Welcome. From the moment you enter the gate and are surrounded by the garden and pool you may never want to leave.
Walk inside your home away from home and enjoy. Take in the mountain view from upstairs from Namolokama unobstructed to Bali Hai. At sunset the house lights up and the colors are unbelievable.
Walking up the jatoba hardwood staircase and onto the quarter sawn jatoba floor the upstairs of the house is where the best views are and that is where the kitchen and living area is. Dining is mostly on the outdoor deck where there is a 10' teak table that seats 10 or more. Inside, the island bar seats 4 and the nook can seat 6 or more. Lots of sitting and lounging area in the living area . If you are wet and need some lunch there is an outdoor spiral stair to get you up to where lunch is served on the covered lanai.
The master bedroom has a king bed with a beautiful pool view walk in shower and mango wood closet double vanity and a t.v if you just want to chill away from it all.
The bamboo room is the other bedroom in the house with its own bathroom although this is only a 1/2 bath the outdoor private shower behind the ipe wood gate is always a favorite for all guests there a queen size bamboo platform bed in this room. There also is a tv and dvd so you also can chill there away from it all.
Bedroom three has a queen bed and comfy sitting chair and full length free standing mirror so you can make sure you look your best before heading out.
Last but not least there is #4 which has 2 beautiful twin beds for the kids or overgrown kids who prefer to sleep alone.
If you have more than 8 people there are 2 single folable futons to put on the floor near the door to the pool.
For these 2 rooms there is another bathroom with double vanities and a slate tiled tub/shower
Soooo much space on the pool deck to hide out from passing showers patio table with 4 chairs 2 steamer chairs and a few plastic adorondack chairs make poolside living really easy.
After touring the island you can park your car and walk to Hanalei Bay swim across the river and stroll the beach to Pinetrees. For surfers at the end of the path you can paddle out the backdoor channel to surf legendary Hanalei or, ride the bike over to Hideaways. Upon returning put some food on the grill and enjoy the pool and spacious deck and soak up the sun,sunset or the pool or hot tub.
Not to jump around but the kitchen with the six gas burner stove and great knves and nice pots and pans make this a cooks paradise especially when you add the view in!

We just returned from a 12 night stay in this incredible home and absolutely loved it! We rented the house with one other family--4 adults and 4 kids (ages 5-10 years old). There was plenty of room for everyone and even futons that we didn't even use. The house was imaculately decorated And the kitchen was a cooks dream! We cooked a lot of our meals in this well stocked, top of the line kitchen and ate every evening out on the beautiful lanai. I'm a clean freak and the cleanliness of this house exceeded my expectations! We kept saying the whole vacation, "we love this house"! The pool was SO great for the kids and when it was rainy, they could warm up in the hot tub. We had a hard time getting them out of the pool to go to the beach and they couldn't wait to soak in the hot tub at the end of the day. The outdoor shower was great with kids too because they just hopped in there after a day at the beach and got all the sand off. We spent a lot of our time at Hanalei bay which is a short 10 minute drive. There are also great beaches within walking distance (although a long walk for kids). We went to Hidden beach (great for snorkeling) and Queens bath, which are both a couple blocks away. Jimi was great with communication and always got right back to me with any questions I had. He even checked in on us when we were staying there. This home is perfect for a family vacation, and our 3 generation family of 10 thoroughly enjoyed the wonderfully designed home away from home. The upper floor is an incredible gathering place with several sitting areas and a fully stocked kitchen with first class appliances. The views from every upstairs window were magnificent, and we especially enjoyed our meals on the lanai looking out at 'Puff, the Magic Dragon" and his bigger cousin, 'Buff' in the background. The master suite is fabulous, and the other 3 bedrooms gave us plenty of room for our whole group. The owner has provided all the extras to make for a superb vacation. The listing is very accurate, and the home is well-maintained and very clean, exceptionally well-equipped. The owner was very responsive and helpful with our questions. Walks to the cliffs to look for whales, rides on bicycles on the village pathways, and trips to the beach down the hill to Hanalei Bay were all part of a very nice holiday. Shopping for groceries is a short trip away, and the whole magnificent N. shore of Kauai is at your disposal by car. We just returned from a wonderfull vacation and can not say enough good things about this perfect house locked inside paradise. This was our eigth or ninth trip to the islands and we had gotten married at the princeville nine years earlier but we were returning this year with our 2 children ages 3 1/2 and 5 1/2. . The pool is an extremely big plus and will always hold a special spot for us as our daughter learned to swim without Floaties after a week of practice here... From the sunset views upstairs on the lanai and kitchen to bedrooms and pool area everything is even better than the photos. Jimi the owner was there if you needed him but let us have a quiet vacation in this fabulous home. I will recomend this home to my closest friends and family and encourage them to advantage of this jewel... We have already rebooked for next year. My family stayed at this private home for a week during my wedding festivities held at St. Regis. Location is perfect, with amazing views of Bali Hai and about less than a mile from St. Regis. Jim was very accommodating, especially when we hosted a farewell brunch at the house with about 75 people. The pool was thoroughly enjoyed by the little ones and the adults loved the hot tub. It's a lovely property and we felt very at home the entire stay. The kitchen is remarkable with top of the line appliances. We miss it so much and will definitely stay again next time we're in Kauai! MAHALO!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

