We LOVED our stay at in this condo! My only regret is that it was only available for 4 nights! We arrived early - before Sonia's sister in law (Millie) had the condo ready, but she invited us in to change and drop off our bags. She showed us around and upon hearing that we weren't renting a car during our stay, called a family member who offers very affordable private and group tours. I spoke on the phone with Ismael, who grew up in the area, and he suggested some points of interest that we should definitely see. Right away we were feeling welcome and cared for! The condo is beautiful, comfortable and well stocked. (although we did run out of toilet paper, haha!) The internet access is easy and FAST. I had reservations about being on the 16th floor, worried that we would spend half our vacation waiting for the elevator, but I could be off the beach and in the condo in just a couple of minutes. And this despite the fact that you need three keys to get there! The property is very secure and everyone is very friendly. Even outside of Marbella I never felt the least bit unsafe. We found a great local diner that serves awesome breakfast wraps (Pui Bello) and the BEST restaurant for native food - Mia Casita. Do not leave without trying their MOFONGOS. YUM!!! The location of the condo is perfect- everything you need is an easy walk, and if you want to go furthur, cabs are easy to find, there is a bus stop out front, and a car rental company across the street. Sonia contacted us early in our stay to make sure we were happy, and made us feel very special. We were greeted with all the fixings for frozen pina colodas when we arrived which were much appreciated! You won't find service like that in any fancy hotel, that's for sure! We spent a day in Old San Juan, shopping, dining and exploring the spanish forts, and we hired Ismael for a day to take us to the El Yunque National Forest (beautiful) and Luquilla Beach (also beautiful!). Back at the condo we swam in the gorgeous pool and spent hours on the beach.There are sand chairs available in the condo, but you can rent a chaise lounge right outside the door for only $4.00 a day! There are 3 beach bars nearby which we stopped at for snacks and drinks as we strolled. We hope to use the awesome BBQ picnic area on our next trip. This was our first experience renting a condo as opposed to a hotel room - and I doubt we will ever spend a vacation in a hotel again! It was an awesome experience! Thank you Sonia and Ricky!

I have rented through Home Away and VRBO on several occasions and beyond doubt, this place was the most fastidiously clean. The building has recently replaced the three passenger elevators (the fourth is freight) and the pool area has new chairs and tables. The local rep who greeted me upon arrival (a family member of the owners) and the owners (via email and phone) were consistently friendly and helpful. The apt is very comfortable. The view from the porch is perfection.

Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful place to stay! The condo looks exactly like the pictures listed, is steps from the beach, close to Old San Juan and within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Sonia and Felix were so helpful, providing great recommendations and making us feel so welcome, even leaving ingredients to make piña coladas upon our arrival. Can't wait to come back!

My stay at property 390279 was amazing! The other reviews were spot on. The description and photos of the property were perfect. This place is right on the beach! The photo of the view from the balcony was one of the reasons I chose this place ... and that photo is spot on! The condo building area is beyond secure. We had no problems at all. The condo is located close to alot of amazing activities, yet far enough down the beach that the crowds aren't overwhelming. The property owners were amazing to work with. Beyond responsive and helpful. They even called to check in a couple times while we were there. The condo was stocked with everything you'd need to enjoy a week in paradise. They even had beers and pina colladas waiting for us when we arrived. These people are definitely the people to rent from. They pay attention to details and take care of their property. I would more than recommend this property - I'd go back in a heart beat! If you go, be sure to check out the El San Juan hotel and casino. A short four block walk from the condo. It's the place to be. We also rented a car one day to hike in the rain forest and kayak in the bio bays ... a must! Also be sure to go in to Old San Juan for the nightlife and to explore the forts. So much to do in Puerto Rico and this condo is in a great location to give you access to all of them. If you just want to hang at the beach, there are plenty of activities to do right outside the condo door (massages on the beach, windsurfing, jetskis, etc.).

