My family of 4 adults and 2 small children enjoyed our recent vacation at this beautiful waterfront home. The photos are very accurate on the web site, no surprises when we arrrived. The home is clean and very well equipped with everything you would need, especially the kitchen area. You can't get any closer to the lake and the views are spectacular. The deck is very spacious with a large gas grille, many chairs and a dining table. The lake is very clear and has a sandy bottom with easy entry for small children or the elderly. We loved having a fire each night in the fire pit outdoors. We were concerned about only having one large trash barrel for an entire week, but the Property Manager (next door) came and took away the trash for us after a few days, so it was not a problem. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place on Highland Lake.

This house was the perfect vacation spot. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. It was very neat & clean with everything amenity you would ever need. It had a perfect spot on the lake with great views and close proximity to the water. It has a great waterfront with a sandy beach for young kids. The lake is quiet and serene. I can not say enough nice things about this house. I highly recommend it.

A Beautiful Place to Vacation...
A Beautiful Place to Vacation...
We vacation in Maine often and this is, by far, our favorite place to stay. The views simply can't be beat! The home offers an amazing panorama of Highland Lake and the large windows in the main living space really take advantage of this. The living room opens to a VERY large deck which offers a fantastic outdoor living area. The home is very well kept, clean and nicely appointed. The proximity to North Conway (about 40 minutes) makes for a nice day trip on a rainy day, or just a change of scenery. There is golf and tennis close by, and of course, lots to do on the lake! We hope to continue vacationing at this property for years to come!

Wonderful Getaway, beautifully appointed home on the lake
Wonderful Getaway, beautifully appointed home on the lake
I've had the opportunity to stay at this home 2x (in 2009 and 2011). Both stays provided wonderful memories, and I hope to go back again. The house itself is very clean, has everything you need and feels . . . quaint and welcoming. It was much nicer than I was expecting for a home RIGHT ON A LAKE. It had all the amenities from home, even a dishwasher, satellite TV, washer and dryer, etc. The best part: THE VIEW. It can't be explained, it has to be experienced. You are RIGHT on the lake. There are mountains in the background, and beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The lake is perfectly still in the morning, and one of my favorite memories was having a cup of coffee on the deck before the rest of the family woke up. The house is on a nice wooded lot, has a canoe, etc. Neighbors are far enough away that you can't hear them. It's a nice, secluded area. Would have loved it it had a giant flat-screen TV, but to be honest, I was up there to relax and get away, and it was nice to do fun things with the family other than watch TV. My 3G service worked well, so was able to use my iPad, even though there was no high-speed internet. I like this part of Maine a lot. We are a family of 4 that lives in New Jersey, and the trip itself was actually half the fun. It's a beautiful ride, especially in the Fall when we took our trips. When you arrive at the home, you feel like you've really gotten away; it's hard to describe, but you feel like you're far enough that work and stress can't follow you. The owners are a pleasure to work with, and the price is definitely right considering the experience. Looking forward to next time!

About the owner: For over three generations our family has been coming to Bridgton, ME, traveling from Boston, New York City and Florida to vacation with one another. Our family has grown up on this lake swimming, boating, water-skiing and tubing.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Our home is the perfect place to bring family and friends together for some summer fun and much needed R&R. The front porch just off the living room is the central gathering point of the house, which starts with coffee in the morning as the sun rises and the warmth of the day builds. At any point during the day you have your choice of shade or the direct rays of the sun on the porch. The direct access and shallow sandy beach allow you to comfortably wade in the water or take the plunge into the clean lake water. As the sun sets and the lake stills, it's happy hour on the porch with a glass of wine and great conversation. The smell of the grill fills the air and the only sounds are the loons on the lake, the crickets and laughter. It's our escape from city life, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
