Meet other family members or friends for a reunion and enjoy 3 floors of living. You have two family rooms, two dining areas, a loft, and a huge newly added game room for hanging out together, and then you can each have privacy on one of the three floors, all with bedrooms & baths. Enjoy the luxury of oak hardwood floors, ceramic tile, granite & stainless steel in the kitchen, sky lights in two of the bathrooms, a huge soaking tub, new gas fireplace and new gas stove. If you didn't leave the house for your whole vacation, you wouldn't have a boring moment with all the fun things to do in the home. Literally everything is provided for you to have the best vacation ever.
Newly Renovated: Most of the home is newly renovated - painting/staining, floors, kitchen (granite & stainless), new ceramic towel floors and game room with pool table, air hockey table, game table, exec. desk with desk-top computer & flat screen TV, new large fully-supplied laundry room. Basement FR has huge Amish cherry entertainment center with flat screened TV, Xbox 360 Kinect (with many family friendly games), and DVD player with about 40 movies. Blue comfortable leather furniture.
First Floor and loft: Enjoy first floor great room with high cathedral ceilings with floor to ceiling glass doors & windows to enjoy nature at its best and views of the ski slopes all lit up. The family room has cabin furniture that rocks and reclines for comfort while you enjoy the gas fire place and large flat screen TV with extended programing, on demand and HBO. The fully-stocked kitchen and large dining table are in this same area for entertainment. There are two sets of sliding glass doors from this great room to a beautiful wrap around deck with nice furniture and a gas grill again great for entertainment. Down the hall is a full bathroom, a guest bedroom with two twin beds and the gorgeous master bedroom suite. Its bathroom is huge with double sinks, large soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. It also has sliding glass doors to the rear deck. From the great room, look up and see a beautiful loft with another dining area and decorated Christmas tree (seasonally). Beyond the loft is a lovely queen bedroom suite with its own bathroom and walkin closet - very private & romantic.

It was a pure pleasure working with owner Lynn. She was prompt, efficient and so friendly. Lynn gave us alot of great information in an email that we could bring with us regarding all the appliances, doors, fireplace, tv etc. The house is so well kept, clean and beautifully decorated. We loved bbqing on the front porch with the pretty view of the mountains and neighborhood. There were 9 of us and we were all very comfortable. We ziplined, hiked, and went to the really nice driving range nearby. We played pool and got to watch the final four on the huge TV in living room. There is also a water park and go carts that we did not have time for but would check out next time. All appliances and TVs worked perfectly. The kitchen is well equipped. We would certainly return to this house in the future. Thank you Lynn and lovely Massenuten. Our visit was a fabulous birthday celebration for my son. We just ended our second stay at this gorgeous chalet. I don't know why anyone would rent any other place on the resort. This chalet is perfect. It is sparkling clean, completely stocked with all of those things you didn't remember to pack, and perfect for our teens and tweens. Lynn is a pleasure to work with and rent from. She obviously takes incredible care of the house and has even made improvements over the past year, including the bunks in the kids' room, the fireplace, and the basement heating. The cedar chalet is hands down the best house to rent on the mountain. We’ve rented several in years past, but this is the only we come back to time and time again. My family loves this home and the owner Lynn! She is just an incredible owner to work with. On top of things, glad to answer questions and also be a vacation planner! The house is cozy, airy, and bright. Lots of natural light floods in the windows in the main great room. There are fabulous outdoor areas to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Everything in the house is very, very well taken care for and all those little details you expect are there for you. The house is super clean. The kitchen is stocked with quality utensils, cooking implements and more. The beds are super comfy. The towels are fluffy and soft. The location of the house is superb – close to everything the resort has to offer – skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, ice skating, an indoor/outdoor water park (open year round), zip-lining and ropes course, golf, swimming, fishing, hiking trails, chair lift rides, mini golf, go-karts and more! Close to James Madison University, civil war sites and natural caverns. Don’t forget to look up in the night sky when you are there. The stars are amazing!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I planned a brief weekend getaway for a group of our friends (six adults and 1 child) and we had an amazing time! The house was everything it was described to be and more! It was well equipped with ample sleeping space, bathrooms, tv's, games, and the kitchen was also well-stocked with anything you would need! You also can't ask for a better location! We were are able to see the ski slopes from the wrap around deck and the house was just a short drive away from many attractions, including wineries, restaurants and Luray Caverns. In addition, Lynn was so great to work with and was willing to answer my every question! I can't wait to head back to this chalet for another relaxing vacation!Did you find this review helpful? My family and I have been coming up to Resort for the last 6 years. We mostly come up during the winter, because we have teenagers and grandchildren who love to snowboard. We rent for the entire season.We have stayed in some pretty bad places that were suppose to have been clean and well taken care of. When I contacted the owner of this wonderful property I received only the truth and no sales pitch,everything that was said is true and then some.To the special treats, to the very clean home is a small part of the special care you will get from the owners. They live locally and will go out of their way to make sure they fill your every need. Don't worry about spices etc, they are there.Enjoy the Keurig maker and other features of the home. This home can be enjoyed by the entire family ,something for all. We loved spending our Christmas and NewYears there. It was very nicely done. Tree and all. I would check out of the Ritz and into this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was our first visit to Massanutten Resort. We arrived a few minutes early & met Lynn & Bob, who gave us a personal tour of their chalet. The home was extremely clean and roomy. The Chalet is beautifully furnished. Our two grandsons (5 & 7) loved seeing all of the deer and especially enjoyed the game room. We hope to come back again & will definitely try to rent this beautiful chalet.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We cannot say enough about this beautiful home. Our family of 10 traveled from southern VA and upstate New York for our annual summer vacation. We enjoyed the waterpark, the ski lift to the top of he mountain, disc golf, afternoon walks near the golf corse, the many pools, and even traveling into Harrisonburg just 10-15 minutes away. Even with all of the activities at the resort, we were also content to relax and enjoy each other in this super clean, accommodating, comfortable home. Our 4 teenaged boys loved having their own space downstairs with the bunk room, XBox, pool table and two TVs. The adults relished our time on the front porch for morning coffee and afternoon cookouts. The Keurig was a big hit and we found everything we needed to prepare our meals at home in this well-appointed kitchen. Huge bonus, all 10 of us fit nicely around the large dinning table (using the extra leaf and chairs). Everything stated and pictured on the home listing is on point. Lynn was so helpful and welcoming. We hope to enjoy more visits to Cedar Chalet!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

About the owner: I'm a retired woman living in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. I grew up in the mountains of PA and have always loved the mountains and being out-of-doors so this is the perfect area to retire to. I'm hoping that our guests enjoy our home on their vacations as much as we have loved it through the years.
Why the Owner Chose Massanutten Resort:
We came to Massanutten from Northern VA for a resort promotion weekend and wound up falling in love with the place. Our home was a vacation home for us until I retired and then we moved to the area. We just opened it up as a vacation rental this month (Nov 11).
