My wife and I decided to take a vacation without our son for the first time since he was born wanted to stay in a home for a little more privacy versus a resort or hotel. While searching, we came across Pirate's Quarter and were very impressed by the pictures and location so we decided to give it a shot.....and we are SO glad we did. The house was absolutely amazing!! The finishes and furniture were beautiful. The kitchen/living room has wood floors with high vaulted ceilings, a full size fridge and computer with internet. The shower was awesome with several shower heads and the bed was really comfortable. We loved sitting in the front yard under the trees enjoying either a cup of coffee in the morning and a cold beer in the evening. Pirate's Quarter is set up with everything you need such as pots, pans, plates, glasses, beach towels, rain jackets, bikes, outdoor grill….too much to list. You honestly just need to bring your suitcase and toothbrush. As for the location, you can not beat it! It is close to Duval, the beach and some amazing restaurants such as Blue Heaven and Columbia Grace. If you drive, street parking is readily available and the owners will provide you with a parking pass. Honestly, once you park your car, you will not need it until you leave since everything is so close. And I saved the best review for last.......the owners. Dave and Heather are the most gracious host we have ever come across. They were extremely helpful and courteous from the time we booked our trip and even after we left Key West (my wife left some clothing behind and they did not hesitate to ship them back to us). They made us feel like we were part of their family and we hope we can remain friends with them. My wife and I have been visiting Key West for the past 10 years and will NEVER stay at any place other than Pirate's Quarter. It offers the best of Key West!

We returned this fall to the Pirates Quarters. It was every bit as wonderful the second time!- Dave & Heather added new awnings, shutters and a washer and dryer. It is truly a home away from home. They are wonderful hosts - and we love their pups! Helps us not to be homesick for our dog. Can't wait to come back next year!!

I came down to Key West in May and stayed in the "Pirate's Quarters" at Dave and Heather's - I fell in love right away! I was so very impressed at how amazing the accommodations were -- I loved the layout. From the private (and AMAZING) bathroom and bedroom, to the separate living room and kitchen, not to mention the fantastic outdoor patio area...all were perfect! The location was also fantastic and so close to everything and anything I could think of to spend my time doing while in KW. I rented a bicycle for my time there and used it to go everywhere, but I also walked to many spots too, as I quickly learned everything is very close! I would highly recommend renting out the Pirate's Quarters while in Key West -- Dave and Heather were amazing hosts (and a plethera of KW knowledge!) and I know I will be coming down and staying here again very soon!!

Staying in Bahama Village for the first time in 8 Key West winters was one of the best decisions we have made in a long time. We've tried Truman Annex, Golf Club, Olivia St, and some other locations in previous years but this property is so true to the Key West spirit that it made it special. Great neighborhood, great neighbors and super great landlords.

The house was just perfect for 2, it has everything you could want. In the evenings you can sit out in the front yard and enjoy a beautiful night looking at the stars . Duval street is just a quick walk away with shopping, bars, resturants , and the beach. The night life is so exciting just walking the streets and seeing all that goes on is just something you need to see for yourself. There is something for everyone you comes to enjoy a vacation.

We love this place, the charm, cleanliness and the great location. My husband and I had a wonderful month staying here (June 2011) in the cottage. It was close to everything we needed. We enjoyed using the bikes to see the island, do some shopping and of course checking out the many restraunts and bars for entertainment!! Mornings were very relaxing having coffee in the courtyard under the tree. The greatroom was very comfortable with the tall ceiling and a large flat screen TV. The bathroom was awsome with a real tree used in the decor. This property was well maintained and very comfortable.

I stayed at this location for spring break 2010 and liked it so much I came back in 2011. The house has a excellent location (no need for rental car) within walking distance of all the tourist attractions. Loved the use of the bikes. The neighbors were very friendly. The house was clean and well maintained. The owners were helpful, kind and full of excellent information about Key West and its history. I loved the feel of old town Key West and would defiantly recommend this house and look forward to future returns.

We have been coming to Key West for 10 years and stayed in numerous hotels, B & B's and other VRBO houses. We have just spent a month there and we are booking now for next year. The Pirate's Quarters is by far the best place we have stayed. The listing is accurate- the great room is huge-all of the amenities are in good working order. The kitchen is clean and the cupboards are stocked with everything you need to cook the perfect meal or make the perfect Margarita!! The bedroom is so cool- you need a ladder to get into the beautiful bed with the best mattress we've ever slept in. The closets are spacous. The bathroom has a tree in it, and the shower is big enough for two!!! Dave and Heather are wonderful people. They are locals - they can answer any question you can possibly have. Their home is located right in the Bahamian village- the neighbours are friendly and before long you will be getting a hello and a wave. The location is the best on the island- You are just down the street from Blue Heaven (if you haven;t had the Lobster Eggs Benny there you are in for a treat!). Just a couple of streets away is local favourite -The Green Parrot. The have great entertainment all the time. You are a 5 minute walk from Duval Street- so you are close enough to walk but far enough to get away from the craziness of the place!!! We would recommend this VRBO to our friends and relatives without hesitation. It is the Best Kept Secret in Key West

We thoroughly enjoyed our month long stay in June of 2010. The property is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well appointed. There is a locally owned carry out just a minute away for staple items and cold "refreshments". The bikes were an added bonus, as we could get to Ft. Zachary State Park, The Green Parrot, and to Mallory Square in just a few minutes. The owner of this property is very easy to work with. I would highly reccommend this property to anyone looking for a unique, comfortable, relaxing stay.

We stayed at this property in April 2010 and had a wonderful time! This property surpassed our expectations and we have recommended it to many of our friends and family! The cottage is completely updated with beautiful furnishings, appliances and large flat screen TVs in the living area and the bedroom. The home and the outdoor courtyard are extremely well maintained. The bathroom is “spa-like” with a multi-jet shower that was amazing! The cottage is located in the heart of Bahama Village. It was only blocks away from excellent restaurants, shopping, bars and Duval Street. I would highly recommend a stroll to the well known Key West restaurant, Blue Heaven, for breakfast which is only a block away. A tour of the Key West landmark Hemingway House which is conveniently located a block away, is also a must. We are looking forward to our next visit to Key West and we will definitely be staying at this property!
