Jaco chateau / country house description
While close to surfing, shopping, restaurants & nightlife, sometimes its nice to stay at a retreat, where you can enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. We're located about 20 minutes from Jaco, Close enough to enjoy the beaches and all that Jaco has to offer, but where you can also walk out your front door, go for a hike and end up in the waterfalls less than a 1/2 mile, then slip into the private pool overlooking this amazing view of the Nicoya Peninsula, it doesn't get much better.
This home is perfect for a relaxing, peaceful holiday. Overlooking Jaco, Herradura, and the Nicoya Peninsula, and bordering Carara National Park, Cielo Gardens is an excellent destination for vacationers wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect for families, or couples wanting to explore the real Costa Rica.
Cielo Gardens has more than 40 waterfalls of various sizes under the forest canopy and a short walk from the house. The entire ecosystem in this area is built around the constantly flowing spring waters. This is the absolute best location to see this wondrous system in action every single day. These waters draw monarch butterflies, humming birds, dragonflies, and even Costa Rica’s famed colorful tiny dart frogs. Scarlet macaws, toucans, hawks, parakeets, parrots and more are seen daily at the waterfalls and trails.
Located in a new gated community, this home was constructed in 2010, and has ocean views from every room in the house. If you like to cook, you'll love the kitchen; cooking a meal while enjoying views of the Nicoya Peninsula is something you'll never forget. The high exposed teak beamed ceilings draw the warmer air up to provide a cool environment within the house. All bedrooms have air conditioning, although the nights can be very cool, and you'll more than likely want to keep the windows open to feel the cool breezes.
There are three spacious bedrooms, two with queen size beds, and one with 4 bunk beds. The large master bedroom has an en-suite bath with large shower. The other 2 bedrooms share a Jack and Jill bath and another half bath is off the living area. The living room is furnished with comfortable leather sofas, and a movie library to enjoy.
This home also features it's own private pool and outdoor dining area overlooking the amazing ocean views of Nicoya Peninsula and Gulf. All within a 20 minute drive you'll find a Tilapia farm, where you can fish for your own lunch! And they'll cook it up however you like. Also a short drive away is Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls - where you'll also find Adventure Dining - ranked among the top restaurants in the area with Trip Advisor. Day trips include a day in Manuel Antonio, or Dominical. There's just so much to do, but you'll want to find time to enjoy this wonderful retreat.

Recently we had the pleasure of staying at this amazing Chateau in Costa Rica. It was everything the listing said ... and more! Not only was the property quiet & secluded, but the Manager was extraordinary! The property is well maintained and had everything we needed for a peaceful, very relaxing holiday. Our Manager added a lot to the enjoyment of our trip as well. She was very eager to provide us with suggestions of things to see and do and the best places to eat - even the little gems tucked away in the mountains. We can't wait to visit again ... next time it will definitely be longer! After sharing pictures of our trip with our family, I expect we'll have some stow-a-ways next time!

Gorgeous house. Amazing views. Extremely quiet and peaceful. Lots of fun. Great waterfall nearby. Easy to get to Jaco for beach and shops ... and to add to it all the property manager is a wonderful, friendly, helpful person! I would highly recommend this house for all ages and groups.

The home was nice and had beautiful views. Unfortunately it is quite a 20 minute drive up the mountain to get there from Jaco. Our little front wheel cars had a hard time getting to the property.

Manager response: Thank you for your review Reid. I'm so glad you enjoyed the house and the views. I was a little concerned about the small front wheel drive cars you rented, and how they would do on our roads. I try to remember too urge everyone to rent 4x4 when visiting this property, or really any property in Costa Rica. Aside from the highways, Costa Rican roads, especially in the mountains, are mostly unpaved and can be a bit of a pain without 4x4 and especially in the small cars. I hope, aside from the roads, you enjoyed your vacation. Kelie
Beautiful home and view
Beautiful home and view
This was a beautiful place to stay and the house was spacious enough for us to include family and guests. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to prepare great meals. The road is tricky even for those of us who live on country dirt roads at home.If you never have to leave this is a perfect place.

