  We have stayed in this unit several times and we love it. Since it's at the end of the Pelican complex, the unit is very private. The view from the master bedroom and the deck is spectacular place for your coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. And the whole unit is filled with sunshine and the pristine beach calls for long walks. The photos can't completely express the comfort and peacefulness of this retreat.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

  Wow! I love this place. Great open floor plan gives you lots of light. You feel as though you are sitting outside on the dunes when you are in the living room. The view of the ocean is from the upstairs master bedroom. Such a beautiful view to wake up to in the morning, with the sounds of the waves muffled in the distance. We really enjoyed having a glass of wine out on the upstairs deck (which sits off of the master bedroom..as depicted in the VRBO picture) while we watched the sunset every evening of our stay. The beds are extra comfortable. You are within throwing distance of the beach and yet there is privacy from people walking on the beach. We have stayed in P-7 multiple times and have enjoyed every single visit! Fall and Winter are especially good times to visit as there is less coastal fog!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  My husband & I have stayed in this comfortable condo several times--both with another couple or family members. The kitchen is well-equipped and open to the living room, allowing chefs to prepare wonderful, relaxed meals while remaining completely engaged with others. This condo is great for families with young children as there is a dune between the ocean and condo and a side area with lots of sand for digging. This dune also prevents an oceanview from the ground floor, but two-story windows bring in great light and one never doubts you're by the sea. The bedrooms are upstairs and there's a small deck off the master for sunning or watching the sunset. One caution: Realize that the floor plan is very open and complete privacy is not really available. That said, go with great friends and family members and you'll have a terrific time together. Or, go as a couple for a romantic get-away; or by yourself, to rest, renew and enjoy the calm and beauty of lovely accommodations in an unbeatable setting. Be sure to walk on the beach in the morning & again in the evening. It's gorgeous! Pajaro Dunes' proximity to Monterey (Monterey Bay Aquarium!) and other coastal communities makes for easy access to both sightseeing and great restaurants. Tip: We always pick up a box of wood on our way in so we can enjoy fires in the pretty fireplace every evening.

  The rental needs updating throughout. The homeowners provided very minimal supplies for the home. It would have been nice to have beach chairs, beach towels, etc. The kitchen offered just the basics (no dish cloths for cleaning counters), old coffee maker. The kitchen needed updating. Counters were stained & needed additional cleaning throughout. Bathrooms very outdated also (very low shower heads). Some outlets did not work. Not any privacy in bedrooms as the master room is a loft and not a room. The second bedroom did not have a full door to provide privacy (it was an accordian type door, that did not fully close). We were told dogs were not allowed in the complex, but yet there were a number of dogs both in the complex and on the beach. We were told no parties in the rentals and there was a loud party next door to us until after midnight. We had to call security to quiet down the neighbors. These same neighbors had a a lot of guests over who took over the parking spaces and we had to park out a ways from our rental. The only view was from the master bedroom and it was only partial. We would not recommend this property to anyone.

  Owner response: We were very sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience at Pajaro Dunes. The resort is known for its serenity—beautiful sunsets, open beaches, and an abundance of shorebirds. On occasion, disrespectful travelers rent houses or condos and party without regard for other guests. The resort has a strict noise/party ordinance and a security system available to respond to any complaints. Unfortunately, you visited Pajaro Dunes at a time when there were renters who disregarded this ordinance. As for dogs, the resort community does not allow renters to bring their pets. However, condo owners are allowed to have dogs -- so that is probably what you saw. My apologies if you felt misled on this topic, however it is true that renters cannot have pets in the units. Dogs are allowed on lease on the beach. In all the years we have had visitors to our condo, we have never encountered complaints about the lack of privacy or lack of amenities in the condo. However, we have recently decided to add a door to the second bedroom -- a project we will be working on this Fall. We do provide beach towels, however they unfortunately occasionally go home with renters. We will be sure to stock up for future renters, as well as consider adding beach chairs as an added amenity. We will also address your comments about kitchen cleaning and supplies with housekeeping. We appreciate hearing from our guests about what will make their vacation experience more pleasurable.
