You might be seeking accommodation for a Eugene event such as the Oregon Bach Festival or the Olympic Trials, or you might be vacationing in the Pacific NW ~ Tipi Village Retreat is always a sanctuary to come home to, as well as a unique lodging experience, featuring tipis, cabins and rooms.
Located in the Mohawk Valley only a half hour from Eugene, we are perfectly positioned for adventure. There are beautiful day-trip destinations to the North, East, West and South - may they be on two or four wheels. And at the end of a full day of adventure, imagine settling around the fire with your friends after an exquisite salmon dinner by the creek, then moving over to the warming water of the in-ground Spa under a starry sky.
Tipi Village provides an idyllic setting for group retreats, family reunions, weddings and other celebrations. We can accommodate up to 28 guests, with exclusive use of the grounds and all amenities for the duration of the event.
During the cooler months of October through May we offer the Studio, the Master Suite and the Cabin in the Woods. They are open year-round. The tipis and the Garden Cottage are open June through September.
The tipis all have beautiful stone floors with rugs, and like all other dwellings, they feature comfortable beds with down comforters and wool blankets to keep warm in cool summer nights.
The Master Suite and the Studio have their own bathrooms - the tipis and cabins share the centrally located bath house with two baths. A fifth bathroom is available in the main house. All beds are queen size, with the exception of the Garden Cottage with its twin beds.
Breakfast is served either by the creek or on the patio. Your stay includes a gourmet breakfast, including organic free-range eggs from our own chickens. Ken also cooks up an amazing Spanish Paella fest in the outdoor kitchen for dinners, by prior arrangement.
Time takes on a different meaning in the forest. You feel yourself relax into a slower pace - into the here and now of birds singing and water flowing. If you sit still, you can observe the wild flock of quail, the occasional pheasant or the wild turkeys and deer coming through on their daily wanderings. In the spring we see elk bulls grazing at the edge of the forest, and in the fall Oregon Chinook salmon is swimming upstream in our Mill Creek. - If you sit still, you will experience nature's silence and stillness enter your consciousness. You will find an atmosphere of respect among these tall trees - respect for the Land, the Keepers of the Land and for Mother Nature.
Keywords: Tipi Village Retreat is both a village and a retreat, well suited for individual travelers and groups up to 28.

Tipi Village is an amazing place to have a wedding. Ken and Susanne are lovely, supportive hosts. My family and friends were blown away by the beauty of the land, kindness of the hosts, and elegant natural surroundings. A year later, they are still talking about it, asking if we can get married again. What an incredible experience with two beautiful people on a truly special site.Did you find this review helpful? AMAZING doesn't even begin to explain it. All of your hard work - tiling the hot tub 'til the wee hours of the morning, contructing Crazy Horse, creating that fabulous menu of fresh, scrumptious food, and just plain being the most gracious of hosts made our wedding weekend P E R F E C T. Every so often in life you find a Treasure - a place that speaks to your soul, a person with whom you connect from the heart. For me Ken, you and the Tipi Village are that Treasure! I've never felt so at home, away from home. Thank you for helping me complete my journey. Without you, none of it would have been possible. Now, every time I think of you and the Village, I smile and look forward to the day I return. Sending you love, always.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: Ken and Susanne stepped out of their very different worlds and came together on this special piece of land by the creek in the mid 90's. Susanne grew up in Germany and she chose the land for its natural beauty and its proximity to her good friend Holly. Ken had moved from New York and brought with him his long-standing love for tipis, cooking, and bringing people together. They built the house, started the gardens, the Garden Cottage, the Studio, then added two tipis - but it was not a retreat until they could annex the forest behind the house, and became 'guardians' for the old trees. You could literally hear the tall trees whisper: build it and they will come." The Cabin in the Woods and the third tipi followed shortly after, then the bath house, the outdoor kitchen and the patio for outdoor dining and more tipis. At last the retreat was ready - a kind of 'Five Star Tipi B&B". "A very great vision is needed and the man [or woman] who has it must follow it as the eagle seeks the deepest blue of the sky." -- Crazy Horse
Why the Owner Chose Eugene:
It was more like it chose us. It was a vision. We had originally chosen the spot for its natural beauty, but it wanted to be more than just a home for us. How could we keep this just for ourselves? So it prompted us along.......until it was big enough. It was quite simple - like all things meant to be.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
It is a place of healing, in which you connect with nature and with yourself in the sanctity and stillness of the forest and the tipis.
We have introduced a playful Native American theme. All tipis have either names of tribes, like Calapooia Tipi - or Indian Chiefs, such as "Chief Seattle", "Chief Joseph", Chief Sitting Bull" or other Native American personalities like "Hiawatha", "Sacajawea" or "Crazy Horse".
Children especially love this Native American theme - besides that kids love to play in the forest and by the creek. It is a perfect spot of a family retreat, private, secluded, safe and lots to play, with little nature walks or adventure day hikes around the historic Wendling, which is now no more than an overgrown ghost town. the Creek offers swimming holes, wildlife watching and (catch & release) fishing.
The closeness to the nearby culture and sport events in Eugene, as well as the proximity to ocean beaches in the West and the Cascade Mountains in the East, makes Tipi Village Retreat the perfect vacation spot all around.
