This home, located on top of a knoll in the Dark Hollow foothills South of Medford and West of Talent is just minutes from the I-5 freeway but yet this 10 acre oasis is secluded and private, with decks, lawns, hammocks and a detached game barn with pool table and hot tub.

The detached game room, affectionally called the 'game barn', is a finished, insulated, heated and air conditioned building 250 feet from the main house. It is furnished with a plain but well built pool table, foosball, airhockey, darts, couches and 2 twin beds that can be used for overflow guests for $10 per guest per night.

My family and I had a wonderful time. This is a lovely home. it was clean with all the ammenities had a wonderful selection of fluffy towels, a warm fireplace, super comfy beds, and a view that was perfect. Lucia met us with such a warm heart n made sure we had everything we needed. It was very sweet, she made sure we had a couple of very large bottles of water for our morning coffee. The house had plenty of great firewood. I was amazed to see such nice big screen tv's in all the bedrooms. Best part was having morning coffee on the deck, watching a mommy deer and her baby each morning. She came back each day we were there. We walked the property, it's just a beautiful place and I look forward to coming back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We have stayed in this home two times when visiting Ashland/Jacksonville. It is a comfortable, quiet and easy home with ample room for a family or group of friends. Great place for families. Wonderfully located, 15 minutes from Ashland and 20 minutes from Jacksonville. The owner is friendly and hospitable. I would recommend this vacation rental highly!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I live in Medford and rented this beautiful home to host my fathers surprise birthday party. The ample parking around the house and down by the barn was great. We hired caterers who were able to prepare and cook for 100 people in the kitchen and extended laundry room counter space. The owners (who joined us for the party) were very accommodating and friendly. They let us use the house days in advance to prepare for the party and clean up throughout the weekend, with not extra charge. The house is away from town which allowed us to listen to music loud and late and even sing some karaoke. We set up tables and chairs on the lawn and even had space for a dance floor. The kids loved the hammocks (as did the adults) and play structure in the front yard. They also enjoyed the barn down the hill, the Foosball table was a hit. The owners are very flexible and easy to work with which we so appreciated. After the party, we noticed that one of the floor rugs had gotten really dirty from all the foot traffic. The owners were very understanding and didn't charge us for any "extra" cleaning. We will definitely keep this house in mind if and when we throw another big party or family reunion. The views, yard space and peaceful atmosphere are priceless. This place was the best I've stayed in in several years. good fresh country side living was a much needed change for city fellow like me and my family. We injoyed it immensely in early June and will stay again another time of year too.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We stayed for only a couple of days of our week reservation, after my son woke up with a tick on his genitals in the master suite. Spiders throughout the house. The owner knew of the poor condition, yet did nothing. A formal complaint was made with VRBO, they are powerless. Beware of false testaments on this place. It needed a make over for sure and the owner did not respond to numerous attempts to contact. They are not part-time residents, his girlfriend lives there and works in Ashland. It seems several prior negative testaments have been deleted, perhaps this one will be too. Check out reputable owners, not this one!.Owner response: These guests stayed here in 2011 a month after we purchased the property. It had been vacant for over a year and the trees and brush were right up to the house. Since that time we have spent over $50,000 in renovations and have cleared acres of brush and trees away from the house. All of our 2012 guests have been very pleased with the accommodations. New dishwasher, hardwood floors, laundry room, decks, etc.

We spent Easter weekend with our Children and grandchildren in this lovely home. We awoke to 5 deer in the yard which was a real treat. The whole family loved the gounds, the children, the play structures and game room and the adults, the view both day and night and the hot tub. The house was comfortable for adults as well as very child friendly. plenty of space for our 200 egg Easter egg hunt and Easter dinner for 11 adults and 7 children. Even the locals who joined us thought the place was perfect. The owners were very accomidating and even gave us 'almost" foolproof directions. We cant wait to come back again!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Wanted to thank you again for letting us enjoy your wonderful property! Super comfy pillow top beds, the deer in the early morning and evening, the peaceful surrounding views, privacy and trails were the perfect getaway from the city. You turned us on to some fabulous restaurants and thank you Lucia for your assistance in getting us great last minute seats to 2 wonderful theatre performances. The barn with game room and hot tub are an added bonus. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return with my adult children and grandchild as there is something for everyone and so many things to do near by.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

About the owner: Rocky was a property investor/developer in the SF Bay Area for 35 years but is now semi retired and divides his time between Oregon and his parents family ranch 4 miles East of Fort Bragg, CA (by Mendocino). He is a graduate of the California Maritime Academy and has a business degree from San Francisco State University. Lucia has her B.A. in Archeology/Architecture from UC Santa Barbara and worked for 20 years as a travel agent. Currently she works at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Box Office in Ashland and also spends time at her family home in Mendocino (VRBO.com #244901). Both from the north coast of California, they came to the Rogue Valley for the lovely climate, four mild seasons, great theater, fine restaurants and to escape the coastal summer fog!
Why the Owner Chose Medford:
Although the property is very rural and secluded it is easily accesible from Interstate 5... only five minutes & 4 miles (2 right hand turns and two left hand turns). It is 20 minutes from Medford International Airport (MFR). You can be in Ashland in 12 minutes, Medford in 10 and Jacksonville in 14....and yet feel like you are on your on private estate in the country. We bought it for exactly ALL these reasons, and are glad we did.

Crystal Heights is unique in that it is a elegant home in the middle of farmland and ranches. It is surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and pastureland with cow, goats and even a llama (Snowflake) lives next door. There are hammocks galore, plenty of adirondack chairs scattered about so you can sit and relax, enjoying the views of the surrounding mountains and the sounds of the countryside.