We were blown away with the spectacular view of the beach and ocean from the balcony. It made watching the boats and ships at night hypnotic. The condo was uncluttered and well laid out. The bed was perfect for us, not too hard or soft. We were happy to see that the condiments for food preperation bought by pervious renters were left and not taken by the cleaning ladies. The cable TV had the normal mainland channels...all in all this was a wonderful experience and we will not hesitate staying here again. Our only wish would be better beach chairs.

This condo is perfect for a weekend getaway! It is located within walking distance of great restaurants and nightlife spots. The owners are very responsive to emails and keep the place very well maintained. Highly recommended!

Condo was exactly as pictured. Very, very clean. Kitchen was well stocked - so much so that we were able to cook full dinners. The beach is long with a gentle surf in both directions and is cleaned daily. Wonderful to walk on the beach in the early morning and again at sunset. Security was appreciated and the reserved underground parking space made this rental move to the top of our list as we did have a rental car for touring the island. Walgreens across the street was used far more than we expected. Would absolutely return and would recommend to others. Sonia was always available for questions. The easiest vacation we have taken in a long time and Puerto Rico was welcoming.

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I just returned from my trip and I had a wonderful time. The condo is so comfortable and well stocked. The condo's location is perfect walking distance to restaurants, walgreens and the bus stops is steps outside. The best part was enjoying a meal or coffee on the balcony. I have never taken a vacation to any island and not need air conditioning. The ocean breeze coupled with the ceiling fan was awesome. The best part was listening to the sound of the waves as you fall asleep. Thanks Sonia!

Fantastic vacation destination

We have stayed in many VRBO rentals, and this one did not disappoint! The owner, Sonia, made sure all arrangements were made,kept in touch by phone and e-mail regularly and her sister-in-law greeted us at the condo to show us everything.Everything was fabulous, from the actual condo amenities including the constant ocean breeze through the windows,to the available sightseeing options nearby. We ate at numerous restaurants up and down Isla Verde Ave., toured Old San Juan by foot and the free shuttle, did the Kayak/Rainforest tour,(Yokahu kayaks), and of course enjoyed the beach. The condo had everything we needed,enjoyed the "welcome" refreshments, even a cooler and chairs, plenty of towels, and few condiments for cooking. Had no problem with power or water. Only con would be the key situation, having to unlock doors and gates, but we felt very safe anytime day or night, even on the local bus to OSJ, which we rode 3 different times. ($.75-adult, $.35-senior)Last bus leaves OSJ about 8:30 p.m.It saved us some money since taxis run about $20. one way there.Rush hours are very crowded on bus. Check out Bacardi, grab a taxi after you get off ferry.Don't walk there, too far! Check out Espana Bakery, turn right outside condo ,go to 2nd walkover sidewalk, 1 block in front of you. Great pastries.This was our first visit to PR and hopefully we'll be back and rent a car to see the rest of the island.Thanks again Sonia, Ricky, and Millie.Gracias!

