Our stay at the Islander was great. The studio unit was small but more than adequate for two of us. Location is ideal, right next to coconut marketplace for shopping, dining, etc, and we love staying in Kapaa; can easily decide each day whether we want to go north toward Hanalei or south toward Poipu. Great views, pool and hot tub, outdoor bar. It is a third floor unit, so if stairs are a difficulty you might reconsider in favor of a lower unit. Microwave and toaster oven, coffemaker available. We shuffled things around just a bit for more counter space, careful to put it all back when we left. Our fourth visit to Kauai and clearly the best value we've found to date. Mahalo!

Our Kauai Vacation

We had a great 3 weeks on Kauai, based at Cindy's condo in the Waipouli/Kapaa area. The place was nice and clean, well equipped for basic cooking and the TV worked well. It is centrally located and a good spot to head north to Princeville/Hanalei area (45-60 minute drive) or south to Poipu, then west as well. Cindy is great at corresponding, answering emails promptly and with good detail. One thing: if you rent this place, don't go by the address as no one at the rental car place knows where it is - just say you are staying at Islander on the Beach and then they can provide directions. The beach is quite nice but is not really a swimming beach as there is a strong current for much of the year. There is a nice pool area with bar and communal BBQs. The only downside (it didn't matter to us) is that the unit is located on the 3rd floor so you are going up and down the stairs all day - if you have bad knees or similar this may be a factor. Overall, a good spot and we would recommend using this as our base to explore beautiful Kauai.

What you want in Hawaii, walk to food and shops. Beach is right there. BBQ by the pool. Friendly people, good bar on the corner. And great studio!

The condo is just as pictured: clean and comfortable. The view, however, is BETTER than pictured; the gardens (gorgeous!), the ocean (beautiful!), the birds (so sweet). This is a great value in a very nicely-maintained complex. We stayed there two weeks and we recommend it highly.

Stayed at this same complex 5 years ago. This studio was far superior. The views from the unit & lanai are breathtaking. Being on the top floor & end unit it is also very quiet with only the sound of the ocean. The grounds are lovely, particularly liked the orchid garden. Having a walking path along the ocean was a nice feature, along with the short walk to the Coconut Marketplace. Kapaa is ideally situated for driving to the various parts of the island. We frequently go to Maui but had forgotten out lush & green Kauai is & such beautiful beaches. Can't imagine staying anywhere else. Just don't pack a heavy suitcase. Mahalo!

Very clean & comfortable studio in a conveniently located, beautifully landscaped complex; within steps from the beach & very close to Coconut Coast Shopping Center. Staff is very friendly and helpful; hot tub & pool on site. The condo fit our needs perfectly and we appreciate how friendly and helpful the owner was. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a very nice & convenient place to stay. I can't wait to return!

Cindy is such a great host and her unit is perfect! We did a no plans vacation and just drove from our room to each side of the island since we were centrally located. We got in a little early can Cindy let us know when the unit was ready. We also had a little issue with the door but Cindy got back to us really quick!

We really enjoyed our stay here and Cindy was very responsive to any questions or needs we had. It was also clean, cozy, and relaxing! The place is close to everything so it was easy to get around the island. We would definitely stay here again should we visit Kauai again!

