Take the easy half-block stroll up to the beach -- you don’t even have to cross a street! When you have had too much sun, cruise on back for happy hour on the rooftop deck with views of the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay. Getting hungry? LOCATION: 17 Van Dyke St, Dewey Beach, DE. Google it!
+ Beach is less than ½ block away. Award winning, gorgeous and clean. No street to cross – very safe for kids. Much less crowded than Rehobeth or Ocean City beaches. Vendor right there rents beach chairs or umbrellas, and sells refreshments.
+ Rehobeth Bay is 1 block away. Fish, boat, rent a jetski, or learn to wind surf.
+ Many restaurants within 1 block walk (Que Pasa, Rusty Rudder, Port, Nala, Lighthouse, etc). 5 minute walk gets you just about anywhere in Dewey. Meet me at the Starboard!
+ Rehoboth restaurants and attractions are 5 minute ride. Jolly Trolley stops on our corner.
+ Want to get away from it all and see the beach in its natural state? Ride your bike just a mile south to Delaware Seashore State Park.

Fantastic property. Stayed over Labor Day weekend. Great proximity to beach and attractions. Clean, and excellently managed. The second floor back porch was my favorite spot! This was our first time staying in Dewey Beach and we are already planning our trip back for next year! The house was beautifully maintained & well equipped with all the comforts of home. The owners were very helpful and provided an informative welcome package via email before our arrival. This made for stress free planning. This is the perfect house for a group vacation! The owners were extremely easy to work with from start to finish & the house was immaculate upon arrival. The house looked even better in person than it did in pictures & is walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants & bars. Whatever it is that you are looking for---relaxation or fun...everything you need is right at your fingertips. I recently stayed at this condo over Labor Day weekend and cannot say enough good things about it! There were 9 of us (adults) total and we all were able to sleep comfortably. Sleeping was all I really was concerned about because we were planning on being out most of the day/night. However, the screened in porch was so spacious and nice that much our time was spent there! With the porch being right next to the kitchen it made it easy to grab food and drinks from the two fridges. The whole set up of the condo was great. I was in the bottom master bedroom (loved the water mattress!) and was impressed with how undisturbed I was with fellow guests, who had stayed out later than me. The truly nice thing about the place was the location. It’s a half block south of Rudder so you don’t get the stumbling home drunk traffic (unless of course, it’s you or a neighbor) that Dewey never disappoints on. But because it’s Dewey you are never more than walking distance from everything. We we’re steps from the beach which seems less crowded than other beach blocks in Dewey, I guess because the bay side block is mostly Rudder parking. All in all a great location! I have spent a lot of time in Dewey and as I get older, I feel my standard of renting has increased and this property exceeded my expectations. Clean, Clean, Clean! I felt as though I got all the party scene I wanted in Dewey but got enjoy the benefit of quieter block when I wanted to escape the crowd! Can’t wait go back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The house has a ton of space and plenty of bedrooms for a crowd. The location is amazing- the beach is a few steps away and you're within walking distance to everything in Dewey. We just returned from one of the best vacations our family has had at the beach. This unit filled all our needs and then some. We were a party of 11 with three young children (4,2 and 2). Having separate floors to spread out on was wonderful. The owners have gone to a lot of trouble to make sure everything you could possibly need was provided. We particularly liked the convenience of the outdoor shower and the rooftop deck (perfect place to watch the meteor shower on the 12th). Our family has vacationed in Ocean City MD for thirty plus years but finally tired of the congestion. Dewey Beach reminded us of OC in its early days before all the beachy properties were replaced. My family of 10 were very pleased with the accommodations. Plenty of room with three stories to give everyone their own space when needed which was important with two babies getting naps at various times. Nicely decorated, clean with a well stocked kitchen. Dining room had plenty of seats for all to have meals together. Great TV entertainment system with surround sound in the living room which can be seen in the dining room/kitchen area. Plenty of nice decks, one screened in, to retreat to with a book or enjoy the ocean breeze with great views of both the ocean and bay from the roof top deck, especially at sunset or sunrise! The listing description and photos were accurate and the owners sent a welcome packet helping us prepare our packing several weeks in advance of our departure. The property was clean upon our arrival. Location was the greatest benefit with ocean beach, bay beach, boating, shops, dining and entertainment all within a short walk. Our family enjoyed the convenience of getting on the Jolly Trolly to shop, dine and walk the boardwalk in Rohoboth without the hassle of driving cars and paying for parking (if you could find a spot). We enjoyed the convenience of dining out at the Two Seas Restaurant on the corner of our block to have excellent food along with a roof top bar for great ocean and bay views. Walking to and on the beach at this location was nice since the crowds were not an issue being next to exclusive Indian Beach private community and not far from the state park. I recommend this town home to any family looking to relax, stay active and have lots of fun during their vacation!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This place is in a great location. A half block from beach -- no need to cross route 1. It is also across the street from some good resturants. The Port is a hidden gem. Also, my wife has become a huge fan of the Rusty Rudder. Another great tip, is that at Que Pasa (bay side) there is a small kiosk where you can rent kayaks and paddle boards or jetskis. That was really fun with the kids. The place is great and the layout works really well with two families. It's obvious that the owners take pride in keeping it nice. We stayed at 17 Van Dyke with 12 women in June, and had a wonderful experience. The house is perfectly located a 1/2 block from the beach, and a 5-minute walk from downtown Dewey and the Jolly Trolley. There were a few minor things that went wrong (was temporarily locked out of the house, took a really long time to figure out how to use the TV), but otherwise, we were very happy with the rental. Would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: We are two sisters who grew up in New Jersey, and now live in Annapolis and Philadelphia. As kids, we always dreamed of of having our own place at the beach. After vacationing at the Delaware Seashore for the last 10 years, we finally bought in 2011.
Why the Owner Chose Dewey Beach:
We have spent so many wonderful summers here in Dewey making memories. We love Dewey's small beach town feel, and enjoy getting away from the crowds in Rehoboth and Ocean City. We like to eat at Que Pasa and enjoy the Sunday brunch and bloody mary bar at the Starboard. At night we hop the Jolly Trolly to Rehobeth. The kids love the rides at Funland.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
It is such a luxury to be so close to Dewey's award winning beach. Before we bought our own place, my husband always had to lug all the beach toys, chairs, cooler, etc. for blocks. Now we don't even bother bringing a cooler -- we just walk back to the house for drink refills.
