My family and my sister's family spent a wonderful week here in the middle of August. The house is in a beautiful location backing up onto the Primehook National Wildlife Reserve and steps from the beach. Even when all eight of us overlapped for a couple of days we had plenty of space and lots to do. We spent time sunning on the beach - which was practically empty! - , went fishing, walked our dog, rode the bikes provided, and even took a day trip to Ocean City MD. We cooked our own meals almost every night as well as enormous breakfasts every morning while looking out at the birds and the bunnies in the backyard. And watching the sunset each evening was a special treat. Even on our one rainy day we found plenty to do from watching one of the dvds the owners provided to reading a good book from the house collection of novels. The property is as described on the website and the owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. A very special place!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

My family came for the first time to Primehook Beach. We did not know what to expect even though we have been to the Delaware beach before. What a wonderful surprise! This house was wonderful! What a jewel on the beach. The house was clean, well decorated, location to the beach was great, and the owners have been a pleasure to work with. The loft bedroom was awesome, but the rooftop deck was the most wonderful place to see the most amazing stars and enjoy a fine glass of wine from the highest point around. This home has so much room, and the back deck allows you to view the Wildlife Refuge and the most gorgeous sunsets. We got the chance to have our Lab at the beach for the first time. He may take about a week to recover from the great time on the beach. The beach was very private and at times we were the only people on the beach. If you enjoy private beaches, a clean and beautiful home, friendly neighbors, beautiful sunsets, lots of wildlife, calm bay waters, go to this home on Primehook. Hope we come back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great week at Ron's and Anne's home on Primehook Beach. Our cats, Unique and Tiger were comfortable. Ron and Anne were very responsive to my questions and concerns. Their home is beautiful, clean and spacious. Their listing was an accurate depiction of their home. The beach was private and very accessible. The neighbors were friendly. We visited the Jungle Jim waterpark, Shell We Golf- minigolf and 19 hole Golf park. We visited historic Lewes Beach and private Broadview Beach. We attempted to go fishing but we loved the relaxful mornings by the beach. We will definitely recommend their home to our friends. Thank you again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had an amazing week at this Prime Hook Beach house from the amazing views to the great space and amenities. We spent lots of time on what felt like a private beach with the kids and made some short travels to The Rehobeth Boardwalk, Cape Henelope, and the girls loved being so close to the outlets. The kids took a pirate tour from historic Lewes and we spent a day on the Rehobeth Beaches so my oldest son could ride the waves. The sunrises over the ocean were amazing and the sunsets where breathtaking over the Prime Hook Wildlife Reserve. The house was the perfect size for our family and we can't wait to take our family back again in years to come. Thanks for the hospitality and for being available if we had any issues/questions. Thanks for sharing your great home and the amazing community at Prime Hook Beach.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great time at Ron and Anne's home. The beach was so close......there were lazy days in the water and fires on the beach at night. It was our first extended family vacation in years and we had a fabulous time. The house is large enough to spread out and yet we spent so much time together. We cooked lots of meals and enjoyed the spectacular sunsets on the deck. Watched all the birds, crabs, heron etc. One morning a deer came up in the back yard. Porpoises or dolphins were spotted on a long walk down the beach. Roof top deck views are awesome. We went into Lewes and really enjoyed the town and a great dinner at The Wharf. Our last night there we had take-out from the Miltonian......it lived up to it's reputation! Family dog had a great time on the beach as well. Didn't want to go in the water.....haha, but early morning and night walks were so nice. Ron and Anne were excellent to deal with concerning their home. We would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone. Hope we can return again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a family reunion for two weeks at this fabulous, secluded location. There was plenty of room for the cousins (ages 2,4,4,6 and 9) to play inside the house, and outside of the house in the backyard. Morning bike rides along the Primehook Wildlife Refuge are peaceful and stunning. Sleepy days spent building sand castles or counting horseshoe crabs entertained the kids for the entire stay. The ocean isn't too rough since it's technically the Delaware Bay, which is also good for kids. But the highlight is absolutely the sunset views from the roofdeck. It's the best view in all of Primehook! It's also easy to get to the Jungle Jim Waterpark and downtown shopping and restaurants in Rehoboth Beach. Owners are eager to please and want to make sure your stay is perfect!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