We just returned from our stay in the beautiful island of Kauai and this condo. It was perfect for our family. We have two young children, but are very adventurous and never spend much time in our room - we really only use our room as a place to sleep. This was the perfect place for our family to return to every night. The grounds are so beautiful and serene, and our room was so peaceful with an amazing view of palm trees and the ocean from the lanai. The unit is centrally located, which makes it a convenient place to stay on Kauai. I would recommend this unit to most travelers with only a few exceptions - the unit is on the third floor, so anyone with difficulties in using the stairs and/or if you happen to have kids that you think may climb on the lanai railing - you may want a floor unit. Cindy was great - even with a late night phone call! If I had any suggestions it would be to have a few more drinking cups in the unit and an extra set of beach towels as they were not always able to dry overnight. As far as things we especially loved during our stay: Breakfast at Ono's and the Kountry Kitchen were fabulous. Both places are unique in their own way, but the pancakes at Kountry Kitchen are enormous and every bite is filled with macadamia nuts! Yum! We loved Bubba Burgers (their onion rings are so good!) and Puka Dog (hot dogs) for yummy dinners. There are also so many fruit and vegetable markets around - we bought papayas and bananas every day. If you want a taste of the island, there is a couple that sells pork lau lau on the street across from the gas station just as you turn off the main highway to go to the light house. We stopped here a couple times, as they were delicious. Our favorite beaches were Tunnels and Anini for snorkeling and Kalapaki for stand up paddle boarding and swimming. If you can, take a boat tour of the Napali Coast with Capt. Andy's. Our crew was awesome and we saw a few young whales that have come south early as well as spinner dolphins - just know that winter is the time for bigger swells on the north and west coasts of Kauai, so if you have a tendency for sea sickness, you will want to watch the surf forecast and plan accordingly. We are lucky that we are not bothered by the movement on the boat, but our friends had a miserable time - and this was on a day with only 4' swells. Overall - a lovely vacation and we would definitely stay here again!

Awesome honeymoon location!!

We had a great time while staying at Islander on the beach. Location is perfict as you can travel North or South as this location is about directly in the middle of island.so everything is relatively close by. The coconut market place is convieniant for walking distance (5 min or so) from room to shops and food. We had never been to this island before and we had a great time there. The Condo is located in a well maintained area, plants are great and the pool area is relaxing and the pool side bar is very nice for a evening of relaxing and meeting new friends. Relaxing stay

Had a relaxing stay at this beautiful, clean studio hale. Enjoy coffee on the lanai and watch the sunrise, or take a short walk down to the beach. Signs say it's not a swimming beach, but is perfect to get your feet wet or sit and watch the waves. The grounds are lovely with an orchid garden and beautiful Plumeria trees. Pictures of table on lanai and room are accurate. Islander on the Beach is very quiet (not a large hotel) and has that old Hawaiian feel. There isn't a restaurant onsite but the Coconut Market Place is an easy walk and has several casual spots to eat, as well at shopping and a free hula show and farmer's market on select days. Also, the Hukilau Restaurant next door is great - need to make a reservation. Cindy was very helpful from the start and offered many suggestions of other places to eat and places to see and do. Kapaa is halfway between Poipu and Princeville, so location is a great mid-point for travel.

Perfect Honeymoon Location

We stayed all over the island (camping on the beach to the Marriott) and this was by far the BEST location. We had all the conveniences of a hotel without all the people and crowds. From our room we could see the ocean and every morning we had coffee on the balcony to watch the sunrise. If we go back I will defiantly be contacting Cindy again. Mahalo!

We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone lucky enough to visit Kaua'i! Unfortunately we were only to sneak away for a brief, 4 day staycation - but enjoyed every minute of it! We are so thankful that we were able to stay at Cindy's condo as it was perfect in so many ways. The location was prime! It has a nice lanai looking out over the pool, beautiful grounds, and has a view of the ocean. Also, staying in Kapa'a made it easy to travel all around the island. We were not hassled with a lot of traffic as it is easy to go North or South from the condo. There is a lot within walking distance or just a sort drive down the road: restaurants, shops, etc. The beach is a short walk from the condo and is not crowded - great for sunrises!! The listing and photos are right on. It is a cute, well maintained and furnished condo. There is everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. Cindy was extremely friendly and helpful. She provided us with some insight before we got to Kaua'i as we had questions about locations and tourist attractions. She was also accessible (even at all hours of the night - sorry Cindy!) We had a bit of trouble with working the key and door the first night - Cindy graciously offered support and checked in the next day to make sure everything was working out. Her hospitality is topnotch! We had a great trip and cannot wait to return! We will definitely be contacting Cindy for future stays.

