It is surrounded by 35 acres of forest, fields ,meadows ,and sandy beach. The 19th century home is on the seashore located on a secluded, unspoiled island hugging the south shore of the vast Saint-Lawrence Estuary and facing the majestic Saguenay Fjiord. Total privacy.
ILE VERTE ("Green Island") is seven and a half miles long and one and a half miles wide. There is an abundance of wild life (it is a bird watchers paradise), plus there are over ten species of whales in the area, and fifteen foot tides. You'll find this island location to be a unique and peaceful haven in a traditional French-speaking community. Access to Ile Verte can be made by a six cars ferry boat at high tide .The island has a general store ,a bar , one restaurant ,and two museums .

This lovely old farmhouse has perserved the traditional character of this quiet, beautiful island. Accessible only by ferry in high tide, the island offers a respite from noise and crowds with wooded trails and friendly, French-speaking residents. The sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.
