  Hi Nancy and Rob, Let me begin by saying thank you so much for allowing us into your home and sharing a piece of your life just for a little bit. We all love the condo and the amenities that came with it. We didn't feel welcomed when we arrived at the airport in Belize City and also Tropic Air. It all changed once we met Aby who picked us up from the airport and everyone else at Grand Caribe, it became a wonderful experience. The people are so lovely and the premises are beautiful, peaceful, and far exceeded our expectations upon arrival. We are planning another trip to Belize and we just arrived this morning that is how much we fell in love with the place and its people. Oh by the way my husband was so happy when he saw that you and Rob had books written by Stephen King, James Patterson, and Sidney Sheldon. Those are his three favorite authors. : ) Sincerely, Keila I would recommend this place to people who want to get away with their family, spouse, or just friends wanting to go on vacation. The listing description is accurate regarding the location. The pictures are also accurate when it comes to the rental property and its amenities. Someone came in everyday to clean the condo when we were out. The owners are very helpful answering any questions whether via email or over the phone. The restaurant we ate at were Aji, Portofino, Cowboy's Doug Bar and Grill, and Carambas. We went there to relax so we didn't go on any excursions although we are planning another vacation where we will venture out and go on some of the excursions.

  We have been to Ambergris Cay 4 times and this was by far the BEST. We prefer to stay in condos and sometimes interior amenities are minimal. Not at this unit. You have everything you need to have the vacation you are hoping for. From the equipped kitchen to the laundry services you want for nothing. The view from the balcony is top notch.We sat out every evening with our wine and talked about when we could return. All of the furniture was very comfortable as well as beautiful. You looked forward to "coming home" after a day of excursions or just simply enjoying the pool as well as the people we met. The staff at the Grand Caribe are there to do everything they can to make your stay a truly memorable vacation that you can't wait to do again. I do recommend that you do your excursions from the Grand Caribe concierge. They are eager to help you choose the right day trip for you. Nancy is awesome. Very prompt with response to your emails and questions. We had the pleasure of meeting her at the pool, she found us by seeing us with her beach towels, We instantly knew why everything is so perfect. She delights in knowing you are happy and have everything you need or want. Finally, whether you have been to Ambergris or not, you will not be disappointed if you choose this condo for your vacation.The reality is that the pictures are not misleading, Grand Caribe is gorgeous.As a matter of fact we honestly could not find anything negative about Grand Caribe and most especially this unit.

  THEY DID MY LAUNDRY EVERY DAY!! OK, that is the most important detail for me! Honestly, this condo at The Grand Caribe was perfect for my family of four. It was clean, totally quiet, with beautiful views yet very private. Prior to my arrival, all my questions were answered within a couple of hours via email from the delightful owner. The Grand Caribe offers anything, everything you would want...or they stay out of your hair if you prefer. They would go pick up our grocery list and be back within an hour. The location is perfect, the perfect (short) distance from town. We rented a golf cart for the whole time and enjoyed a mix of scheduled tours and our own adventures. (P.S. Cave tubing is not all its cracked up to be - a gigantic tourist melee) The food in Belize - from the coolers and grills on the side of the road to the nicest restaurants - is amazing. The spirit of the country cannot be described. Friendly, safe, loving, so happy, peaceful. Is there a limit on how much I can write??

  We have rented several condos in various tropical destinations and this one was more than we had previously experienced or expected. We thought it was an excellent value for the price and the entire property was in top condition... it was like brand new. We were told that it was built about four years ago. The staff was very friendly and helpful... they treated us like we were family… I’m not kidding. The condo itself was larger than expected, had a great floor plan, large kitchen and bath spaces and a great view of the pool area and the ocean from the balcony. We used the kitchen to prepare about half of our meals and found everything we needed as far as cookware, utensils and kitchen gadgets. Though they sell bottled water in the lobby, I drank the filtered water and used the ice from the door of the full size refrigerator and had no problems. My wife and I are quite particular about the cleanliness of the rooms when we travel. The maids here are fantastic and this is probably the cleanest place we have ever stayed. When we were out on the balcony in the morning we could see the maids collecting blossoms from plants around the property and later in the day find these same blossoms strategically placed inside the condo. Nice touch.

