2 Separate Waterfront Living Quarters: Sunsets & Hiking Trail
- Minimum stay:N/A

- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
This historic 1930's house is located next to the King County Boaters Park with direct trails to the park, a great opportunity to invite your boater friends for an afternoon of hiking, biking and cocktails on the large deck overlooking the view.
There are two separate living quarters which allows two families to have private accommodations and still enjoy a large area to gather for fun and entertaining.
The master bedroom is the very private upper floor. It has a KING size TEMPERPEDIC bed and a SINGLE TWIN. The extra large master bath has a jacuzzi tub, glass shower and twin sinks. The large area offers a great private retreat from guests.
The main floor has a guest bedroom with QUEEN bed and an extra large shower, great for older guests.
The den has a FUTON for extra guests or doubles as couch for watching TV. The foyer bathroom offers a private bathroom for those extra den guests.
The basement accommodations has a QUEEN bed in a separate room and the living room and kitchen give a separate space for early morning coffee and a get-a-way for quieter times from family and friends.
The laundry room has washer and dryer and exercise equipment to keep in shape after lazy days on the deck with martinis.
There is a row boat with 4 life vests for the fisher fans or young explorers. The kayak does take a more experienced person. Swimming is a favorite pastime of the locals at the docks and the water tends to be warmer than most of the Puget Sound because it is in protected waters. The outer waters of the Sound tend to be icy cold.
If hiking is your pastime, the area across the street has the best hiking trails on Vashon. It is a great forest to explore.
Come and enjoy our 3 and 1/2 acres with 500 feet of waterfront and next to the best hiking trails and boating on Vashon. Located next to the Dockton State Boaters Park means you or friends can bring your boat. Plus we also have our own mooring in front of our house.
It will all put a grin on your chin and fill your mind with great memories!

I went to Vashon Island to attend a wedding. My daughter and grandchild stayed with me at this property. We had a wonderful time. The view is gorgeous. The owner was very accomdating and told us so much information about Vashon and gave us insights on what to see. It was like a home away from home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: I have lived on Vashon for 41 years, divorced after 13 years of marriage, I stayed on Vashon and raised my two boys on the property. I had a dream to convert the property to a hostel and in 1982 started with the International Hostel Association and converted to a world famous American Youth Hostel. I have operated it for 30 years and added the Lavender Duck Inn in 1997 and then the Marine View Estate in 2004. I have worked for United Air Lines as a flight attendant for 45 years while raising my family and doing my lodging business. I wish I could retire now that I am 68 years old, but times are tough and the market down so you will still find me meeting and greeting on Vashon or the friendly skies for some years to come. I have flown all over the world with my airline job and find no place as endearing and friendly as Vashon except maybe New Zealand. Come join us for a great stay, one that will implant meaningful memories and leave you longing to return.
Why the Owner Chose Vashon Island:
TAKE A FERRY TO THE COUNTRY
15 minutes from Seattle by ferry and you are in the heart of Puget Sound. I first read about Vashon Island in high school in a book called 'Onions in the Stew' by Betty McDonald. I knew I would someday visit this memorable place but never dreamed it would become my home for 41 years.
My Marine View Estate is guiet, semi private, and fun. we do have a caretaker cottage on the property occupied by Dorothy that is available for questions about the property or area. I have lived on Vashon for 41 years and traveled extensively with my job. I can say first hand that there is no place on planet earth like Vashon. It is the paradise of the Pacific Northwest. We may not have record sunshine or palm trees, but we have community and safey. We are conventently located to everything going on in the area of Seattle, Tacoma or the Olympic Peninsula. We are a picturesque ferry boat ride away from all the events. The ferries run regularly and stop between 2am and 5am. Which means there is always a way home from the Mariners games or dinner and a movie.
Vashon does have a unique theater with current movies, great shopping, two large grocery stores and most everything offered off island. Come join us and see for yourself this special place called Vashon Island.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
As you now know I have lived on Vashon for 40 years and much of my time was spent inland property. I purchased the waterfront in 2004 so my mother could enjoy the water view. She passed in 2008 and the house was just too large for me. I love the setting and the changing scenery on the water since my property sets next to the King County Park and boats come and go changing the view weekly. I decided to share the view with others as a way for me to stay on the property. There is no place like Vashon and the water setting makes it especially enjoyable for me.
