This was our second stay at 909 White Street and this trip was every bit as enjoyable as our last. The house was wonderful and was exactly how we remembered it. This home has all of the modern conveniences that you could want, but it still has the historic, Old Town Key West charm. The house is somewhat centrally located between the beaches (both Smathers Beach and Higgs Beach) and downtown, which we really liked. There is a full service grocery store less than a block away and there are seafood markets and restaurants within easy walking distance. To top it all off, the property manager, Shel, was absolutely fantastic and was always available to answer any of our questions. We have stayed in other homes in Key West where the property manager meets you to get you settled in and then seems to vanish into thin air. This is NOT the case with Shel. He is on top of his game! Overall we could not be happier with our stay. The house is perfect, it is in a great location and the management is top notch. This combination made for another great experience at this house and another unforgettable trip to Key West.Owner response: We are gratified that our guests had such a great experience. Our goal is to spoil our guests for all other vacation homes, so they will come back again and again.

This home is very warm and welcoming. The kitchen is over-stocked. EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Just bring the food. We found the living space enormous, and clean. Very tastefully decorated. Even got to love the DODO statue on the table. We stayed a month. My favorite.....the huge pool... "have to watch out for the falling coconuts". The pool was wonderful. Plenty of outdoor space to sit etc. Sheldon was great. When we called him ref washing machine, he came right over. Very obliging and friendly. We really liked him. The pool is only cleaned on Fridays, so we cleaned it everyday, and it was easy. Then we got the reward of jumping in. We also bought an extra lounging chair. We treated this home as if it was ours - Respected and enjoyed it. IF I OWNED A HOME. .....would love for it to be this one. To the owners: thank you for having us as your guests. BEST VACATION MY FAMILY AND I HAVE EVER HAD.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

The photos show different outdoor furniture than that provided which was not comfortable and not enough loungers, only 2 when we were a party of 6. Printer next to tv. not working. Safe upstairs but not available to guests. All rugs were in need of a clean and the first thing you see when you enter is the bannister that had chips out of the paintwork making it look tatty. The back yard was messy with boxes and equipment lying around. The pool guy came and it was lovely for a few hours but being surrounded by so many trees the pool was soon dirty again. Don't sit anywhere near the palms as you may get hit by the falling debris. The whole house was dark and the seating area in lounge was small, also having the washer and dryer in lounge area not very nice. I wouldn't recommend this property unless it had a complete refurbishment. Our contact Shel was lovely and very helpful. The best restaurant we went to was Louie's backyard on the coast, fantastic. Martins was the best on Duval St. Sammy's was great for snacks and just across Trueman. The house has a good location as you can walk straight down White street to the pier about 1 mile and you can walk down to Duval street too.Owner response: We at Last Key Realty were very saddened to read the review posted by this guest. According to our most popular Guest Services Coordinator, Shel (read other reviews for the rave response to Shel's personality and service), these concerns were not voiced during the guests' stay - and had they been voiced they would have been addressed immediately. However, we appreciated the feedback posted on this review and we took the concerns very seriously. Following this review, the owner of the property invested heavily in addressing and resolving ALL of the issues listed that were able to be addressed. New chaise lounges were brought in, the carpets were all replaced or heavily cleaned, all necessary areas in the home were repainted, new lighting was placed in areas claimed to be "dark," and the pool area was cleaned up of all items and equipment that left this guest dissatisfied. Although it is unfortunate that this guest chose to voice the concerns via this public forum rather than directly to us in order to resolve it, we always appreciate the feedback of our guests and take it very seriously. We urge potential guests at Casa Blanca 1888 to read through ALL of the reviews, and contact us directly to discuss this review so that we can assure you that all issues raised have been resolved.

