Beautiful histroic house with all modern equipments (including high speed wifi!) and gorgeous surroundings. Only 1 block away from Walmart and less than 40 minutes drive to Mammoth Cave National Park. More importantly, owner of the house is very kind and replies to all our messages promptly. We really enjoyed our stay in this place.

The Jentz, Warren, Henneblig family. We found this to be as great house for the entrire family. Evenings were spent outside enjoying the wide open spaces. Soccer, bubbles, grilling, frizbees, football. Space for everyone. We learned there is a great deal of history to the place and hope you are able to keep it up. Lots of time and money involved in this old house.

Grooms family hosted a beautiful rehearsal dinner in this fantastic house on Thursday night with about 50 guest and the air conditioner was GREAT! We didn't even notice the severe thunderstorm that was happening outside there was so much joy and happiness inside. Our internet connection wasnt working after the storm but two gentlemen came ti fix it bright and early the next morning (thank you). While preparing food in the kitchen we noticed a few things that might need to be added: cutting board, metal colander, large serving spoons, iron/ironing board, quality linens just a preference Our family had a wonderful time! We were very pleased to find a place to stay and host a dinner. It was a perfect place and glad we found it on VRBO. The location was great it was close to the wedding site Ft. Webb. and we loved being so close to WalMart (we had to make several trips) It was difficult to find the entrance off of Morgantown Rd. Thank you for sharing this historic house with us.The character and history were fantastic. We loved hearing the floors creak and finding all the creative details in the wood-work, etc. We hope you continue to work on the house so other families can enjoy it as much as we did.

No Internet, tv would not come on in master bedroom

Owner response: Thank you for your comment. Yes we were hit hard by several storms prior to your stay with us. We work very hard to get things back in order and up and running. Due to the number of customers without service the internet/cable companies were not able to get there before you departed. Unfortunately, sometimes things out of our control can happen. We hope you come back.

5 of us enjoyed the lovely old home for our annual staff retreat. We loved being able to sit under the trees & visit away from work. This is a wonderful home - so full of history. It was great being close to eveything yet being in a pastoral sitting. It will be interesting to watch this home as it is restored to grandeur.

Our staff rented this property for our annual retreat. It is a lovely old home with a feel of history. There were a few issues (a storm had come through prior to our visit), but nothing dampened our fun or enjoyment of this beautiful old home. It is obvious the owners are updating a bit at a time. It is conveniently located to lots of activities (the women especially loved the shopping opportunities) and one of the staff raved about a close-by ATV operation. We would heartily recommend it for families as well as other groups. It is very heart warming to see a piece of history being maintained!

Owner response: Thank you for your kind comments. We appreciate your understanding with the weather issues. We work very hard to get things back in order in situations like this.

I was looking for a place that would house fourteen teenagers and four chaperones and found this house to be everything we needed and more. As we were driving up the manger called to say there was some electrical problems due to a storm the night before we arrived but by the time we got there most of the electrical problems were fixed ie the a/c was up and running. The kitchen was excellent-it allowed us to cut back on fast foods for the teens and provide them with healthy meals. WlaMart was just around the corner which provided us with easy access to make this home away from home very pleasant. The rooms were adequate and fit the description given of the house. We arrived on July third and settled in. The teens really enjoyed exploring the grounds. We were told there were broken branched and a tree that was damaged but this did not hinder the teens in their exploration of the property. On the fourth of July we enjoyed visitng the corvette museum, railway museum, and finally ended our afternoon at Beechbend amusement and water park. When we arrived back at the house the teens sat upstairs and watched the fireworks from the windows. It was amazing; no matter what window you looked out of in the house you could see fireworks all around you. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling with a big group. It has all the conviences of home and what is missing can be purchased at WalMart's located just around the corner. Tiffany, the manger, was very helpful. She looked up attractions we could possibly take part in during our stay. All in all the house was everything we needed and more. Thanks to the owner and manger for sharing such a beautiful piece of property with us.

Elegant old home with much character. Plenty of room for our family whom ranged from 3 months to 79 years. AC worked great during extreme heat wave. Back lawn patio & front porch swing were our main gathering area outside of the kitchen. More directions off of RT 231 needed to find entrance. But once on the property peace and quite was abundant at all times! Guest with small baby was allowed early entrance which was much appreciated due to extreme heat.

The property mgr allowed my grandson with a 3 mo. old child to use the facilities before the prescribed check-in time. With the temp at 106 this was greatly appreciated. The time spent having my children and grandchildren meet my fiance was wondrfull. Many people met strangers and enjoyed the week-end tremenously. The only thing that spoiled the event was a thunderstorm that left a few rooms in the dark. The kitchen was alwas cold, but the A/c did a good job in the rest of the house. Wonderful old house that could probably tell a great story. Would come again.

This is a very charming victorian home, built in the 1800s and recently updated. Kitchen is new, and well appointed. House has much charm, not found anymore. The property is secluded, and you feel like you are on you own private farm, even though the city is building up around the property. Detailed directions to the house would be helpful.

Owner response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. We really appreciate comments and suggestions. We will look at travel directions guest are getting when they goggle address and see what we can do to help find the property easier.

3 of our children and 10 of our grandchildren ranging in age of 72-10 years old. We loved our stay at Walnut Lawn. The kids all wanted us to buy this place. The imperfections were noticed but "who cares". Tiffany was a great help. There was always a place to be by yourself if one needed to be. Loved the wildlife and the large yard. Great for a family to be a family. Thanks You

All 17 of us, ages 72 to 10 years old, had a wonderful time. We were pleasantly surprised to see the property. Some of the children laid out on the ground and watched the stars out back after dark, played hide and go seek. We took our croquet set from home and had that set up the whole time. Played till dark. Some played at the piano, with what little they knew how to play. Fun! Just sitting on one of the swings by yourself was great way to gather your thoughts Kids were sure there were ghosts there somewhere, but were disappointed not to find any. HA! The house has a little mystery to it. We were looking for the big portrait on the wall with the eyes that move. You know, like in the scarey movies. Only thing I would like to see different was there could be a better grade of bedding on beds. Although, what was there was sufficient. And there were ants in the kitchen, they were tiny and seemed to be more and more each day we were there. We tried to keep kitchen clean. If it were my property, I would get rid of the carpeting. Don't get me wrong, we loved the place and would consider it again. And would recommend it. Tiffany, Thank You for everything. You were there when called upon. Great to have a real person to talk to. You were so very helpful! Bill, Janice and family

This was a great place to stay and had plenty of room for children. It was so nice to sit on the porch and watch the children play in the front yard -- and they loved chasing the rabbits! There were only two things that I found that could have been improved on. One was that the kitchen was not as well stocked with cooking pots as I expected. With a large house usually comes a large family which means lots of cooking. Also, there were only enough bath towels for the exact number of people staying. So, when we needed a towel to dry off something outside, it left us short that night for showers. Other than that -- great stay! The local water park/amusement park was awesome!

This historic home is very accommodating. We were looking for a convienent place for a family reunion and Walnut Lawn fit the bill. The only concern is the lack of handicap accessability.
