We had a great MLK weekend at the house. The place was very clean when we arrived. It is clear that the owner takes pride in the house and doesn't rent it out often. The location is convenient to town, and about 20 min to Stowe Mountain Resort. It was very windy on one of the days and the power actually was out for a few hours. We were able to contact the owner by phone and he was extremely responsive by calling the power company and giving us an estimate of when the power would be restored. Overall, the house is as advertised, which is all you can ask for when renting a place. The funishings for a baby were extremely helpful, so consider this place if you are traveling with a young child. The wood stove provided a comfortable warmth to the living room. The one drawback to the house is the way the beds are arranged in the different rooms. There are two huge bedrooms upstairs, one with a full bed and a crib and the other with a full and two twins. The third bedroom is downstairs and it has a futon. So if you are traveling with a few couples, just think ahead about the sleeping arrangements.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hey Mike, We appreciate the great review and are happy that you guys enjoyed our house. Thanks for leaving the house exceptionally clean. You're welcome back any time. Best, Jon & Nicole Vinet

Vacations should be easy -- and in all aspects, these owners and their house "get it." There was three feet of snow on the ground, but somehow, none on the steps going up to the house. There was a crib waiting for our baby, toys and books even. There was the wood stove, the chef's knife that was actually sharp, the long view of a snow-laden forest, the pasture across the way for sledding. There were the two massive bedrooms (one with three beds in it) that housed me, my wife and our one-year-old and another couple with their three year-old. It was quiet at the house, good for long dinners with candles, but it was also five minutes from the town of Stowe and less than fifteen minutes to skiing at Trapp Family Lodge -- close enough to come back for lunch and a nap before the afternoon session there. I saw other places listed for twice the price in the area -- why bother with them? If you're coming to Stowe with 1-6 people, this is where you should go. (Unless we're coming back then, in which case, please keep the rate the same for us!)Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hey Tim, Thanks so much for your review! Everything you mentioned about our property is what we as a family love about it! We feel so fortunate to have that home for our weekend retreats! You guys left the house practically spotless - thank you for leaving the house so clean. You're welcome back any time! Best, Jon & Nicole Vinet

Had a short stay with my family for a ski vacation. Found the location to be superb, close to the town, skiing, large supermarket nearby etc... House was very clean, charming, warm and comfortable and it felt like home from home. Great amenities, comfy beds, plenty of room for seven of us. Would most certainly look to book again for a ski (or possibly a summer) rental.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

My husband and I frequently vacation in Vermont and often in the Stowe area. Out of the many hotels, condos and rentals where we've stayed, this warm and comfortable home is our favorite. We travel to Vermont to get away from the noise and get back to nature. This getaway's location is perfect for summer trips to nearby hikes like Stowe Pinnacle and winter adventures snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on the bike path (via car). We've found it to be a great base camp where we can prepare entire meals (grocery store is three minute drive away) and relax by the stove after running around in the woods. The house has always been spotless and its amenties include everything you need, but nothing extraneous. Beds are very comfortable - always necessary when on vacation! The owners clearly take pride in their home and are easy to reach and accomodating. We have already made arrangements to stay here again this winter and felt remiss not to share our prior experiences on VRBO. One note: if you decide to stay here, the driveway is a little funky (ask the owner). Photos and listing are very accurate, layout is simple and welcoming. We've stayed here twice now and would absolutely recommend it to a friend.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hey Brielly, Thanks for the review of our house in Vermont. I'm glad that you and Jonathan enjoyed your time up there! You're welcome back any time! We're working on changing the configuration of our driveway. We'll keep you posted on that! Cheers, Jon & Nicole Vinet

Our two night stay at this property was excellent. It is centrally located just outside of Stowe, but convenient to everything. The wedding venue was located 3 miles away and was accessible by main road and scenic dirt road. We had two couples, one with teenage children and an older Uncle staying with us. The house was very comfortable with open design and a great cut away view off the back deck. The owner was very helpful and the place was spotless. I would definately recommend this place as a rental to a friend or relative. There are many local activities including Mnt. Mansfield Resort, tons of hiking, great restaurants and easy access to the Burlington International Airport.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

I have had the opportunity of staying in this home two times now. Once in the Winter and once recently in the Fall. The home is wonderful. It has absolutely everything you need for a peaceful vacation! The master bedroom was very comfortable, couches were great for relaxing / watching a movie, there was plenty of closet and living space, and the deck was great. I was a little concerned about having cell phone reception and high speed internet but they both worked perfectly! The home is so peaceful and quiet. This house is set back off of the road so it is super private. What we liked the most is that it is a short drive to Downtown Stowe and the Stowe Mountain Resort. In the two times we have rented we have been able to go skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, hiking and shopping just to name a few. Ben & Jerry's corporate headquarters is also just a short drive away! Lastly, the owners were very easy to deal with and were very responsive. We highly recommend this rental and hope to return again this winter.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We are a family of 3 and have enjoyed Stowe for years. We are an active young family enjoying skiing, mountain-biking, hiking and water sports. We keep our home clean and comfortable and prefer renters with profiles similar to ourselves. We hope you enjoy Stowe and our home as much as we do!
Why the Owner Chose Stowe:
My grandfather built a home in Stowe back in 1960. Our family has been skiing Stowe for years and as our own family grew we wanted to insure that we had a place to continue enjoying Stowe. We bought the property from a friend who moved to Boston for a new job opportunity.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our home is clean, quiet, private, comfortable and very energy efficient. The landscape around the house is rugged with really nice views and terrain features. Outdoor activities and the Stowe village are just minutes away.... Also on the property is a thrilling sledding run - to use at your own risk!