  We consider ourselves very fortunate to have stayed at the Grand Caribe in San Pedro. The Condo was Beautiful even nicer than the pictures !!! We arrived to a beautiful display of flowers, and nicely decorated bedrooms and bathrooms. the staff were awesome. The owers of our condo were very friendly, answering many of our questions and gave us great advice about what to do and what not to do in Belize. The landscape was very appealing and well mantained.

  The accommodation was truly superior and the staff at Grand Caribe were exceptional. We were right on the beach with easy access to San Pedro by water taxi and great local restaurants. We even had good fishing off the pier. I would recommend this accommodation to all travellers.

  A great place to hang out in San Pedro. The bed was comfy lots of space in the condo - nice view of the ocean. Everything you ever wanted in a vacation home. We loved the staff at this place they were super friendly and accommodating. Would stay there again.

  Hi Nancy, Thank you for renting us your Belize dream home for the week. It's decorated beautifully. What a delight when we were greeted with the flowers and palms on the beds and around the condo. The front bedroom with view of the pools and reef is spectacular. My brother Bill and Kate won the coin toss and got that room first. On Wednesday Walt and I moved to the front room. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. e liked the restaurants you suggested and also had a lovely Friday night dinner with live music at Capricorn. Thanks again for the use of your condo.   The condo was exceptional. Tastefully decorated with local art; beautiful expansive kitchen thoroughly updated. Ceiling fans keep the condo cool. Televisions and wi-fi if you want to remain in-touch. The main pool was exceptional and massive. The front desk staff were always helpful. The condo was kept immaculately clean with daily service. The concierge was quite helpful. There were supposed to be kayaks; we were told they were damaged and replacements not received yet. If kayaking matters, it would be worth checking before you go. This condo has exceptional view of the ocean, but you can not see the sunrise from the deck. Its a very short walk to the beach and dock to see the gorgeous hues. This condo is walkable to town. But its a hike. We rented a golf cart one day. Took taxi's to town for a special dinner. Taxi ride costs seem to depend on weather. It was more expensive in rain than it was on a nice day at the beginning of the trip. You would be well served to rent a cart if you plan on going to town more than a time or two. Water taxi's come every 2 hours. Amigo del mar, the best dive shop I've ever used, picks up at the dock. The bar is mediocre. During our trip no one came around to our beach chairs to offer drinks. The wait staff for breakfast was not pleasant on either day we ate there. The food was fine, but just fine. The single beverage we had from the bar was ok, but the person making it was irritated at a customer who had called so was not very friendly. We didn't go back. The bar could make more money if they would be pleasant to the guests and make an effort. Except for the bar, this is an exceptional location and we will return over and over again. Highly recommend.

  The condo was awesome and the pool with the swim up bar a lot of fun. Melody at the front desk was very helpful and Charlotte at the bar and grill made some good food. Snorkeling at shark and stingray alley was very cool. We would recommend renting a golf cart for the week. We would love to go back again!!

  What a wonderful place! This condo is fantastic...everything you need for a week in paradise. Beautifully decorated...the complex is wonderful, large pools, great beach, weather was fantastic every day. Everyone is so nice at Grand Caribe too...very helpful. Definitely reco a golf cart to get around...but great restaurants within walking distance too...Aji, Capricorn, Palapa. Had wonderful massages on the beach at Las Terrazas. Snorkeling at Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley was unbelievable (booked right through Grand Caribe, guides were amazing). We rented a car one day and made our own tour to Xanatunich ruins & Belize Zoo (less expensive then the tours). Other restaurants we loved were Elvi's Kitchen, Caramba's, Sunset, and Blue Water for Sushi. And don't miss Ice Cream at DandE's!! This Condo and Grand Caribe are definitely the BEST OF THE BEST...don't miss it, book your paradise now!! Thanks again to Nancy and Rob for sharing their home!!

