My wife and I chose to buy the property and build a cabin at this location because I grew up having a cabin in Lake Tahoe . We wanted something closer for the kids. The traffic is much less and the small home town feeling is reminicent of Truckee where my family spent many vacation when I was growing up. We wanted something we would want to visit for just the weekend. Having a place we would want to vacation all year long providing entertainment for both summer and winter activities was crucial. My family loves the outdoors and seasons. Having a place that snow frequently is found on the ground during the winter was very important to us. The drive is scenic but not difficult. Many homes we visited had winding roads that caused motion sickness before we even arrived. This drive is just perfect. We also wanted a place that would provide us with life long memories of family time together. Fortunately, when the kids were young these memories were made. It was great for inviting friends and family to join us due to the sleeping accomations. Unfortunately, the kids are older and in sports and we are unable to visit as much as we would like. We have enjoyed the large master bedroom suite furnished with log furniture to match our surroundings. Let's not forget private deck off the master sliding glass doors.

Nearby roads are available and closed to provide areas for snowmobiling in the winter. Dirt bike trails and four wheel drive trails great for exploring in the summer. Cabin is at 5500 elevation level. Snow on the ground is very likely during the winter months. excellent cabin!! Me and my family just stood at waynes cabin this last weekend very clean and cozy cabin to stay at me and family really enjoyed it there we went sledding which is only about 6mins away then we also went snowbording at dodge ridge its about 15 mins away we also ate at a near by pizza pub that had really good pizza, me and my family are definitely gona be staying at waynes cabin this summer its so close to the lake besides wayne is supper nice and really easy to work with wont stay anywhere else highly recommend this cabin.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

I want to start by saying this is a great clean house in a great location. The price cannot be beat. We found this to be a much better value for our family than Pinecrest Lake Resort where we had always stayed and we will happily ask Wayne to let us stay again. Wayne responded to all questions promptly and thoroughly. I would like to share some clarification info that will be of benefit to anyone interested in renting. The listing says the house sleeps 12 and it does, but that's with four in the Master bedroom, four in a small downstairs bedroom in two full size beds, three in the "kids bedroom", and one more on the sofa. We had 9 and that was tight for sleeping. There are two bathrooms. The hot water heater supports about 6 five minute showers. Bed linens, towels, dishtowels are not provided. Blankets and comforters and pillow are provided. There are closets but no hangars. There is no place to put away clothes, such as a drawer. There is no Wi-fi and no cell phone service (AT&T). There is no shower soap or kleenex but there is toilet paper and paper towels! There is no pool table or ping pong table, but there is a foosball table. You have to haul out your own garbage. Both linens and garbage service are available for additional fees. Bring a flashlight to find the lockbox if you arrive in the dark. Would we stay again?? You bet!! Wayne's price is totally fair. We were there to ski and enjoy our friends. The location is excellent--no difficulty getting to the house. Roads cleared well. 15 min from Dodge Ridge.Recommended for: Families with young children.

The property was exactly as advertised. It's very nicely furnished and has enough room to keep everyone happy. It's located conveniently close to the lake but located far away enough to be quiet and relaxing. For the kids, there are plenty of things to keep them entertained: dvd player, video games, foosball, and even an arcade type basketball game. We hope to be able to stay here again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We've been coming to Pinecrest Lake for 38 years. And the last 4 years we've rented homes through VBO. This house was a great score and while our dates and scheduling was difficult on our end due to work and coordinating, Wayne was wonderful to work with. He was flexible and understanding and that made it so much easier to plan. We had a great time in Pinecrest this year. We rented this beautiful house for 10 days and loved it. The house is new, nice, clean and very comfortable for families. We had 5 boys aged 10-14 and it was great because they either hung out outside or in the garage with the arcade games. We especially loved the big kitchen and dining/living area - we could cook, play cards and visit and still all be together without being on top of each other. Another nice feature is the neighborhood - it's not on a steep hillside (on stilts) so they boys were able to run around the neighborhood. And Pinecrest Lake was a short drive away - it is, after all - the reason we come here. I highly recommend this house to anyone with kids, grandparents and friends.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

Thanks Wayne. Yes, we had a wonderful time. The cabin lived up to everything you said it would. Beautiful cabin. All the amenities and more than enough room for everyone. Great location. Took us less than 10 minutes to get to the campgrounds. Fun was had by all-especially my Dad. All the family, except sadly my brother, was able to make it. And YES we would love to rent it again. Us girls were thinking of a girls only weekend! Oh Ya! Thank-you again for being a part of our Dad's 80th by letting us stay in your home away from home. It was so appreciated. My family and another couple stayed here. The pictures do not do this cabin justice. We walked in and were in awe of how clean it was and how much was provided in the kitchen. Very kid friendly. There were 7 of us including kids and there was more than enough room. Our family made many memories here to last a life time. We will definitely be staying here again. Very close to the lake and all other recreational activities. The owner was also very pleasant to correspond with..quick responses and very helpful.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay at your cabin! We had a large family reunion and we all fit comfortably. It was easy to find the cabin, and the surrounding area was very nice. When there was a problem with the toilet, the owner took care of it immediately. I would recommend this cabin ,and we hope to return some time in the future!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

Had a great stay here with our family in Dec 2011 over a week. 5 adults and 2 small kids in our party. House is as described, like new, spacious, comfy, very clean. Comfortable beds. Lots of toys/activity for the kids in the house. Large garage. Large kitchen. Very nice paths into the valley and forest just at the end of the street. Pinecrest lake and Dodge Ridge skiing area are super close. Ice skating ring is a hit with the kids. Further down in Twain Hart there is a large grocery store down as well as big kids play ground.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