Casa Blanca…Another Expression For Paradise. We arrived at Casa Blanca from New York at 5 pm on a hot Wednesday evening and were greeted by Shel, the Guest Services Manager. He brought in our luggage, carried it upstairs to the master bedroom and made us feel right at home. Next he gave us a tour of this absolutely beautiful 1888 Historic Register Home with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and almost every amenity you could possibly imagine, including one of the largest private pools in Key West. Shel was at our beck and call at a moments notice throughout our stay and his attention to our every need added immensely to our enjoyment. Thank you Shel! For six glorious weeks we enjoyed this gorgeous home…its large modern kitchen, its living room with a fantastic sound system, its master bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed, its three other bedrooms our guests loved, its off-street parking, its convenient walk-to access to local markets, restaurants, galleries and St. Mary Star of the Sea Basilica. The 30-foot pool was the star, however. We were in it day and night doing laps or simply floating on our noodles, talking the time away trying to decide which fabulous restaurant we would try that night. To summarize, our six-week idyll in Paradise was simply perfect. The proof - we’re already booked for a return visit next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I went down to Casa Blanca along with my college age daughter, her two cousins, my sister and my mother. We found the house great for the multi-generational extended family. The first floor bedroom was wonderful for my mother and having the master bedroom overlooking the pool/yard was divine. I was able to read on the balcony and have a little privacy while still being in the fresh air. Although I barely used the TV in my bedroom, we loved having the option of watching TV in all four bedrooms, which was especially handy for my mother and the teenage girls. The kitchen/dining area was very large and inviting, especially for Key West standards. The family room worked out well when we watched a few movies. Loved the pool area and we were able to bring our rented bikes into the backyard to keep them safe at night. The location proved to be even better than I had remembered when I lived in Key West as a teenager, given there is so much more going on further down Duval Street all the way down to the Southernmost Beach area. Loved being so close to the Cuban coffee place too! There are many great walks from the property, either to the downtown area or towards the beaches..... We rarely used the car and walked or biked to most places, including the beaches and restaurants. We went to many of the restaurants Shel suggested, which were all good, and used the gift certificate at the Banana Cafe for breakfast- highly recommend! Casa Marina is still wonderful and the many newer restaurants were delicious too. Blue Heaven and Mangia Mangia were great for a group and Sol had the best fish dish we have eaten in awhile. Thanks for the tips on Eaton Bike Rentals and the beach near the Truman Annex! The home was very charming and really felt like a Conch House that was treated with care. The artwork throughout the home, along with the artist descriptions, made us feel right at home. Couple of things that we think would add to the experience and would be inexpensive are: portable fans in bedrooms to kill (the considerable) street noise at night so that we don't need to put on the air conditioners (saves electricity too), a docking station for IPOD's, especially in the kitchen area so that we can listen to music while cooking or in other areas, better kitchen knives and some platters. We found the listing accurate, very clean and well maintained and would recommend to others-thank you! Wish I could stayed the whole time!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

All I can say is this house was fantastic! The house has every modern amenity you could want, but still has that wonderful, historic charm that homes in that area are known for. The location of the house is perfect, being about an equal distance to both downtown Duval and the beaches. The pool and outdoor patio are huge compared to other rentals that we have experienced in that area. We had plenty of sun at the pool all day long and spent many days there just enjoying the beautiful weather. To top it off, there is a grocery store less than a block away as well as a fantastic Italian restaurant right down the street that we visited several times while we were there. Overall the house was exactly as advertised. The pictures in the listing make the house look amazing, but it is even better in person. The property was clean and very well maintained and I can honestly say that we will be back in the near future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Staying at Casa Blanca 1888 provided my family and friends memories that we will cherish for a lifetime! This spacious historic home, beautifully decorated and accented with stunning Key West art gave us a wonderful sanctuary close to all there is to see and do. The large kitchen and dining area made cooking local seafood and enjoying meals together a delight. Relaxing by the heated pool with orchids in bloom, feeling the ocean breezes through the windows, star gazing and viewing sun rises from the master bedroom, are all part of melting into the relaxing wonderful atmosphere of Casa Blanca. Using the bikes provided we pedaled a short distance to enjoy Key West shops, wonderful bars and restaurants, and of course the famous sunsets at Mallory Square. Experiencing the incredible sights, music, and way of life of this paradise will long be a part of my life’s list of “I’m glad I did that.” Casa Blanca 1888 provides a luxurious relaxing escape, close to all that Key West has to offer!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I recently did a girls getaway in paradise, also known as Casa Blanca. The home was full of fantastic keys art, centrally located so that a car is not necessary, and comfortable enough to feel like a home away from home. This home was set up for people of all ages with as many needs. Bedrooms and bathrooms both up and down stairs and privacy a plenty. The house was clean and provided for all my personal needs as well as daily fun needs. The lush tropical feel of the gardens just added to that feel that you were in paradise. I was able to travel the entire Key West on a bike provided by the owners and found great beaches, stores to shop and fantastic museums and art and history . I totally enjoyed visiting with the " locals" as they too knew of Casa Blanca and made me welcome to their keys lives and introduced me to other local Key residents to talk and spend time with. I encourage you to see Mallory Square at sunset, the Pelican Poop(don't forget to tour the garden) and the Cafe vegetarian restaurant. These were my favorites. If time allows you must also tour the Dry Tortugas on the ferry.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I had the preasure of staying in the White Street House for 21/2 months in 2008. Once I called this home I never wanted to leave. Every detail the owner has addressed, from the furnishings, linens and the electronics. The very private back yard and the pool is one of the largest in Key West. Great off street parking for two or more cars is invaluable in Old Town. I also loved the location close to Duval St, restaurants, grocery, shopping, tennis courts, gym and beach. A beautiful property and a great owner to rent from.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
