Wake up on the porch with a cup of coffee and the morning calls of song birds and water birds and fish flopping in the water. Bid the day adeiu with wonderful sunsets but don't go to bed until you searched for a couple of shooting stars!
The kitchen is stocked with spices and essential utensils. The appliances are new. The living , dining and kitchen are open. The floors are tongue and groove hardwood featuring a few of our favorite oriental rugs.The bedrooms are split: One queen bedroom /bath suite is on the south end of the house, and two more bedrooms( one queen and two twins)- and bath are located beyond the screened porch on the north end. An additional restroom is off the kitchen. The arrangment is particularly accomodating for two couples or parents with older children.
Fresh citrus is available on the property.

My wife and I really enjoyed the house,nature and as always the laid back Homosassa experience. The 2 acres was perfect for our dog who loved his vacation as well. The house is upscale and very well equipped with great sound system and a nice high def TV. We really hated to leave.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Despite scheduling issues on our part, the place and the owners went beyond our expectaions, way beyond. The split accommadations is perfect for families with teens or multiple couples. The serenity we experienced in the "upscale" rental surrounded by "old" Florida charm and trees was priceless. The open floorplan and wonderful kitchen is the perfect gathering place for a fine fishfry and football watching party with your group. The dock and access to open water were just one of the many extras you get with this property. Did I mention the shower"s", that will wash away anyones tight muscles from reeling in too many fish. The seclusion of Florida brush and trees made this a vacation for our pups as well. They played and relaxed as much as we did. Suffice it to say this was one of our best vacations in Homosassa in over ten years of vacation rentals, Thank you so much for sharing your home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We second the rave reviews of previous visitors. We felt very fortunate to have "found" Rivermance for a two week stay in February and intend to return next winter. It is a marvelous area to explore with many state parks and wildlife refuges; perfect for a couple of recreational birders. Stone crabs from Shelley's and etouffee, gumbo and zydeco at Neon Leons are just a few of the local treats we experienced. What a treat! The home is beautiful. The grounds are well kept. Our hostess and the Captain have out done themselves. They have a wicked sense of humor. Everything detail was well thought out. The nature coast has alot of offer. I hope to return for another visit.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

We had a fantastic time during our recent stay at the Rivermance. From the time we drove down the long driveway through the forest, we new we were in for a quiet treat. The house is completely up to date with modern appliances and all the amenities one would need for an enjoyable stay. It was very clean and well maintained. The open layout gives it a spacious feeling and the outside deck extends the living space for all around comfort, both inside and out. The owners went above and beyond our expectations to make sure we had a pleasant stay. We found the surrounding community of Homosassa very friendly and pleasant as well. This is a place we would highly recommend to anyone wishing to kick back and enjoy nature. We will definitely include this place in our plans for future vacations.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We live in Tampa Florida, about 60 miles south of Old Homosassa. We have 2 grown sons who are 6th generation Floridians! We have recently retired from a manufacturing career. Rivermance (our second home's name) is not a typical rental house, but a retreat for us and for our sons and their wives. We are hoping to introduce it to guests who will want to return every year! Please call us or email us with any questions. We are pretty knowledgable about Homosassa and cental Florida.

Proximity to urban Tampa made it very convenient. Old Homosassa is very close....but a world away!
