Our luxurious and beautiful Tahoe Donner mountain home is fully furnished and decorated with a mountain motif. The house has four spacious bedrooms, (two master suites and three King beds!) and three and a half baths; it comfortably sleeps up to 14 people and works beautifully with two or three families.
Our 2,800 square foot, non-smoking home features a majestic Great Room upstairs with a beautiful stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, leather sofas, and hardwood floors. The fully-equipped kitchen has granite countertops, bar seating, stainless steel appliances, and a large mahogany dining table that is expandable. The Great Room leads out to a sunny full-length deck facing virgin forest greenbelt and a picturesque mountain creek.
The upstairs master suite with a new luxurious King bed has a private marble bathroom with an oversized jetted tub, separate marble shower, and double vanities. The downstairs master bedroom features a comfy King-size bed, a marble tiled private bathroom with double vanities, and a private door out to the lower deck with the hot tub. The third bedroom is a lovely private room, also appointed with a cozy and comfortable King bed and has the third full bathroom next door. The fourth bedroom is a spacious and charming bunkroom with double bunkbeds on the bottom and twins on the top. All of our beds are new and incredibly comfortable - we have even provided optional bedboards for those who like to regulate the firmness of their sleeping accomodations!
We have plenty of overflow capacity for your additional weekend guests! There are two queen fold out futons and a queen Aerobed that can be used in the downstairs family room. Additionally, there is plenty of storage space with spacious closets and dressers if you come for a week. The full scale laundry room is located downstairs as well.
You not only can enjoy the forest scenery, but can cuddle up to either of the two river rock fireplaces. The Great Room has a state of the art entertainment center, and the downstairs Family Room is a roomy second location for the group to play games, watch television, play Ping Pong on our full size table, or enjoy a cocktail at the wet bar. The downstairs refrigerator is just right for that late night snack or drink. You can even sneak out onto the back deck and step into the hot tub. For those who need to be in touch with the office, we offer free high-speed DSL access.
Our house is the perfect location for skiing, with Squaw Valley, Sugar Bowl, Northstar, and Alpine Meadows all within 15-20 minutes. When there's lots of snow, we have a great sledding run right next door. The Tahoe Donner Cross Country Center with its gorgeous and extensive trail system and the Tahoe Donner Ski Area are only five minutes away.
Additionally, WE HAVE A LEVEL DRIVEWAY AND ARE LOCATED ON A WELL PLOWED ROAD, something to take into consideration during the big blizzards! There's room for 6 cars in the garage and driveway combined. The house also gets plenty of sun during the winter, which makes it a cheerful and relaxing retreat if you need a break from the outdoors.
If you are the outdoors type, right out our back door there is a hiking trail leading to miles of forest and to Alder Creek. Fly fishing is located nearby, and there are plenty of mountain biking trails. Additionally, you have access to the wonderful amenities of Tahoe Donner - the private Marina and Beach Club at Donner Lake, the exclusive Trout Creek Recreation Center with fitness center and two swimming pools (THE FITNESS CENTER, SLEDDING HILL AND ONE POOL AS WELL AS SAUNA AND OUTDOOR HOT TUB ALL STAY OPEN IN THE WINTER!), the Northwoods outdoor tennis center with pool and Northwoods Grill, the newly upgraded Tahoe Donner Golf Course (in beautiful shape the summer of 2006), and private Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center that offers lessons and rides with over 40 horses - at guest fee rates. Our mountain home has something for everyone - please come visit!

Hello, I stayed at this property for a weekend for a retreat for our young professionals group (14 of us). The cabin was extremely well taken care of and was more than enough space for us. Cornelia, the owner, also went out of her way to make sure that we can access to everything we needed (hot tub, hot water, kitchen appliances, trash, etc) and ensured that our stay was perfect. The cabin has a fantastic nature feel and I would recommend it to families, adults, and anyone who is looking for a beautiful getaway.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed in this property in early January of this year. By we, I mean 16 of us. There is plenty of room and we were in no way cramped. The place was very clean and well maintained. There is a sled park just down the road that the kids loved. It's easy to find and relatively cheap. The owner let us use passes that were helpful. Easy access to ski resorts in the area. A few minutes drive from everywhere. Loved the place, location and amenities.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Cornelia, Our family had a great long weekend, and I want you to know how much we enjoyed our stay. Your house is so nicely decorated, while still comfortable for families with small children. The abundance of toys - particularly the extensive collection of knights, who held court in the wooden firehouse - was WONDERFUL for the kids. The hill and open space behind the house provided sliding and snow play without needing to drive...perfect for us! Both my daughter and I went to school in Europe; we loved the "Tyrolean" green and white patterned curtains and pillow in the upstairs master bedroom. All-in-all a very attractive and comfortable home. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed here for five nights with three families. In total, we had 8 adults and 8 children. The place is fully stocked, the beds are super comfy and warm, and the living spaces allowed us all to socialize yet have privacy and personal space when desired. The owners are very responsive and want to ensure we had a great stay. Overall, wonderful place to stay!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