  You can stop searching for places to stay on Ambergis Caye and book this beautiful condo. It's in a perfect location for a relaxing vacation , easily accessible to San Pedro by bicycle, water taxi or golf cart. The condo is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean, and has an amazing view of the water. We were very impressed with the staff at Grand Caribe and how they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We really appreciated how promptly Nancy returned our emails and she made the arrival, check in and check out extremely easy.

  My husband and I stayed at this gorgeous condo for our honeymoon in October 2011. The pictures of the condo were amazing but could not compare to how stunning this condo was in person. The condo is spacious, immaculate, modern and very romantic. The views are spectacular and the pool was lovely. The people of Belize are so kind and fun loving. The front desk and pool bar employees went above and beyond to help us navigate our way around and book wonderful tours. The owners made us feel so welcome in their home and sent us a book with all the information regarding the condo and also suggestions for everything from restaurants and grocery stores to tours and activities. We would personally recommend Amigos Del Mar for any snorkeling and diving tours. We also loved the atmosphere of the Palapa Bar and Grill and suggest having a romantic dinner at Capricorn for couples. We had a wonderful week full of memories and would not hesitate to return to Belize and this luxurious condo.

  I booked this unit at the Grand Caribe when I was looking for a great fun-in-the-sun getaway for my 40th birthday. My boyfriend is a seasoned diver and former marine scientist and I was getting SCUBA certified, so great diving for both novices and pros was also a must. I didn't know what to expect, but after reading the great reviews here I had high expectations. I have to say, they were exceeded. The amazing staff was ready to help with our every need. The concierge not only helped my boyfriend find a great waterfront dining spot for my birthday dinner but also arranged to have a birthday cake and balloons delivered--AMAZING! The food at the Grand Caribe restaurant was good and remarkably inexpensive. The facilities were simply amazing, from the well-appointed units much nicer than any place I've ever stayed (or even lived in), incredibly comfortable bed (we found ourselves pulling up the sheets to find out the make and model of the mattress), beautiful balconies overlooking the pool and Caribbean (did I mention that that pool is the largest in Belize?)...it was all out of a dream. I was a bit worried that the place would be overrun with guests but often we were just one of a handful of people by the pool, or the only ones (there's so much to do on Ambergris that we didn't spend a lot of time lounging by the pool, and I guess that's true of most people! But after a dive it was a great spot to unwind). We even had fun snorkeling around the dock in the late afternoons. We also appreciated the location. It was about a 15 minute bike ride into town along a dirty road or beach path, which was the perfect distance to remove ourselves from the hubbub downtown (not that downtown San Pedro is bustling by far--it's a lovely little town!). At night we'd sit in the dark by the water's edge, look at the stars, see the lights of San Pedro in the distance and be glad that we were away from it all--especially when people we met who were staying in town talked about being kept awake all night by the disco blaring next door. Grand Caribe was nice, quiet, and peaceful. By day we'd cycling into town for a dive and hit some of the great dining spots in town for lunch (Waraguma!!!! Oh their shrimp tacos...! Best conch fritters in the world at El Fogon!!), by night we'd have light appetizers at one of the many great dining spots within a stone's throw of the Grand Caribe. Thank you Grand Caribe for an amazing, memorable 40th birthday week! We'll definitely be back!!!!

  This amazing condo has the "decorator touch" with an amazing view. We loved everything about our stay and have stayed at this condo an additional 2 times. We have tried others but have to say this condo has the best of everything, kitchen is state of the art and fully equipped, the bedrooms have beautiful linens and comfortable bedding, the living room and dining room are incredibly beautiful with all the comforts of home. We cannot wait to return! Plus the Grand Caribe staff is most accommodating, adding to the charm and pleasure of this condo/resort.