Perfect First Anniversary & 30th Birthday Trip

There are so many good things to say about Sonia & Ricky's condo on Isla Verde beach! The location is excellent, with a prime spot on the beach - there are chairs and umbrellas for rent right outside, $4/day for chair and $10/day for umbrella. If you don't want to rent chairs or aren't a sun-bather, the condo has the fold-up camping chairs to take with you, which along with the cooler, were helpful to take to the beach for hours. The beach was beautiful, and in my opinion, the best in the city. The security at the condo complex was great - it was SO secure, that going outside to the beach was difficult at first with all the keys and gates, but once we got used to it, the process was smooth. The whole place is gated and you must have keys to enter at any time of day or night. There is also an on-site security guard - they were all very friendly, and helpful when we needed a cab. I'd recommend renting a car if you're a "crazy" driver and know what you're getting yourself in to - traffic in PR does not behave how it does in ANY continental US state or major city. Cabs to Old S.J. are about $19 each way, to Condado it's about $15 each way, and to the airport it's about $15 (depending on how many bags). Supposedly, there are "zones" and posted rates for those zones, but ask before you get in a cab. They'll charge you more if it's at night or right when you get in to town from the airport, since they assume you don't know the zones. We rented a car because of this and to get further out of town - Fajardo, etc. If you want to do a bio-bay tour, make your reservations BEFORE YOU LEAVE on your trip or try online if you are already in PR. The wireless internet was awesome to have in the condo as well, since our Verizon phones had virtually no service anywhere else (but businesses with wireless). Gosh, what else?!? The whole trip was amazing - we loved walking the beach to El Alambique and the bars and restaurants down there. The sports bar on the same deck as El Alambique had an awesome CocoLoco drink - in a real coconut and strong, for less than $8. Good deal on a huge pizza and 1.5 ltr of Coke at Pizza City across the street from Marabella Oeste at night too! Nice to have a kitchen and laundry facilities, but we decided we were lazy - ate most meals out (were able to take leftovers back to condo) and took our laundry down the street for $1.50/pound. Perfect view and awesome balcony. Nothing bad - we'll be back ASAP! Thanks S&R!

This condo looks as good as the photos suggest. Beautiful views from the balcony and the bedroom windows. The beach below is really lovely, and from the condo you can hear the waves breaking. So relaxing. Very comfy bed. The location can't be beat, walking distance to many nice restaurants and to some very nice hotels (restaurants, casinos). We especially liked El Playita--great for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and such a nice walk up the beach to get there. Also really liked Platos (coconut sangria is so good!) and Metropol (go very hungry--huge portions and helpful service!). Felt really safe in this condo--really good security. We would definitely return and stay here. Sonia kept in touch and we appreciated the litle extra attention she gives. We highly recommend staying here--you won't be sorry! Definitely go into Old San Juan, and El Yunque rain forest. We found the people we met to be so friendly. What a wonderful vacation! Thanks, Sonia!

Great beachfront condo and wonderful owners

The owner was wonderful to work with. Excellent communication leading up to the rental. We felt very confident working with them. When we arrived, the security guad had been told of our arrival and let us in the front door. There was a lock box on the condo and we were able to let ourselves in. The condo was great. It's identical to the pictures listed. The place was very clean and well maintained. The owners really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were treated with a welcome book including local places to eat and attractions, some local snacks and a congratulatory bottle of champagne chililng in the fridge (it was our honeymoon). The view from the balcony is breathtaking. It was very convenient to be able to spend the day on the beach but go up to our condo for lunch or a break anytime we wanted. The location of the condo is great. There is a rental car company across the streeet. There was a supermarket within walking distance and a CVS across the street. As well there are many restaurants along Isla Verde Ave. There is also a bus stop directly in front of the condo that takes you to Old San Juan. Great place, would highly recommend!

Ideal Location on Isla Verde

Ideal location on Isla Verde's beautiful beach. Convenient location - five minutes from airport, close to restaurants, grocery shopping, and other amenities. Sonia's hospitality and professionalism made planning the trip easy and our stay comfortable. The parking arrangements at Marbella Del Caribe as well as the beautiful swimming pool and the other amenities added to the quality of our stay in Sonia'a condo. The condo was clean, in good repair, and updated. We enjoyed several dinners at The Palm at El San Juan, Cafe LaPlage at the nearby Beach House Hotel, and the Water Club Hotel's rooftop restaurant - all are within walking distance from Sonia's condo. The views from the condo were as magnificent as the pictures in the website indicate. We hope to visit again someday.

Perfect, Perfect Condo!