What a great location if you are into wildlife! Surrounded by Purple Martin's and loved it. The deck on the roof is amazing - we felt like the birds were trying to see how close they could get. We were there during prime time horseshoe crab spawning so the beach and the water were full of them. Our teenage granddaughters turned into "marine biologists" overnight and became fascinated with them and how important they are! We went out looking for sea glass every day and contrary to what a neighbor had warned, found an amazing amount, along with some beautiful shells. The house is perfect for spreading out and a game of fooseball brought back old memories! And just a short drive to the Dogfish Head Brewery and Delaware's only winery...what more could you ask for!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a great house! Very spacious, We loved the open floorplan of the great room. The bedrooms were all nice and the house was very clean. Kitchen is well stocked. Great views of the bay and Primehook Nature Preserve. Owner is great to work with and answers all questions promptly. Nice place to go if you are looking for a quiet alternative to the crowded beach scene. Cape Henlopen State Park is nearby as well as Lewes and Rehobeth Beach. We hope to return soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I had a great time! The house was beautiful as was the area. We loved the views of the water from all sections of the house. The kids had a great time exploring the beach! It was very peaceful and quiet. The house was close enough to Rehobeth for some outlet shopping but far enough away from the crowds:). We dined at the Miltonian Resturant and the food was excellent as the owners had suggested. Ron and Anne were great to work with and answered any questions we had promptly. We would love to stay again in the future!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I spent the weekend at this property and really enjoyed it. They just added a deck off the back on the first floor. There is a great view of the wildlife refuge from the deck. We brought our dog and he enjoyed hanging out on the deck also. The dog loved running on the beach. It is a really short walk to the beach which was nice. The owner was prompt in answering any questions we had. We ordered takeout from the Miltonian as recommended by the owners and it was great. The neighbors always gave a wave or a hello when we walked past. Nice area, nice house, nice vacation! We would definitely stay again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Great house with beautiful views on each level. I stayed on the top level and woke each morning looking at the bay from my comfy bed - gorgeous! Short, easy walk to the uncrowded beach. Spent our one rainy day playing games at the dining room table in the large great room on the 2nd level and watching the whitecaps on the bay. The room is bright, lots of windows, comfy sofa for movie night. The kitchen is well equipped and there's a big Food Lion nearby, also Redbox and Blockbuster machines. We bought fresh scallops from the Lewes Fishhouse and made a delish meal 1 night. Which brings me to Lewes - a lovely town with lots of cute shops, a coffee house with yummy pastries, several art galleries and a good variety of restaurants - less than 30 minutes away. Attended a great church on Sunday morning, Eagle's Nest Community Church. This was my first trip to a Delaware beach and I loved it. Whether you want a quiet vacation or sightseeing; cooking in or eating out; watching wildlife or reading a book on the beach - you can do any or all of it here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My sister and I had such a lovely time at Ron and Anne's place at Primehook Beach. The house was comfortable and huge and would easily accomodate a large family or two, but we enjoyed having the run of the place by ourselves. We watched for birds (saw snow geese and a great blue heron) and shopped till we dropped. Ron was very prompt in answering any questions, and was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was the perfect house and location for our family get together week-end. Prime Hook Beach is great for getting away from it all and just enjoying the company that you are with. The house is wonderul, we especially loved the cozy front porch even in the month of February. The house is large enough that our family(9 guests)was able to spread out and there was plenty of sleeping room for all. The views from the decks are spectacular! We will never forget the sounds of snow geese and owls, or watching the sunrise and sunset over water. And the starry sky is breathless! If you need to actually get away from all this peace and quiet there is much to do just a few miles away. The owners were wonderful to deal with! We hope to be back to Prime Hook Beach again someday and hope that this house will still be available. Highly recommend it!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We spent a weekend at Anne and Ron's beach house in January. Sunset over the waters of the Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge was spectacular. We were lucky enough to be able to take a relaxing walk on the beach in January. Wonderful! The house itself was well-equipped and very comfortable. The second and third levels have a unique wow factor. The nearby town of Milton is quaint while offering access to everything from a car wash to a really nice restaurant , The Miltonian. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet, relaxing stay in a well maintained, nicely decorated home. We definitely hope to go back again sometime soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
