Views! Views! and more Views!
If you want to feel like you are in a treehouse looking out toward Elliot Bay and the Olympic Mountains, this is definitely the place for you. This charming apartment with 900 sq.ft.of living space has breath-taking views of Puget Sound and a spacious deck that will make you feel like you are floating above the earth. The home is located on the upper floor of a distinctive 1908 Queen Anne home, with a lovely staircase leading up to your hideaway.

Location! Location! Location!
Queen Anne is one of Seattle's oldest and most popular neighborhoods. You'll be located on the southwest corner of Queen Anne Hill, with all of the city's happenings just beyond your front door. If you love to walk, there are tons of 'greenbelts' with stairways and walkways to explore the charming and diverse neighborhoods of Queen Anne. Within 5 blocks of the house in all directions you'll find Kerry Park, Kinear Park, Parson's Gardens, the Muse coffee shop, Ice Box Deli/Grocery and stunning views to the south and west. 7 blocks gets you to the famous and delicious McCrina Bakery, worth every step, and friendly Ken's Market! 10 blocks gets you to Upper QA and the 'Avenue', home to many bars, restaurants, gourmet groceries, boutiques and more. If walking is not your thing, no worries, the bus stop is across the street from the house. You're within minutes of the Seatte Center & Space Needle, the Gates Foundation, Lake Union, Pikes Market, Downtown shopping and world class restaurants, the waterfront & ferries, the Sports Stadiums & Pioneer Square.

The Space!
As you enter this light filled space and step into the inviting living room, you will first be wowed by the views. Then you might notice the comfy red sofa, the conversational side chairs, the table for four by the westernly view window, the 40' flat screen TV with a DVR, BluRay DVD player and a docking station/speaker system for your iPad, iPhone or iPod. Or you might just step from the living room right out onto the deck to breathe in the salty air and watch the ferries and sailboats or gaze at the sunset over the Olympic Mountains.

Or if you're tired from your travels, you may want to go into the large bedroom to put your things away in the huge walk-in closet and then rest on the new queen Beautyrest, pillowtop bed.
When you get up, wander down the hall to the well-stocked kitchen. There you'll find all new glass and dinnerware, pots and pans, spices, oils, coffee beans, everything you need to cook a feast from the fresh items you'll buy at Pike Place Market.
Off the hall is quaint den with a new Euro Lounger (that folds down to accommodate addtional guests in your party) and a desk where you can house your laptop and tend to all your wi-fi needs.

All the furniture and fixtures in this charming space were brand new in 2012, the walls were freshly painted and the coffee is always freshly ground. The owner is welcoming and only steps away to answer your questions and insure your stay is special.

So please come and enjoy the best views and location around!
Thank You!

We rented the flat for my parents and they had a great time. They said they were enjoying their time so much they didn't want to leave. The location is fantastic, the space very nice and accommodating, and securing it/working with the owner was easy. Also, my mom said the bedroom had a huge walk in closet which could have fit a pack-n-play crib if you have a baby. We hope to stay ourselves sometime soon!

My husband and I stayed at this property with our 14 year old daughter over Easter weekend. We had clear sunny days so got to fully enjoy the breathtaking view from the comfortably furnished deck. We also enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable living/dining room which has big windows looking out on the same view. The owner had the property very clean and well supplied when we arrived. We spoke with her briefly and she provided many helpful suggestions. She was also easy to work with in making the reservation and payments in advance of our visit. The fresh cut flowers and chocolate she placed in the property, and opening windows for fresh air were nice touches. The kitchen was easy to cook in, with high quality grocery stores easily accessible. Our daughter appreciated having her own bedroom, and wireless internet access. We rented a car and had no problem finding convenient on-street parking. We made the very up-hill/upstairs walk to the top of Queen Anne several times to have dinner, ice cream and gourmet doughnuts. We also walked to the nearby park that provides great views of downtown Seattle. The property was a convenient home base from which to explore near (Experience Music Project, Chihuly Glass Museum, Pike's Place, Ballard and Fremont neighborhoods) and far (Mount Rainier). This property is a real treat, and we appreciate the owner's willingness to share it with others via VRBO.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thanks Susan! I should have you write my description of the location and close amenities to the flat. I couldn't have explained it better. It was nice to meet you all. I'm so happy you had the great weather for your first Seattle visit and that your stay in the flat. Hopefully you will visit Seattle again some day. Take care. Linda

Great view is right. Facilities are older but clean and worked fine for us. Internet access was a little spotty. It was up and down a few times per day.