First, I would like to thank Sonia and Ricky for the rental of their home. As soon as you open the door you see this condo’s amazing ocean view. The living room is a good size. The table and chairs are great for entertaining and dinner. The balcony has the perfect view of the ocean. The kitchen is very well furnished with everything you need. The new bathroom has a very large shower and the water jets are perfect for a great massage. One of the very best things to enjoy is the bedroom. You will drift off to sleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. The trip would not have been a success if it weren’t for the kindness and thoughtfulness of Sonia. Sonia kept in touch with us and gave great suggestions for places to visit and dine. Everything you need is within close walking distance to the condo. Walgreens is across the street as are many fast food and fine dining restaurants. The casino is a five minute walk. Bus rides are 35 cents. The bus stop is located directly in front of the condo. The pool and beach are wonderful and filled with many friendly people. This was our best, favorite and most relaxing vacation by far! Magnificent Condo

I have to mention how much Sonia cared about making sure that we had the perfect vacation in San Juan. She constantly kept in touch with us, responded to our questions and emails quickly, and sent us or gave us information about things to do. Even the person at the car rental agency knew that we were coming, because Sonia contacted them. The condo was perfect for us: beautiful view, nice and clean rooms, wireless internet, and fully equipped kitchen. There also were 2 beach chairs and a cooler which we took with us every day. Having coffee in the morning with that view was priceless. The apartment is very safe with gates and security personnel. There are many restaurants that are walking distance as well as a 24-hour Walgreens across the building. There are two hotels (Intercontinental and El San Juan Resort) with bars, restaurants, and casinos that are also walking distance. We had a rental car so the underground parking was a big plus for us. FYI, taxi rides to Old San Juan are about $20. Also, we were refunded our security deposit the day after leaving the apartment. We will definitely stay at this condo next time we travel to San Juan.

A perfect vacation!

I am a Puerto Rico native and I have to say, I have never enjoyed the isla verde area so much as we did in our recent vacation. My husband and I decided to take a Christmas vacation with our 4 month old baby and this apartment was perfect for us. The place is spacious, charming, clean and conveniently located in front of the beach. The views from both the balcony/living room and bedroom are breathtaking. The ocean breeze that enters the apartment is so relaxing and the sound of the waves is perfect for an afternoon nap :) The apartment is equipped with everything you need (it even have beach chairs!) and the kitchen has everything needed for cooking. There is also a wide selection of restaurants nearby as well as bars. Another very nice thing of renting this apartment is the special attention renters get from the owners. The owner called me periodically to make sure everything was fine and seemed very pleased to know we were having such a good time. Overall, we had an EXCELLENT experience and have nothing but good things to say about staying here. We will definitely be renting this apartment again!

We'd like to thank Sonia for her outstanding way of conducting her business. She gets an A+++ in communicating and keeping us informed step by step from the first interaction we had. Her place , Awesome . If we had to do it all over again, WITHOUT any doubts or hesitation will call upon her place first. The location is perfect, safe building, The Apartment clean , nicely decorated and in all honest true, you wont not want to leave. A pleasant experience worth repeating and HIGHLY recommended. Thanks Sonia for making sure all was in place and for making sure all throughout our stay that we we comfortable , al bases covered and overall happy. I cant wait to go back! 1st trip to Puerto Rico... it's a good thing our host was Sonia! From responding to our condo questions to going the extra mile to accommodate our special request, she was quite attentive, very helpful, always willing to lend a hand, not just for the accommodations but also for sightseeing and just plain getting around! Kind of like a sister you haven't seen in years and she wants to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. Thanks, Sis! And what a stay! In seeking accommodations we'd been searching for a place that had a balcony overlooking the beach, with a kitchen etc, for a reasonable price. We were touring during the day, so it was mainly for the view and a place to make breakfast and to store food/drink. Who knew finding that might be difficult! Some places have all that but are actually across the street from the beach or an alley with a partial view. Be careful & ask if they're on the beach. This is ON the beach! It's also away from the noise and the more congested hotel area found near ESJ and the Intercontinental, which you can see from the condo and an easy walk if you venture to the casino. I was concerned that on the google map the condo looks far from hotel nightlife etc. Not so! Right down the street, as is grocery, dining, and Walgreens across st. Stay here to gain some separation from the bustle, stay at ESJ if you like the crowds. Be aware that this condo is great for a couple sharing a bed and 1 other person; there's a queen bed and futon (same view from Lv rm & BR). Not great if 3 beds are needed. Wifi worked great and emailing while enjoying the vista was a terrific bonus. We cooked brkfst/lunch, and the kitchen prep area while tight, has all that's needed, even salt/pepper. Our beach was wonderful - very few people since the condos have more residents than tourists and not around much. So we had our pick of space, even some palm tree shade, while the hotel crowd was visible down the beach 1/4 mi. where the jet skis and other adventure rentals are. So why 4 instead of 5 stars? No reflection on the condo itself, but the building security. Multiple keys, multi-locks, many gates - probably for good reason, but not much fun. Even got stuck in the parking garage when the gate wouldn't open (it's an automatic gate but didn't like my car). Other buildings have similar security measures so it's not just here. Have fun at the Bio Bay and Old San Juan - must-sees while you're there. Just ask Sonia - she'll hook you up!

