We enjoyed an extended stay on this property. The owners were very helpful and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. The home is in a quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed many walks to White Lake and Lake Michigan. Although there were just two of us most of the time the home is designed to accommodate at least 8 comfortably and the grandchildren loved to visit us there. All appliances were in good working order. Amenities such as washer, dryer, garage, 1/12 baths were appreciated. The cities of Montague and Whitehall are just a short drive away and have quaint shops along with many antique dealers. If you are looking for an affordable, comfortable place to stay and still have access to the beach, check it out. You'll be glad you did!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+.

If you are currently shopping around and mulling over all the vacation rentals along Lake Michigan just stop already! This home away from home is what you are looking for. As a native to the White Lake area I have seen many a house along the beach and, while nice, they are not worth their price tags for renting. This house, on the other hand, is worth every penny! It is literally a 5 minute leisurely stroll on a quiet road to the Montague Pier where you can swim, play volleyball, work on your tan, or watch the sunset. Old Channel Inn (bar and restaurant) is right down the beach for a perfect ending to the day. If you're up for it, head down for a midnight dip under the stars. If you're lucky enough, you'll catch a thunderstorm rolling in off of the lake. All of this in walking distance. As for the house itself it is very clean with a nice and open floor plan. Sleeps 6 comfortably and includes all of the cookware and appliances you will need to host family and friends. The owners are also gracious enough to provide beach towels which take up lots of space when you're packing. My family and I rented last summer for one week bu have decided to rent for two weeks this year and, as much as I would like to keep this place a secret, I also think that the owners deserve to fill up all of their available dates as they are very deserving. Enjoy your stay!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My family and I stayed at the cottage last summer and have plans to stay again this summer. The cottage itself is charming and very accomodating. We enjoyed the beach and the bike trails everyday. My husband and son-in-law had fun at the golf course. We toured the lighthouse and bought a wine cabinet at an estate sale! The grandkids loved playing in the backyard while we barbecued and watching movies on our down time. Our last night we went down to the beach and we were treated to a beautiful sunset. It was a perfect ending to a perfect vacation. I have already recommended the cottage to a friend of mine and her family.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.