First off, whatever Linda tells you, 'you can take it to the bank'. For our future visits we have no reason to look for other places to stay. The furnishings are great, we have ordered a blanket like the one on the red (comfy) couch, we are looking for a floor lamp like the one in the den & looking into also having a hot and cold bottled water dispenser like the one in the kitchen. If you are a coffee lover you will appreciate not having to use tap water. The well-stocked kitchen made it possible to prepare a complete Thanksgiving dinner for four. If you are 65+ you can go to the ORCA website and for $3 and a copy of DL you can have a permanent card to travel for 75 cents on buses and the lightrail including automatic transfers. If you start wondering about all the vessels traveling through Elliott Bay then I recommend you google seattle marine traffic. We loved the deck and the picture windows especially since we spent a lot of time in the apartment baby sitting with our new grandson. We had the experience of looking down on the motor yacht "LUNA" which is the largest motor yacht in the world. If you are wondering, you can charter it for $2,000,000/week which includes a crew of 75. I think Linda's apartment is a much better deal.

I loved hearing about how Jim kept track of all the boat traffic coming in and out of Ellliot Bay. I hope to see you out here in the future. Take care. Linda

I can't say enough about my experience in Seattle. Linda went way beyond to try to make my stay feel like home from fresh flowers to coffee and milk in the frig. I really appreciated her input on places to go and things to do and see. She was always available if needed and even checked on me when I wasn't home one night. I had taken an unexpected trip to Victoria BC and ended up spending the night. She was worried when she didn't hear me moving around. Nice to know there was someone who was concerned enough to check on me. I was traveling alone. I would definitely rent this property again. It was convenient to everything. What a great trip. Even had a great time with rainy, drizzly weather. The pictures are totally accurate in how the apartment looks. What a spectacular view - even through the clouds. Thanks for everything Linda. It was great meeting you.

After spending many seriously hot, dry summers in the south, we were so excited to finally plan our vacation to Seattle. Since we love to live like the locals do, VRBO is always the first place we go to plan where we will stay. As usual, this rental was exactly as it was listed and more. The Queen Anne location was really great for us. We were able to use it as our base to explore, explore, explore. The home was very clean and comfortable with very easy access to the waterfront, parks and restaurants - but the view was the thing we loved the most. Staring the day on the deck with coffee and ending with wine for the sunset was so relaxing. We meet many locals along the way and we found them to be so very friendly. Linda, the homeowner, was very kind and helpful to give us advice on all the many questions we had. We will be planning another trip to Seattle in the future and will check to see if her rental is available. Thank you Linda - look forward to coming back to this wonderful city.

The terrace was the highlight of this unit. We began our morning and ended our day looking at the view. The sunset was beautiful. We were able to walk to some of the downtown attractions. The unit had everything it promised and the owner was very helpful when needed. We wouldn't hesitate to rent again. My husband and I recently stayed for a week in your lovely apt. You are a wonderful host and it was such a pleasure meeting you (a fellow Georgian). The wine, fresh flowers, chocolate, and coffee you left - and the fully stocked kitchen far exceeded a hotel room! The apt. is exactly like the photos and descriptions on the website except it is really hard to capture the charm of the neighborhood and the fantastic views from the porch and living room. We recently rented an apt. in Florence, Italy with views of the city and the Duomo - now we are spoiled and will not want to stay in a hotel again! It was also very convenient to be able to have free street parking for our rental car and a bus stop so we did not have to park downtown. We loved taking walks in the neighborhood - discovering the many stairways, beautiful flowers, and quaint shops and restaurants nearby. It was such a pleasure coming "home" to your apt. after a long day of sightseeing. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us...we hope to return someday.

It was great to meet you both and to hear about your many adventures while visiting the Northwest. I hope you will return in the future! Best, Linda.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 1988

About the owner: I grew up in the Southeast and migrated west after college. When I landed here in Seattle in 1980, it felt like home. I love the mountains and the water and the Northwest has it all.

Why the Owner Chose Queen Anne:
Upon arriving in Seattle I rented the upstairs of this charming home for 7 years. In 1988 I bought the house from my Landlord and continued to live upstairs until my daughter was 2 when we moved downstairs. I then rented the upstairs space to long-term renters until this summer. I know how special the views and location are and felt I wanted to share it with visitors to Seattle. I have stayed in VRBO rentals in many places in the world during my travels and felt like this apartment is such a find in Seattle, that it would be a special place for visitors to experience this great city. I love Queen Anne and have never thought of living anywhere else in the City.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Besides the clear water and sunshine mountain views you get from this apartment, it is really exciting when the weather turns a bit stormy and you have a front row seat to watch the storm roll in from the south across the Sound.
