My husband, teenage son and I stayed here for a week in March, a week where we lucked out both in finding a great place to stay and on the weather. As others have said, the pictures here do not so this place justice. It's clearly well made, and the owners have not scrimped on anything. From quality pots and pans to excellent mattresses (we renters to not take these things for granted!), the cottage was perfect. In addition to the beautiful exterior of the cottage, which looked like something from the French countryside on the outside and was sturdy and modern on the inside, the owner clearly had a great eye for decorating. We had a great time skiing, including cross country skiing on the trails situated just a mile or so up the road from the cottage. We had a couple of good meals out and we got all the supplies we needed at the nearby market in town. The owner was attentive, accommodating and accessible throughout our stay. The one thing I'll mention is that the property is located on a hill. We would have done well to remember that Vermont gets lots of snow and that Prius's don't have good traction. Snow tires would have been a good idea--either that or an SUV. Nonetheless, it all worked out in the end. Highly recommended!

The cottage provided easy access to Jay Peak's indoor water park, spring skiing, and the stick and puck session at the hockey rink, but without the cramped and noisy hotel room experience. The bathrooms and kitchens seemed brand new and were very nice. The mountain views from the cottage were awesome and the nearby walks were very enjoyable. The only minor issue was the lack of a washer and dryer, so just be sure to bring enough clothes for the whole stay. Overall, highly recommended!

This cottage is a gem! We had a wonderful weekend of skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and of course the waterpark at nearby Jay Peak. You can literally XC ski out the back door into the woods and onto a set of amazing, well-cared-for trails of Hazen's Notch ski center. We had great snow conditions (even in late March)! Les was incredibly accommodating to our needs, and we couldn't have asked for a better host. They are located right next door, so anything you need, they are available. The cottage itself is LOVELY! Wonderful stone floor (bring your slippers!), a big fireplace, big table to sit and eat and drink around, and very comfortable temperpedic beds upstairs and down. We're looking forward to coming out in the summer time to enjoy hiking and mountain biking during the day, and playing in the pool in the evenings. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend vacation spot. Thanks for sharing your space with us!

Myself and a few friends wanted a weekend getaway where we could sit by the fire, talk, take walks, and do a little shopping. This place was perfect. It's quiet, incredibly quaint, and fits the quintessential idea of Vermont. Dine by candle light, while fluffy white flakes fall beside the mountainous backdrop. Cuddle up on the couch and chat against the crackle of the fire. Just what we all needed.

My wife, 2 teenage daughters and I loved this place (the girls sharing a large bed). Les could hardly have been more hospitable, right down to the pre-made fire in the gorgeous fireplace. Although the cottage is a renovated property, it appears virtually brand new inside. We were skiing at Jay Peak (a convenient distance away) and were especially glad to be able to cook in the beautiful kitchen to save a little money. We also loved the radiant floors in the baths and the gorgeous view of the mountain out the back. A couple of tips the winter: (1) while the cottage is close to town, I would advise 4 wheel drive if significant snow is in the forecast -- our Ford Focus was fine for the several inches we received, and (2) bring slippers (so you don't track up the lovely floors). Music is limited to the satellite TV music stations, so you might wish to consider bringing compact speakers for your music player. There is both a world class pizza parlor and a full-service grocery with quite decent prices in Montgomery Center.

My wife, my brother and his wife had an enjoyable stay. The description of the property is accurate. The cabin is well appointed and maintained. We would certainly consider staying there again.

The photos do not do this beautiful, tranquil cottage justice. Leslie and Laurie made us feel welcome and relaxed from the outset of booking our vacation. Selfishly we hope no one finds out about this vacation spot as we expect it never to be available again once the word is out. Thank you Leslie and Laurie. We look forward to visiting again this summer.

What a lovely place! The pictures hardly do it justice. It is beautiful and comfortable, out of the way, yet not too far from the conveniences of town (walk or drive). We enjoyed the croaking of frogs, the pretty grounds, and a dip in the pool on hot afternoons. The owner was friendly and helpful, even lending us his binoculars for bird watching. My one complaint is there isn't a proper oven.

One of the nicest accomodations we are associated with. We travel weekly for our work, and this home is one of the nicest we have stayed at in Vermont. The caretakers are enjoyable, hospitable and kind. Inside is charming and very clean! We have stayed here three times at different seasons and all have there highlights. A must if you are into winter sports.
