Kick back on the deck of this mountain cabin and sip your morning coffee while taking in the majestic views of Slate Mountain and the Camp Nelson Meadow. Or, plan your rock climbing trek or fishing expedition up the Tule River while sitting at the dining table. Curl up with a novel in front of a fire as snow falls around this peaceful cabin before you head out for a cross-country ski or sledding outing with the kids.
Put the kids in the bedroom across the living room while you sleep soundly in the master bedroom. Enjoy the view of the Big Dipper and other constellations free of big city smog and light pollution from the master bedroom and deck.
Your kids will love the five-minute walk to the Camp Nelson general store for an ice cream, or the whole family can travel a half mile to the Pierpoint General Store and Restaurant for a juicy Pierpoint hamburger.
This perfectly located cabin is ideal for a romantic getaway, wedding accommodations for the Camp Nelson Lodge, a family getaway, or merely a foray into the High Sierras to see the giant redwoods in the national forest.

Why the Owner Chose Camp Nelson
My dad had always dreamed of having a place in the mountains to fish and be amongst the trees. He wanted something to pass on to his family and he loves that we are able to share it with others. He can't spend the time there he would like so he relishes in the great feedback from people that appreciate our property.
The Unique Benefits of this Mountain Cabin
Cell Phones do not work in the mountains and we do not have internet service. This is truly a time away from all the hectic electronics of today's world. I can relax and not feel tied to work.

We had a great time! Mom has never stayed in a cabin before and brought everything, even chairs for the deck. She was pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the cabin was, it has everything. We found everything so clean and homey. We loved it and we will be back. We met Joe and thought he was a terrific guy. We enjoyed our cozy fires and the view is spectacular. We even saw some deer in the front yard.

This was our first time in the cabin as well as Camp Nelson. We brought our two little girls 4 and 10. We found the cabin to be so cozy, clean and comfortable with everything we needed! The McFadden's are very generous to share this wonderful retreat. We have rented many cabins over the years and this one was the best! with all the little extra comforts and knickknacks. Our girls really enjoyed the toys, books and clawfoot tub. My husband loved the wood burning stove. I loved the peace and quiet. We went to Balch Park one day, Porterville and Visalia on another day. The general store and the creek are all so cute. We also BBQ'd severla times. Enjoyed Stagg Tree area and Ponderosa. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I had been to Camp Nelson many years ago, before we were married and this trip brought our two sons, 5 and 2 1/2. Everyone loved it - the quiet and tranquility, the beautifulview - snow still clinging to the mountains across the way in June! and the extremely well kept , immaculate cabin. The kids loved the trip. THank you so much for providing such a lovely retreat.