Manager response: Thank you for the review of the property. I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation, and hope to see you again!
This place was even better than we expected! Our only regret was not staying here for more than a week! This house is for those who truly want to be secluded (but yet only a 20 minute drive into town). You DEFINITELY need a 4x4 for this property. The place was spotless when we arrived, we were extremely well taken care of, and Kelie's help with all of the excursions we wanted to do was really appreciated. The listing accurately reflected the rental's appearance and was actually bigger than we thought. We were three adults (one couple and one single and two children) and this place was more than big enough for us. We loved the fact that the master bedroom was on one side of the house while the other two were on the other side (seperated by the bathroom)....this allowed for a lot of privacy (and for our children to wake up and not wake us up!). We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay with great mountain views (we saw some great toucans early in the morning and got some great shots). The ziplining close by we would definitely recommend as well as some beach time-as for restaurants, they vary in price, but anything local usually is the best. Thank you Kelie for helping us with an unforgettable vacation :)

Manager response: Thanks for the review! It was great to meet you all, and I'm so glad you got to take advantage of all the activities, both here and the Caribbean side! I think you guys did more in a couple weeks than I have in 10 years! And I'm very happy you guys were able to take surf lessons with Hershel, I just think he's the greatest! Hope to see you again. Beautiful home. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The kids loved playing in the pool. Adults relaxing - enjoying the cool air, nature and just how quite it was. I truly recommend this place.

Manager response: Thank you for your review, and recommending this home. I'm so glad you enjoyed your quiet time at the property, it's a great place to get away from the heat and ofter very crowded Jaco. And I couldn't agree more about the gorgeous views. Thanks again. Kelie
This property is located in paradise, you feel like you are in the top of the world. The view will pleased the most demanding people. The house is very clean, with all the amendies and larges rooms where everybody can have their privacy. The area is very quiet, no close neighbors.I would really recommand that propriety and would rent it again. I would recommand you to have a 4x4 to drive up their and it is a 15 to 20 minutes drive, up to the mountain, from Jaco, on a dirt road, but the drive worths it.

When can we come back?!!
When can we come back?!!
This property was an amazing place to stay in Costa Rica! The house was gorgeous, comfortable, and clean. The view- AMAZING. Had our group of 7 not been able to leave the house for the week, I think the pool and the surrounding views and waterfalls would have made it just fine. Fortunately, there were so many fun and amazing things to see and do nearby the house from surfing and shopping to deep-sea fishing and zip-lining. The property manager was incredibly helpful in getting our group to the best surfing spots, shopping places, and hooking us up with the right groups to zip-line and white water raft with. She is a great resource that comes with this perfect property! Or group plans on returning to Costa Rica and we will definitely try to stay in this house again as well. Thanks for a perfect week in paradise!

Fabulous Family Getaway
Fabulous Family Getaway
My husband, 3 teenagers and I spent a relaxing 8 days in this lovely home in late June. The house was nicely furnished and well appointed. The bedrooms were air conditioned but we found we didn't need to use it and usually slept under a light blanket because the elevation on the mountain kept it so much cooler than at the beach. We found this to be a wonderful getaway from our busy lives and a great reconnect with our kids. Instead of cell phones and electronic games we hiked to the nearby waterfall, surfed or relaxed by the pool during the day, and played card and board games (provided at the house) at night. Everything we needed was a 20 minute ride down the mountain in Jaco-excellent restaurants, grocery stores, and souvenir shopping. We plan to return in the near future.

This is a lovely house! The drive to it is an adventure in itself. It is located high on a ridge with a beautiful view of the Gulf of Nicoya. The property was clean and well maintained with a nice pool. Bedrooms were air conditioned. Kelie (property manager) gave us lots of information about activities in the area. . Re restaurants: we went to Pocho's (in Dalicias) for lunch and Pili Pili (in Jaco) for dinner. Both were great and the constrast was too cool. We loved the drive to Dalicias and the dining experience. Pili Pili had fabulous food. RE activities: We really enjoyed the trip to Jardines Pura Vida. A beautiful botanical garden with great views - including the "mouth" of the Tarcoles River. Other standouts: the waterfalls in the neighborhood (fantastic!), Carara NP and Manuel Antonio NP. We loved it and would highly recommend it.