I take with humor your comment about the many gates and garage exit - if there is one thing, for sure you can have peace of mind that you're staying in a very secure building! Also finding parking space in busy Isla Verde can be quite a challenge and having your own assigned secured parking (that also fits 2 cars to accommodate visiting guests) under the building is quite a precious commodity to have (I'm sorry that the exit gate didn't always like your car - can be tricky sometimes.. but it always works..). Wow, what can we say negative, absolutely nothing! The condo was amazing and working with Sobia was so wonderful, she was in contact with us through phone, email and text. We did not have any issues with the condo. It's beautiful, location was excellent, nightlife, beach and restaurant were wonderful. After traveling from Alaska on 17 hour flight and knowing that we only had a 5 minute drive from the airport was great. They had a welcome booklet in the condo that gave directions from restaurant, grocery store to activities to do while in PR. It was our fist time in PR as well as renting from an independent renter. She made us feel very comfortable booking with us. It was way better than a hotel, you had everything you needed right there without the extra costs of resort fees. Private enterence to the beach, very secure building with security 24/7. Clean pool, keep in mind it is not open on Mondays however the beach is right there. THe condo had everything, from beach chairs, to potsandpans, towels and a welcome pina cola set up and PR coffee, which we enjoyed;-) Staying here has made us so happy that we are excited to rent again from Sonia for our next trip which hopefully will be sooner than later. I could go on and on because I was just so happy, falling alseep with the ocean sounds and waking up with the ocean. wow you won't go wrong renting here. Thank-You!!!

I couldn't be more pleased to write the first review for this amazing condo! Despite the gorgeous pictures, my husband and I were a bit reluctant to stay at this rental because there were no reviews and we were skeptical about whether the pictures/description were accurate. The owner, Sonia, was happy to speak with us and explained that the lack of reviews were because they were new to the Home Away site. Sonia was so helpful and sweet on the phone that we decided to take a chance that it was good as it sounded. From the moment we arrived and felt the amazing crosswinds in the doorway and saw the beautiful view, we knew we made the right choice! Sonia was extremely responsive throughout the trip planning and offered suggestions about things to do/places to eat. She was an awesome hostess, surprising us with sweet and thoughtful welcome gifts (Puerto Rican coffee, Pina Coloda fixings, etc) The condo was immaculate, the water pressure was great, and the bed was very comfortable. We even spent a night or two on the futon with the sliding glass doors open so we could feel the ocean breeze and hear the waves. We woke up at 6AM most mornings as the sun rose (we went back to sleep of course) and watched the sun set from the balcony with a cocktail most evenings. The location was perfect- we walked to dinner, to the casinos, to the grocery store and of course- the beach. There is no real need to rent a car, but we wanted to do some adventurous activities so we rented a car for two days to travel to El Yunque and the Biobay tour (both are must-do's if you are interested in more than just the beach) The condo has beach chairs and a cooler, perfect for packing a picnic lunch. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and I look forward to returning soon! I already told my parents that they need to stay here too!
