Granada villa description
Casa Anita is a warm and inviting villa, with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful arches and columns that accent the main floor and surround a nice central pool and fountain. It is unique in the heart of Granada within 3 blocks of Central Park with all that it has to offer, such as Dining, Night Life, Shopping and Museums, just to mention a few.
There are two luxurious bedrooms upstairs that have ample space, very comfortable queen size beds, TV's with cable, airconditioning and each have on-suite baths.
Mild temperatures, blue skies spotted with white clouds, the sound of dove and kiskadee, an occasional glimpse of parrots just off the upstairs balcony. The sound of horse hooves on the cobble stone streets below, the aroma of breakfast cooking at one of the local restaurants around the corner....all while enjoying a cup of locally grown coffee. This is just one morning in the real everyday world at Casa Anita.
No trip to Nicaragua is complete without a trip to Granada to experience the warmth and hospitalility of it's people, and culture. It is a relaxed and easy pace where schedules and agendas are almost non-existant. You can leave your watch at home. A horse drawn carriage is just the right pace for taking in all of the historic sites, some of which date back to 1524, when Granada was founded.
Just a few blocks past Central Park and you will find Lake Nicaragua where boat tours are available to explore some of the 365 islands and habitats formed by the Mombacho Volcanic eruption from over 20,000 years ago. Now dormant, Mombacho reserve is mostly covered by a mystical cloud forrest. Tours are available for the adventurous at heart.
The villa comes equiped with Hot water on demand, which means you never run out!

Casa Anita and Granada
Casa Anita and Granada
Casa Anita and Granada were a unique experience. The property is beautiful, spacious and very clean. We received excellent service from the property manager and the maid. Having coffee in the morning while sitting on the balcony and listening to the sounds of the city was quite relaxing. Enjoyed going out on the lake...zip lining....the 2 hour horseback ride was awesome....Favorite restaurant Las Colinas del Sur!!!!

Nice and Comfortable house in the Heart of Town
Nice and Comfortable house in the Heart of Town
Our short stay at Casa Anita was great. The house is comfortable and in the historic district of Granada, which means that it is close to all the town's highlights. This also means you hear quite a bit of traffic pass in front of the house in the early morning, so plan on going to bed early. It's probably better anyway since the mornings are the most productive parts of the day as the heat is less unbearable then. Our family greatly enjoyed the small pool as it offered great relief from the afternoon heat. Thanks for sharing this beautiful house in the city!

My husband and I loved our time at Casa Anita. From the beginning it was a great experience. The staff at GPS were very kind and accommodating and the house was beautiful. It is clear that a lot of time and personal care goes into the upkeep of this home. It is very centrally located with only about a 2 block walk from Central Park and Calzada Street, main strip with a lot of restaurants and shops. I do advice caution walking home at night as the street that Casa Anita is on does get pretty deserted after dark. But during the day, you definitely feel like you are a part of the community. We look forward to visiting Casa Anita again on our next trip to Nicaragua.

Manager response: Tamara, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. We feel that Casa Anita is a pretty special place and take great pride in making sure it is well maintained and comfortable. As with any where you go in this world you should take precautions but we have never experienced any problems in Granada with safety. My 87 year old mother-in-law has walked all over the town and said she always felt safe. We really do hope you come and visit again.
We stayed at Casa Anita for three days whilst we had family visiting us here in Nicaragua. We've lived in Nicaragua now for a number of years and have therefore visited and stayed in Granada on numerous occasions yet we can honestly say that our stay in Casa Anita was the best yet. Anita the owner was extremely helpful and prompt in her replies to our e-mails when we were booking the property. Then when we thought the photographs of the house looked fabulous on the internet we found that it's even better in real life. Johana the cleaner keeps the place absolutely spotless. Everything is fresh, modern and clean. The swimming pool with it's changing colours is an added touch of class and of course much needed to cope with the heat of Granada. It's in a great location, close to the centre but far enough away to be quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. All in all we would highly recommend Casa Anita and we hope to visit again very soon

Enjoyed our Trip
Just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our trip to Nicaragua. We could not have dreamed of such a trip until Mike started describing your casa, the food, the people, etc. Thank you for sharing. All was great. We ate at a different restaurant each meal except for one. Two times at the Artist’s Café for lunch. All meals were wonderful. The pool was such a nice break in the afternoon. Great idea! The last two days the temp was 95. February is really a great time. Thank you again for making this experience possible.

The house is beautiful. The swimming pool is your living room, how awesome is that? Located in the heart of Granada walking distance to everything. Felt very safe. And Johanna, the housekeeper was fantastic. Would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay and be a part of the local community
Wonderful place to stay and be a part of the local community
I just got back from Granada Nicaragua, and had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Casa Anita. The house is in a great area, close to the markets and center of town, on a side street that makes you feel like you are part of the community. The main restaurants are only a 5-10 minute walk away, the outdoor market is around the corner, and the streets are lined with little shops, parks and churches that will keep you busy and wanting to meander and explore. The staff at GPS are wonderful and very accommodating, especially in arranging transportation to / from the airport, and the housekeeper, Johana, was super friendly and assisted in locating the grocery stores, local attractions and spa services. I fell in love with her bubbly personality. Julio, the one who provided the transportation, was very nice and informative, and upon arriving, drove around the town a bit to give points of reference, and walked through the house pointing out the ammenities and showing where all the switches, controls, etc. were. Vanessa, eventhough I didn't meet her, was always pleasant and available via email to answer any questions. When you walk into Casa Anita, you automatically feel at ease and at home. The pool was refreshing, the kitchen well stocked with utensils and appliances, and I found the bedding to be quite comfortable. It was so nice to wake up and make a cup of coffee, sit by the pool or in the upstairs cooridor, and listen to the city wake up. During the day, it was great to stroll the streets, talk to the friendly locals, absorb the culture and return to the house to make a lunch and take a quick dip in the pool. At night, the owners did a great job with the lighting, creating a cozy atmosphere and highlighting the house's details while winding down with the warm breeze and listening to the festivities. Each night something was going on, creating a great ending to a perfect day. In fact, the only things I could find wrong with Casa Anita was 1- I couldn't decide whether to stay in or venture out, and 2- that I had to leave. I am already planning to go back to Granada and stay a little longer this time to take some of the tours, and I hope to be able to stay at Casa Anita again.

