Once you've arrived you're on vacation, right on the water. This 2012 new construction lake house overlooks the Dingley Islands on Big Sebago Lake. It has a private gradual entry waterfront and deep water dock.
Large mature trees on both side of the property give you privacy. The 70+ feet of level grassy lawn allows for additional outdoor activities. There is a fire pit w/ Adirondack chairs so you can sit around the fire roasting marshmallows after watching the sunset. Bring your boat and/or use our (2) kayaks and canoe to explore Sebago Lake. This home features all the modern amenities yet the pine board interior gives it that classic Maine lodge feel. There are five bedrooms, one located on the first floor, and three bedrooms upstairs with additional kids or single room. The fully finished basement has two queen beds and two large sofas.
There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, outdoor grill, two flat screen televisions, internet and more. It is equipped with new furniture, comfortable beds & mattresses with luxury linens and comforters.
Relax while listening to the loons or swim in the crystal clear waters of Big Sebago Lake. Bring your boat and launch from Kettle Cove which is about a 2 minute boat ride. Moor your boat on site for your entire vacation! There is plenty to keep the entire family busy. For day trips; the town of South Casco is minutes from Naples Causeway and less than an hour to both Portland and Freeport Maine.

we stayed for 2 weeks and there were 6 adults and 2 children one week and 8 adults and 4 children the other week. the kitchen was very well supplied (outstanding by any standards) and the mattresses were excellent. As stated all appliances are brand new and they had 2 sets of washers and dryers. Having 2 kayaks and a canoe on site is a plus. The water entry is more rocky than sandy but the swimming off dock is excellent. Ate at Brays, Black Bear, village Inn and Lobster Pound - all were decent meals but also did take out for cooked Lobster at the Lobster Pound and ate on deck at the camp. All restaurants were going towards Naples on 302. The children (13,11,9,7) all enjoyed doing the ropes and zip line at the park towards Windham as did the adults who took part. All in all a very fine stay and the owner was very accessible and helpful. My only negative is the on demand hot water whereby you had to shower in shifts and stay away from using water at the same time as shower was going. One of my sons has been living with on demand for a number of years and does not experience that problem. the only other WISH that I would have is to have a fire pit with 3 sides rather than 4 sides. I would surely recommend this vacation home - very well furnished, a lovely setting and of course the beautiful clear water of Sebago Lake. I also loved drinking the well water rather than bottled water.Owner response: I wasn't notified of the pressure issue until the cleaners came on Saturday afternoon. I called the plumber and he came out on Saturday afternoon to repair. The on demand instant hot water screen was plugged with sediment from the new well. The screen was cleaned out and a filter was installed to prevent any future issues. Thank you and please let me know if there are any questions or concerns.

This property delivered everything it promised and more. The new house is thoughtfully designed for carefree living, with ample space for our family of 10 adults, 6 children and short term visitors. The interior space is charming with luxurious, low maintenance surfaces.....wood, stone-like ceramic tile, granite and stainless steel. The cabinetry and fixtures are high end. The house is outfitted with very comfortable mattresses, lovely linens and appliances, and kitchen and media equipment.......Williams Sonoma, Cuisinart, GE Profile, Samsung, Sony....... Wifi and Cable TV are included. The dining areas and various seating areas inside the house, on the spacious deck and on the lawn are comfortable and ample. The property itself is beautiful. The large deck has stairs leading to a sweeping, beautifully sodded lawn, ending at the water's edge. There is a long, L-shaped dock with a bench and a swimming platform, as well as wide aluminum steps for entering the water. A canoe and 2 kayaks are provided. There is a furniture grouping, including a glider, around the large fire pit. The views of the lake from the house and deck, through the towering fir trees, are magnificent. This property is rural in nature, but is close to a major shopping center which fills any needs, as well as a Medical Clinic operated by Mercy Hospital in Portland, ME. There are entertainment and recreational venues, beaches, state parks and water vehicle rental sites on the Lake. It is less than an hour from the Portland Int'l Jetport and is only two turns off The Maine Turnpike (again, less than 1 hour). The owner of the property is personable, responsive and helpful. We all give it a resounding thumbs up!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Megan is an elementary school teacher (currently a Stay-at-Home-Mom). We live in New York City on the Upper East Side and Greg is a banker for First Republic Bank.
Why the Owner Chose Casco:
I'm originally from Falmouth, Maine and my parents had a camp in the Lakes Region when I was young. My husband and I wanted for our children to have a similar childhood experience at the lake. We had been researching the market on Sebago Lake for a couple of years before we jumped at the opportunity to buy this property. We've rented homes on the lake and learned that we wanted first and foremost to have southern exposure so it would be warm and sunny all day plus we'd get great sunset views off to the west. We also wanted to be in South Casco near Migis Lodge where we were married in 09. The Dingley Islands protect the Kettle Cove area from the wide open water. Not only are the islands beautiful but they provide you with a destination for kayaking and canoeing and loons and other wildlife love to hang out there! We also love that the property has it's own sandy bottom lake front and is also within a short boat ride to the State Park Sand Bar. All of this and the property is not far from Portland and the airport in one direction and the ski mountains in the other.