  This place is amazing - the perfect blend of luxury amenities and laid-back island culture. The condo is beautifully furnished, clean, comfortable, and full of natural light. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, and the balcony is the perfect place to enjoy it. We spent many mornings lounging at the lovely pool (& and swim-up bar). The Grand Caribe staff were super-friendly and willing to help out with anything from setting up a scuba expedition to arranging a trip to Tikal in Guatemala. The location of the property is great - it's quiet, yet you can walk a short distance to restaurants including some of the best BBQ we've ever had, a cool health food lunch spot/beachside bar, and even a romantic upscale restaurant. Downtown is a bike ride away or you can take a water taxi for a few bucks. Our favorite food downtown were the pupusas & lobster burritos as big as your head (you can't miss the ladies making pupusas in front of the shop)! We can't wait to come back for another relaxing & adventurous stay!

  This is the ONE resort where I’ve found the reviews are “truely” accurate. Grand Caribe actually exceeded my expectations…..and they are high! This is a VERY nice resort, located directly on the beach, with FABULUOUS views of the Caribbean! Every condo has a great view, even the ones that aren’t advertised as “ocean front.” So take a tip and save yourself some money ….. rent “ocean view.” My wife and I stayed in a second level, ocean view condo and it had wonderful, unobstructed views….just as the write up described! The staff at Grand Caribe were very nice and helped us arrange just about everything; in-country airline reservations, golf cart rental, dive trips, they even paid for transportation to and from the airstrip! The staff also helped me surprise my wife by making the unit very romantic (flower petals, champagne). It worked! The condo is new……I mean BRAND new and so are the furnishings! It is very spacious, with top-of-the-line everything: Belizean made mahogany furniture, high-end artwork and oil paintings, stainless steel appliances, granite counters…you name it. This place was nicer than any home I’ve ever lived in! If you are looking for luxury, great staff, and don’t mind paying a little extra for it, this is the place! The resort is the best distance possible from the town: 10 minutes by golf cart, so you can go there to have dinner....and far enough so you don’t have to worry about the noise of town. A lot of nights we walked north on the beach to have dinner. There are many restaurants that are quite good. The place was perfect in my opinion. Oh yeah….the pools were HUGE and very clean and with 3 of them, they never felt crowded. Drinks are served at the swim up bar! What can be better than that?!

  What a great experience! We wanted a restful, beautiful vacation spot--and we weren't disappointed! The condo is gorgeous, decorated in a quiet, casual elegance, which is depicted in the photos. The Grand Caribe staff are friendly, efficient and seem to be genuinely interested in ensuring that you are enjoying your time on Ambergris, whether you want to relax with cocktails at one of the pools or have a more adventuresome day of scuba diving. Grand Caribe is just far enough from the bustle of San Pedro to be the perfect spot for quiet walks on the beach and still close enough to go into town as frequently as you like to visit shops, restaurants and bars. The photos and information presented in the owners' descriptions are truly accurate--we enjoyed it so much that we are making plans to return soon!

  My husband and I stayed in this unit for a week in the Spring of 2010, and I stayed again for a week in February 2011. We had the most relaxing vacation ever. The unit is very well equipped with everything one might need for a week away, with beautiful decor as an added bonus. The unit owner's also provided a very helpful "Welcome" pamphlet loaded with more information about Ambergris, including answers to any questions we had about the condominium itself or about the Town of San Pedro. The unit is located on a very quiet stretch of beach, but is also well within walking or biking distance to San Pedro's town center...just over one mile, as I recall. Additionally, there were wonderful restaurants within walking distance either north or south of the condo project. You will love this unit and your stay in Belize!

  We had an amazing week in Belize and we couldn't have stayed at a more beautiful and accommodating condo on Ambergris Caye. The location was perfect due to it's quiet beach setting, while at the same time only about a mile's walk or bike ride into town for shopping and dining out. Every amenity was available; breakfast balcony overlooking the pool and beach, fully equipped kitchen, and lovely interiors. The owner's "Welcome" guide was particularly helpful in getting around town and Ambergris Caye. It was a perfect getaway vacation!

  Spent a great week here. Beautiful condo in a beautiful complex right on the ocean. Dive shop just down the beach. San Pedro is a short juant from the condo and has lot's of great restaurants, bars, shops and other places to explore. I can't recommend this property highly enough.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