Our love of our Kauai vacation was firmly rooted in renting this outstanding property. Our experience with the owner was excellent from beginning to end. This house has everything a family of 5 or more could need: Chef's dream kitchen, pool, hot tub, beautiful master bedroom suite, 3 other great bedrooms, lots of living space indoors and out, laundry, nearby convenience of a grocery store, gas station and restaurants, incredible view.....we could go on and on. Our family (2 kids, 2 parents, 4 grandparents) stayed here for 2 weeks and had the best vacation ever! We have been to Kauai many times, and this house is by far our favorite place to stay. The location is excellent, particularly in the summertime when the surf is very low on the north shore and snorkeling is superb. A terrific beach at the St. Regis was a scenic 10-minute walk away, and getting to Hanalei with its shopping and world-class beach was a 10-minute drive. The Princeville shopping center with a large grocery and lots of food and shopping options (great shave ice!) was a quick drive or pretty 2-mile bike ride on an off-road multi-use path. The other reviews have done a great job describing the luxuriously appointed house and wonderful view. As others say, the photos can't do it justice--it's truly perfect. A few things to add: (1) There is a lovely piano for music lovers. (2) Several of my family members are picky about mattresses, and the beds were super comfortable for everyone. (3) The garage is very well stocked with pool toys, beach stuff, and nice bikes, and there was a seemingly endless supply of comfy beach towels. (4) The pool is extremely nice in terms of temperature, size, amount of sun vs. shade, in-pool benches, etc., and we hardly wanted to leave to go anywhere. Having such a wonderful pool at your fingertips is a perk we had underestimated. This house is highly recommended, and we definitely plan to return!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

my family of 7 stayed here and can't say enough great things about this house...everyone loved it, from the pool to the awesome kitchen. great location--walking distance to hideaway beach and the st regis resort. loved the pool and jacuzzi with tons of space to relax--great spot to unwind after exploring the island. jimi, the owner, was available and quick to respond to inquiries/issues prior to and during our stay. one of the fans in the bedroom was not working and he came and repaired it immediately. this home is beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. would definitely stay here again and would recommend this home to anyone that is planning a trip to kaua'i. thanks for making our family vacation so amazing!!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This house exceeded our expectations, great location and views from the upstairs lanai. Spent most of the day in the awesome pool and walked down to the st Regis for beach time. The house is in a great location, with stores close by and all princeville areas very close. Will definitely stay here again, the house is beautiful.....Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

We had a great stay at the house. It was very spacious for our family of four and the two grandmas. It's absolutely beautiful, has fantastic amenities, all sorts of fun things to use at the beach, necessities for our toddler and Jimi was immediately responsive on anything and everything. The home is in a great location, close to wonderful beaches and amazing views. The house was perfect!! We rented this house with the intent of two families of 3 staying, but ended up with only us. Had the other family been able to come, it would have accomodated us with no problems. It was awesome to have the pool and spa which was used daily, sometimes twice;-) The owner was a pleasure to work with, and even gave me a call the day before we arrived to notify me of the highway being closed during our arrival time. We shopped first and arrived at the house with no problem. Everything was exactly as promised, plus++!! There are 3 beach cruisers (junior, middle and large) and I packed our 9 yr old's bike helmet and we took nightly family bike rides around Princeville. The kitchen is wonderful and the BBQ is like new. We BBQ'd almost every night and our daughter set the table on the upstairs lanai and even decorated with candles. It was better than any restaurant setting - watching sunset over Bali Hai...The accomodations were very comfortable and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!!Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: Me ... Bought this lot built the dream house we called it our mini Hyatt for years. I still call it that because when I am there I usually do not want to get in my car. I love my home and hope you will too.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
After years of living on the East side and spending weekends surfing and hanging out on the north shore thought it would be nice to live on this side.
After looking around Princeville a bit decided this neighborhood seemed quiet and the fact that we can walk to Hanalei Bay was a huge plus.
The view from this lot was so spectacular (as you will see) that we loved it.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Having had the house designed and built for us by friends and family shines through in the details.
Owning a small hardwood lumber yard on the island and knowing many of the craftsmen was a real plus. The mango wood master closet is testament to that.
We never planned a pool when we purchased the lot, but the way the lot was layed out and the unique design Jim Antony did a pool just fit in. So... we did it and have never looked back and really love the ambiance it has brought to the house.
I never thought it would rent out so much so sometimes we block out some time for us. lol
