The condo was comfortable, for the most part. The living room furniture upholstery needs to be cleaned or replaced with new cushions or furniture. We were a little disappointed when the satelitte dish service went out at 8:30 p.m. right in the middle of the finale of Dancing With the Stars and X Factor, and still had not come back on by the next morning. Beaches were great for our morning walks. We were a little suprised there wasn't more "night life" on Anastasia Island. We could have driven back to St. Augustine, but that was a good drive, especially if you had a couple drinks. St. Augustine is a beautiful place with lots of history!
Owner response:Our Condo received what we refer to as our annual deep cleaning last month, October 20-25. It included steam cleaning of upholstery. The furniture is less than 5 years old. Our televisions receive their signal via cable not satellite and the performance is the same as cable service for any location. St Augustine Beach is more of a family oriented experience vs that of other beaches with a "strip" atmosphere. There are more "night life" activities in the city, which is 5 miles from the property.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+.
Quiet stay on a beautiful beach, family oriented.

We have visited the ocean and racquet resort for many years and love this area of St Augustine. There is a plethora of shops and eateries to enjoy along with fun activities for the kids. We always choose the ocean/racquet club because it is very quiet and family oriented, no loud parties at night and people wandering the parking lots. The security guards stay at the front gate and do a great job of monitoring traffic. The pools & hot tubs are always clean & the property is well maintained overall. The units are individually owned so you do have a wide variety of furnishings etc. but we have never been displeased with any. The best thing about the condo location is it's less than a mile to a shopping center with a Publix, Starbucks, Coldstone Creamery, great Mexican cuisine and a divine Chocolatier (the name escaped me), but you can not beat the convenience. You also have many seafood restaurants going in the other direction. One of the best kept secrets of St Augustine beach is a small, local restaurant called O'Steens (close to the Alligator Farm, same side of the road, near the antique store). Best fried shrimp I have ever eaten, and they have a great datil pepper based sauce that's for sale. Have fun at the beach!
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Richard, Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time again at your condo in St. Augustine last week. The new flooring is quite nice. We are hoping to come back again next year but it looks like there will be more people in my wife's family coming. We will need another unit if they decide to go. Do you know of any of the units around you that also rent out their unit? I know I can get on the Ocean and Racquet website and look but I thought maybe you might have a recommendation. Thanks again for letting me and my family stay at your place and I hope we will be able to do it again next year.

Richard, We really enjoyed our stay in your home! I wanted to know if you thought you might do the same thing again next May? We had such a nice experience that we would love to do it again or make it a yearly thing. St. Augustine is just such a nice place to go with a family and would love to live there but for now will have to settle for every once in a while! :) Let me know your thoughts on future bookings. Thanks, Jason
