Your house was perfect accommodations for us during our time in the SFO area. It was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Loved the wood den--what a cozy room! With all the activities we had going on leading up to our daughter's wedding, it was a great place to unwind at the end of several frantic days. Thanks so much for making it available to us. We definitely recommend it to anyone planning a stay in the area.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This house is the owners' childhood home. The care and love that goes into keeping it as a vacation rental shines. The master suite is very large, then connects through a den with "baywindow" and seat overlooking a meyer lemon tree. The den (hardwood floor with rug) connects to the kitchen and the rest of the house which consists of two large bedrooms, hall +bath, dining room and front sitting room (comfy and carpeted). It is all on one level, except for the laundry room which is down 3-4 steps off the den. As mentioned by multiple other reviews, the grounds are typical belmont hilly and beautifully landscaped. We used the herbs in the garden with the owner's invitation for our Xmas pot roast (yum). There are a lot of stairs outside the home, which my 1 year old enjoyed walking (with assistance). There is ample off-street parking (4 spots) if friends visit. I believe the location does require a car to commute to see sights, allow the caltrain is within a short taxi ride. We previously lived in this area and were visiting family. We do VRBO all the time and have only had truly wonderful experiences. In my opinion, being able to speak with a friendly and responsive owner (like this house's) prior to booking/arrival has been the key to all of our great vacations. Thanks Bill and Susan!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

Our family gathered in this wonderful home for Thanksgiving Week. We could not have had a better experience. The owners were responsive and helpful with our initial reservation and plans. They were present to check us in and give us a detailed walk through. The home was immaculate. The multi-terraced yard with blooming flowers, roses, extensive herb garden, lemon and lime trees was divine. The bedrooms were very roomy with excellent beds and the living areas adequate for us to have dinners for 6 and watch holiday ball games. I am accustomed to more kitchen counter space for food preparation but the kitchen was well stocked with all cookware, dishware, silverware, appliances. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch on the hillside watching hummingbirds. Just down the hill is a complete shopping center with every service needed plus a regular and upscale grocery. We had easy access to I-280, El Camino & 101. Our deposit was credited back to our credit card the day after we checked out. The few glitches we had were addressed by the owners on Thanksgiving day, no less. What more could anyone want? We hope to return to "our" Belmont home on our future trips to visit family.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

We stayed in this lovely house for 12 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well equipped. All the beds were comfortable and the owners generously provided plenty of nice sheets and towels. There was ample space to relax and spread out and a lovely garden to enjoy. The owners provided good customer service and were pleasant to deal with throughout the booking process as well as during our stay. We would definitely recommend this house if you're looking to stay somewhere quiet, outside of San Francisco. The house is conveniently located near shops and restaurants.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a great time in SF and particularly enjoyed going back to our "old" neighborhood - Belmont. Bill and Sue made things very easy for us and accomodated us with some last minute unexpected changes to our itinerary. The house was very clean and had little personal touches that we enjoyed. We enjoyed the fruit and herb garden and the close proximity to the Belmont village. Thxs Bill and Sue!Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing.

This is a perfect place for a family to stay while on vacation!! We have 2 young girls (3 years and 14 months) and the thought of packing the 4 of us into a tiny expensive hotel room for 8 nights was just horrendous. This house has all of the amenities of home including everything from linens and BBQ supplies to wine glasses...and a welcome gift of local wine and sparkling juice to boot! It was so wonderful to be able to unpack all of our things into dressers and closets and feel like we were " at home" while on vacation! In a ranch style home, a "master suite" with a bedroom, bathroom and den was perfect for my parents to be separated from our family of 4, with the kids separated between the other 2 bedrooms! There is plenty of space between the family room, dining room and kitchen, as well! Although we had to do a little bit of "child proofing" before we settled in, it was well worth it! The house was very well-maintained and very clean, with only a couple of loose knobs noted (one on the R side below the sink and one on the R door of the nightstand in the bedroom closest to the kitchen). The flora surrounding the house was spectacular! How wonderful to be greeted every morning by the beautiful aromas of the flowers and fruit trees! The house is located in a great area, with a grocery store, pizza shop, Starbucks and church (and more) all within walking distance! In addition, Route 280 is a 2 minute drive so hopping on and off the highway was really easy for us to enjoy the many attractions of San Francisco! The customer service was awesome! Could not have asked for better! We have already said that we would rent this property again if the opportunity arises and we certainly would recommend this to any friend, relative or stranger...especially anyone with kids!Owner response: This guest was wonderful to work with and we are pleased that she and her family had such a wonderful stay at our home. We really appreciate the feedback on areas of improvement and will resolve all of them very soon.

My family had a wonderful stay at this rental for a week. The property comfortably housed 6 family members for a week. The house was meticulously maintained and has a really beautiful garden. The house was in a convenient location close to highways and a nearby grocery store and shopping center. The owner met us at the property on check-in and carefully explained everything to us. Overall we had a pleasurable stay at this property!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband, daughter and I stayed in this lovely rental for a bit more than a week to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was a perfect stay. The house is comfortable, very clean and very well set up. The interior space is well designed. My daughter plays french horn and we could not hear a note she practiced from our bedroom. The house is especially appealing to cooks. The owners maintain a very large herb garden and numerous fruit trees in the lovely cottage garden which surrounds the house on varied levels. The view from the front porch looking down on the peninsula surrounded by the smells of lavender and lemon is magical. We did not have an opportunity to use the large side terrace and gas grill as we stayed during a particularly rainy period but we did make liberal use of the fruits and herbs in the well appointed kitchen to cook for our granddaughter's first birthday party held in Redwood City. There is also a washer and dryer on site which are very efficient. The property is a an easy and pretty 10 minute walk (well a bit easier down than up but I did it daily on a healing broken foot) from a large shopping plaza with numerous restaurants, two grocery stores, a bank, post office and lots of other shops. The property is owned and maintained by a family who loves it and it shows. I would definitely stay again while in the area.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed at the house for one month. Before we found the house we were looking for a place where we could relax, cook our own food, and do our own laundry. As we were travelling with 2 young children and we knew we would spend a lot of time in the house it needed to be all setup with beds, linnen, kitchen utensils and so forth. We are happy to say that we found all this and much more in the house. Our favourites: -The garden. We used a lot of herbs and fruits from the garden when cooking. It was great sitting on the front porch watching the squirrels and playing games with our kids. We celebrated our daughter´s 4th birthday with a BBQ under the lemon tree and named the backyard bench the "Ice Cream Bench". -The hosts. All communication was easy. When the vacuumer broke down it was replaced the same day. During the last week of our stay there was a problem with the hot water supply. Again, the problem was solved the same day. -The location. Coming from Denmark we are used to get around with our kids by foot as sidewalks are wide and safe. The house is located on a low traffic road. We easily walked to several playgrounds, hiking trails, stores, and a great kids-library.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