The listing description and photographs were accurate. The property, including the outside grounds, were well kept. The views from both the front and back of the hale (home) were enjoyable. Access to the beach was excellent. Sitting on the lounge chairs at the beach was relaxing. In Hawaii, we like sleeping with the glass sliding door open to hear the ocean waves. The tradewinds provided fresh air and cooling relief. Third floor location allowed us those pleasures. The Farmer's Market at the shopping center (within walking distance) held on Tuesdays and Thursdays had a great selection of local fruits and vegetables. We have family on the south end of the island. This central location allowed us to enjoy the north end of the island, a visit to the west end and easy daily trips to Eleele. To the owner, much aloha to you. Mahalo for the extra days and very pleasant experience.

We just stayed at your condo in Kapaa this past month. We found everything to be in top order, very clean with no surprises! Its really a great value we found. The location is great on the island if your going to travel around a bit and see the sites. The location is also great in Kapaa for walking to resturaunts and nightlife. The "Trees" bar & grill right next door was serving good food late! and the band that night was fun to listen and dance too! We were very happy to have found this little gem at last minute in out two week trip to the islands. Thank you - Thank you!

We enjoyed five restful nights in this ocean-view condo -- the amenities were exactly what we had hoped for at a fraction of the cost of some of the larger resorts. Kapaa is a great central location to explore the whole island of Kauai and the Islander in particular is centrally located within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, bars, beaches, snorkel spots, etc. The ocean-view lanai was the perfect spot for morning coffee and sunrises. We were very pleased that we had wifi access in the room even though we weren't expecting it. The owners were very easy to work with and answered all emails and questions promptly. Highly recommended!!

My wife and I spent our 6th trip to Kaui in Cindys condo. It is very nice and very clean with new everything. This was our 30th anniversary and so we wanted someplace special. We have stayed in nearby condo complexes but the view from the unit was excellent. We easily received wireless internet access which made it easy to keep up on work emails each morning while have coffee on the lanai and watching for whale activity. The beach here is very nice to walk and just enjoy the surf and power of the ocean. There are walkable restaurants and take out places in the Coconut Marketplace and in the other Condos. The condo looks just like it does in teh pictures and Cindy was very helpful from teh start adn checking up with us to see that we arrived and got checked in. It was a very comfortable stay for a couple.

A Perfect Stay In Paradise - I will be back

Our two week visit wasn't long enough. The location, views and amenities were perfect. What a great value!!! Kapaa is an easy drive from all the wonderful sites on the island, but you don't have to leave the grounds to have a wonderful vacation. The studio was extremely comfortable with everything we needed and better than advertized. The owner would arrange anything we needed, if asked. Very accommodating. My favorite activity was waking early, fixing a cup of coffee and sitting on the lanai to watch the sunrise. The pool, hot tub, ocean, restaurants, bars, and shopping are all within an easy walk. The ocean view and the sound of the waves crashing that you can hear from your lanai and your bed (if you leave the sliding glass door open) are wonderful!! A five minute walk from the room, we discovered a great snorkling spot even for beginers and children. So many fish, so many colors. The resort is about half way between Hanalei to the north and Waimea and Poipu to the south. Kauai is the perfect island. There are not too many tourists, so many beautiful beaches with no one on them but you, beautiful sunsets and sunrises, the Na Pali Coast, Wailua River, Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific), championship golf courses, all of the activities you get on the other islands without the cement, traffic and wall-to-wall hotels. I WILL BE BACK. Thank you so much.

I was able to spend a few days in this property on my first visit to Kauai in September of this year. It is truly the perfect place for a couple to stay in the area. I was able to check out the whole island from this location by car, stroll the beach at sunrise, and the studio itself was immaculate. Quiet, comfortable, well-appointed and clean. The view is not right on the water, but the sunrise view is spectacular! The pool is nearby and visible from the lanai and I was able to check out the best times to visit it. In closing, the owner was a delight, the property was super-comfortable and the location is perfect for anyone who wants a home base from which to see the beautiful island of Kauai.
