The villa is located in a very quiet neighborhood in the town of Hydra, just 8 minutes walk from the port in idyllic surroundings!
It was built in the traditional architecture of the island in 1980: whitewashed thick stonewalls and a woodentiled roof.
The ground floor consists of the sitting room with two big sofas (can sleep two) as well as built-in sitting, a big dinning table, a fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen.
The small front garden is ideal for your morning/afternoon coffee.
The top floor consists of three bedrooms:
-Bedroom (double bed) with en suite bathroom with comfortable shower.
-A twin beded room.
-A single bed room.
A second bathroom with marble wash basin,toilet and washing machine.
The big veranda (about 40sqm) is perfect for relaxation and romantic evenings.
All bedrooms have access to the veranda.
The island of Hydra has a beautiful harbor with shops, restaurants and cafes.
Its tiny cobblestone lanes and limestone staircases crisscross the town.
There are no cars or scooters and the only land transportation is by mules.
Hydra has always attracted prominent intellectual artists from all over the world, such as Leonard Cohen among others, who are now long term residents.

Year Purchased: 1983
About the owner: The house in Kala Pigadia is a family house. My parents bought the plot of land during the 1970s and as I had graduated as an architect from the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts et de l’ Architecture in Paris, I designed and constructed the house in the early 1980s using local workers and local materials. I have since inherited the house and completely renovated it in 2007. As I live and work as an architect in Athens, the house is used for brief holidays with my family.

The island of Hydra is unique because of its beautiful architecture that has remained unchanged for the last three centuries. There are no motor vehicles on the island and transport is effected either by boat or with mules.
The house is situated in a quiet but central neighborhood and offers beautiful walks either in the small cobblestoned streets of the town, around the many shops and tavernas in the port.
There are some beautiful beaches on the island which one can access by boat or on foot.
