This is a very clean, well maintained and fully furnished ocean front home with a completely outfitted kitchen. The house is fully appointed. It is an excellent value and has everything you'll need for a restful stress-free vacation at the beach. As you can see from the photos, we strive to make this a comfortable and tastefully 'beachy' home. Among the features of this property are TimeWarner cable tv, wireless internet, central air, ceiling fans in every room, and custom hand-painted tropical murals on all 4 bedroom walls. It's NOT cheap thin or boxy furniture, nor is it uncomfortably modern; we want you to relax and be comfortable!
There are 2 ocean-front master bedrooms with queen beds and 2 bedrooms street side (partial Sound view) with doubles and singles. There are 2 full baths and a wonderful outdoor enclosed shower with dressing area.
Brand new 2013 upgrades include all new carpeting, new living room sofa, new stove and refrigerator, new kitchen sink & faucet, new TV's and many smaller changes as well. We are constantly upgrading!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, to wake up taking only a few steps to enjoy the sand between our toes. Quite time was great, close enough to small town dining and boutiques for shopping. Open kitchen is a great thing, never felt like we were doing kitchen chores! Owner contact has been easy and great, even called the morning we were leaving to wish us safe travels!! Was everything we hoped! Could very easily bring the family next time ~ that is if we want to share the beach with them!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay and I look forward to welcoming you back soon.

I spent my 47th birthday at this lovely place, listening to the waves roll in and out as I slept, watching the dolphins swim the horizon each morning and evening. In the late fall the sun crosses over the beach, rising to the left and setting to the right of the house, so all day you're bathed with natural light and solar warmth. The house was quiet, peaceful, and the beach relatively deserted. It was a good place to escape the noise of my life and work on my book. Most afternoons I sat on the deck for hours, staring out at the water, clearing my head and heart. There are great restaurants and excellent supermarkets nearby. The owner has been lovely to me, very responsive and generous with information and recommendations that made my stay stress free. I've traveled solo every birthday for the past nine years. I haven't ever returned to the same place twice. I've been to many caribbean islands, houses by lakes, etc., and so far, none of them have afforded me the peace and relaxation I found here. I'm sure Emerald Isle is hopping and quite lovely in the summer, but for me, this place will become a regular winter retreat. There's just something "right" about it.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family stayed here in 2011 and we couldn't wait to come back in 2012. The owners had made a number of improvements and the property does not disappoint. I admit that I'm not always easy to please; I'm fussy about cleaning and appearance. Both times I was very satisfied with everything at this house. The owners are gracious people and easy to work with. The handyman who works for them was prompt, charming and very helpful. They tell me that they are planning several upgrades and I will be eager to see what's in store; we just booked again for 2013. The best features include the view, location, comfortable house and the outside shower is fantastic!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house has wide straight-on ocean views and a deck walkway makes it easy to go down to the beach and back. If you're on the beach and forgot or need something, it is easy. House was clean and well kept. Everything we needed was there. Whole family (old & young) enjoyed the house and our entire stay. E.I. is a great vacation destination and I would go back to this place. The beach was not at all crowded and we were there in prime summer. Lots to do and we saw dolphins. Back in 2013!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed in late Aug 2012, love the area, Emerald Isle is awesome, beach is great and the area is quiet, yet a 5 - 10 minute drive to stores and restaurants. The house was great, 4 comfortable bedrooms , Great VIEWS!! There was no one renting the other side of house, so it was amazing privacy right on the beach.. And it rained one day, but we made due by hanging out under the house and stayed dry..while enjoying the breeze, Price is very reasonable!!Did you find this review helpful? We arrived the week of 8-18-12 and were lucky enough to be met by the owners. Very pleased at how well kept the house was. Everything was clean and we even had a new dishwasher! The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, flatware, appliances, etc. The outdoor enclosed hot/cold shower was the highlight for most in our party as we didn't have to track sand through the house. Great location on the beach and only steps from the ocean. The kids loved the deck and walkway to the beach. Hopefully if schedules allow, we will be back next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Stayed at Beach House July, 2011. The photos and listing are accurate. It's a fine house and a terrific value for the price. It is not a big oceanfront mansion, so don't look at several others at twice the price and think this will be the same. It may not be as big but it's the same beach, sky and breeze as the $10,000 a week places! My children loved the beach and we walked down a block to where there are lifeguards. That was nice to have. There are great seafood places in town. Don't miss the NC Aquarium a few miles away, Fort Macon, the Emerald Isle fishing pier and of course the t-shirt shops. If work allows I'll be there for the same week in 2012.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I enjoyed my stay at this rental in Aug., 2011 very much. It has a great view, nice deck, comfortable furniture and everything we needed to kick back and relax for a week. We did see dolphins 100' from shore. It was really nice to walk right off the deck onto the beach to play and collect shells. My children loved it, as did the whole family. As the Governator might say: "We'll be back!"Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: Concerned, professional and responsive property owner PLUS a knowledgable local caretaker who will meet you at the property at arrival for a walk-thru to make sure everything is perfect. He is then available to you during your stay for any assistance and advice.
Why the Owner Chose Emerald Isle:
We considered a beach house in several coastal communities in different states before falling in love with Emerald Isle on our first visit in 2001. We immediately knew that the small town feel, lack of high-rise condos, vacation amenities, local friendliness and gorgeous uncrowded beach made this the place we wanted to visit again and again. We still enjoy it and you will too!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of our favorite activities is simply to eat most meals on the deck and watch the ocean, the dolphins, people enjoying the beach, and the sunrises and sunsets. There have been a number of weddings on the beach right in front of this house.