Manager response: So happy you enjoyed your stay. Come back soon. Anita
we were three nights guests in this wonderful small house near the center of granada. we felt like home, everything we needed was there, everything worked perfect (TV, AC, Internet) and the rooms are really comfortable and clean. the only small problem was some noise from the street in the masterbedroom, there were some celebrations during our stay because of the end of schoolyear in nicaragua - but it was still a wonderful stay and we will come back for sure!

Manager response: Patrick,Granada is very prone to celebrations and while entertaining if you want to participate they can be loud. I don't believe there is a place in Granada where you would not hear these celebrations. They are fond of fireworks and have a tendency to shoot them frequently during their celebrations. I am very happy you enjoyed your stay and hope you do come back.
Casa Anita was a beautiful villa in a perfect location. GPS did a great job at communicating and taking care of us while we were there. The kitchen was stocked and had all the items needed for doing some home cooking. It would have been nice if the propane had been checked prior to our arrival. We found it empty while trying to prepare a meal at night. The addition of the pool was incredible and we spent a vast majority of our time between 1-5 sitting at the side of the pool cooling off with our toes in the water. The pool remained very cool through out our stay, but was also very refreshing when needed. I would say that the thing we were most disappointed about was the beds. They were both very uncomfortable and could really use replacing. We are not super picky sleepers and had just spent 6 days sleeping in much more uncomfortable spaces. But for the cost and expectancy. Johana our fabulous cleaning lady was great and took great care of us! She was funny and helpful and a real joy to have around taking good care of us. The space was beautiful and well maintained. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay. We will certainly recommend to our traveling friends. Oh - the last thing that would have been great was a name placard above the gate saying Casa Anita. Finding the house on the first night was really hard since there are no numbers and no names etc. Thank you again for letting us stay in your wonderful villa. We hope to come back and visit again.

Manager response: Raina, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa Anita. You were the first person to stay after the pool was installed. Hate to hear that you had issues with the propane but I am sure that the staff at GPS responded quickly to your concern and took care of it. I am also sorry you didn't find the beds to your liking but my husband and I feel that the bed in the master is very comfortable, it is a firm pillow-top, which is what we like. Hope you do come back and stay with us again.
We rented Casa Anita for the month of February 2012. The description and pictures on the website are very accurate. This is a lovely, well-maintained comfortable home ideal for two couples. The house has everything you need for your home away from home. We arrived very late from Managua due to our plane being delayed but the manager had arranged for the housekeeper to wait for us at the house no matter how late we arrived . The manager is the owner of the Euro cafe and speaks English so communication was easy if there were any questions throughout our stay. The house comes with a housekeeper, Argentina, who kept the house tidy and clean during our stay. She was flexible with her work schedule and came at times which were convenient for us. It would be helpful to have some Spanish to communicate with her but we managed to get our messages across with our limited ability and her willingness to try to communicate The house is in a safe neighbourhood, centrally located. It is close to the local market and the grocery store, the Pali, is on the same street, a couple of blocks away. Due to the central location you can expect to hear some of the local sounds throughout the day and night (people, cars, loudspeakers, etc.) but when you are behind the doors Casa Anita is tranquil, spacious and airy and as one of our visiting family members stated, "It was a great hideout". The small central garden with a fountain and opening to the sky above created a peaceful atmosphere where we could relax and hang out in the heat of the day. There is enough space on two levels that you are able to maintain a feeling of privacy when you are home together. This is our second visit to Nicaragua but the first time we have rented a house for a longer stay. We hope to return in the future and would definitely consider renting Casa Anita again.

About: My husband is in Marketing for Long term Care facilities and I am a Registered Nurse and Director of Operations in a National Home Health Company. We have been married for 20 years and raised a blended family of five children. God has seen fit to bless us with twenty grandchildren. As strong Christians we feel really blessed to have the opportunity to own a villa in Nicaragua and pray that we are able to honor GOD with it.
My husband first traveled to Nicaragua in 1971 and was intrigued by the culture, however he was not able to return again until 2008 when we met up with his college roommate and friends who are originally from Nicaragua. We both fell in love instanlty with the warm people and the beautiful country and are in awe of the astonishing architechture and unique culture. We have intentions in the next few years of retiring to Nicaragua, however in the mean time thought we could enjoy our own piece of heaven. We searched tediously for a villa that was warm, inviting, elegant and close to everything and the first time we looked at it on-line we knew this was the one. Of course when you walk into Casa Anita you will see that you instantly feel at home. We decided to purchase this villa for a vacation rental and our home away from home until we retire to Nicaragua in the near future.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Casa Anita is just 1 & 1/2 block from Mercedes Cathedral and 3 blocks form Central Park. In Central Park you will find anything you like from Horse Carriage rides to local art and crafts. Restaurants and Night LIfe surround Central Park. Just about 6 blocks further and you are at the 7th largest lake in the world. You can take a boat ride to the Isletas (Islands) and feed the monkeys on Monkey Island, swim, fish or just admire the serenity of it. Granada is a beautiful town with great architechture and amazing history.
