedrooms and three baths), airy, and has everything you need including beachtowels :). The unit is clean well furnished and very well maintained. A 2-3 minute walk puts you on the gorgeous beach and a short $3 cab ride if you don't want to drive puts you downtown. There are far too many great restaurants to single out any one in particular and there are no shortage of little bars and other entertainment. Loved it...we will be back.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About: We stayed in this very condo, Macaws Ocean Club#10 on our first visit to Costa Rica and impressed with the quality, comfort and security of the place went about convincing the then owner to part with it. We love it as a base for discovering the beauty that is Costa Rica.
Why Jaco:
We fell in love with Costa Rica for its warm People, Weather, Waterfalls, Sloths, Macaws, Toucans, Volcanoes and Amazing Beaches ~ all well within reach. This will be our eight month a year home when we retire.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Quiet morning sunrise walks or runs on the beach and a quick wake up dip in the sea, then back for a quick shower and hot coffee on the dining balcony of balconies at Macaws Ocean Club #10.
