THE CONDO: If you want a lovely place to stay in a great location, then you should stay here! The condo was perfect for the six of us - two parents, one grandma, and three children (3-9-years-old). It is beautifully maintained and has all the conveniences of home right on the best beach in Maui. The property manager Becky corrected the few problems we had immediately. The best service we have had in any rental. THE BEACH: We went snorkeling right off the beach in front of Honua Kai. The beach is sandy and narrow at water's edge, and drops off suddenly to about 1-2 feet in depth to sand interspersed with large rocks. A bit further out, at about 3-4 feet depth you are swimming over coral and rocks, and then deepens to lots of fish and coral. Past the edge of the water, you will want to use surf shoes. THE POOL AND PROPERTY: The three pools are amazing, with a water slide, waterfall, lots of hot tubs and a convenient restaurant with great poolside service. The grounds are lovely, with huge areas of grass. I enjoyed going to the gym to at least keep up with my exercise program.

Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

This condo unit #233 honua kai was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. Was great to have beach chairs, snorkel gear, coolers in the unit to use. Full, gourmet kitchen, equipped with everything needed to cook fabulous meals. There's a nice health food market down the street, has fresh produce and baking every day. Also, one of the best fish markets in Maui, across in a little plaza was terrific! The deli downstairs was pricey, but well worth it, everything fresh within 100 miles! Unit was not oceanview, but only steps away from very close, and fast elevator. We highly recommend this resort, it was beautiful. The best beach in Maui as far as I'm concerned. Cant wait to stay here again:)

Very clean, beautifully appointed condo in the new and upscale Honua Kai Resort. No complaints with this wonderful unit, and CANNOT BEAT THE VALUE. Property managers provide excellent, attentive service. Beach toys and boogie boards in the unit are a plus. View limited from unit, with mostly mountain and parking lot views, but the exquisite ocean view is literally seconds away by walking downstairs. You'll mostly sleep in the unit, so who cares about the view, but, fortunately, the beds are luxurious! If you do want to cook, kitchen is well appointed too. Already thinking about our next stay here!

Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We couldn't have asked for anything more! The condo and Honua Kai resort are tastefully done and well equipped to provide the perfect Hawaiian vacation. The owner has provided nice extras that were really useful (beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler bag, etc..). The property description and photos were very accurate and helpful. Honua Kai does not disappoint: The resort's many pools and waterslide are a blast! And grilling at the grill-station while watching breaching wales frolicking was a highlight, as was strolling the beach as the morning sun lit up the neighboring islands of Lanai & Molokai.

Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

About the owner: Maui has been a favorite island of my family and millions of others for years. I can think of no better island to vacation on. This was the first new condo development on the beach in kaanapali in over 20 years and I like the fact that everything would be new and up to date.

Why the Owner Chose Honua Kai:
Brand New, Luxury Resort on Kaanapali Beach. This was the first whole ownership condominium on Kaanapali Beach in 25 years. The other condo complexes are nice, but they are showing their years. We never planned on buying our vacation condo 4 minutes from our house, but this was too good to pass on.
