Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I took our two young boys to D.C. for the weekend to participate in the White House Egg Roll. I have always had great experiences with VRBO and given the glowing reviews, we thought this rental would be a good fit. It exceeded our expectations. Frank was very prompt and attentive to emails. The home is in a lovely area, was perfectly clean and was well-stocked with all sorts of niceties. It was very easy to get around by foot & public transportation. To top it off, we left behind a couple items which Frank immediately returned along with our deposit. Hope to stay again soon and spend more time exploring this lovely area. Highly recommend!

A sweet one-bedroom apartment that's a short walk to several fun areas with terrific restaurants and other amenities, including Metro stops. The apartment is well appointed, and the owner was responsive and very good to work with. It's garden level, but it gets good light through the living room windows. We recommend this place and would return.

Owner response: Jack and Brian were great guests who were exceptionally understanding when some unforeseen difficulties with the apartment arose during their stay. I'm very grateful for their patience!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property the weekend after Valentine's Day. Frank was very gracious when we needed to change our dates at the last minute and made sure that everything was ready for us a day before we had planned to arrive. We arrived in DC very late at night and had no trouble finding the apartment or getting in. The place was very clean and well-maintained. The apartment was quite spacious - perfect for the two of us, but could easily have slept many more comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed: coffee, dish ware, even creamer, condiments, and a few little snacks! The bathroom had plenty of clean towels and necessary toiletries. It was great to have laundry available on-site and the bedroom was quite large with a very comfortable bed. The neighborhood was very cute, quiet, and perfectly located with great restaurants and a Whole Foods nearby. The walk to the museums and monuments was fine, even in the blistering cold. And if we didn't want to walk, there were plenty of buses and the metro close by. Overall, we had a wonderful time! It was great to have a place all to ourselves, but also reassuring that if we needed anything, Frank was just a phone call away. We would definitely stay here on our next visit!

Stayed here for a week over the Presidential Inuaguration. Very clean and comfortable, great location, walking distance to pretty much everything. If you don't llike walking you can hop on the Metro Train at U St which is right around the corner. It was nice having a washer and dryer too, especially in the winter when half my suitcase was filled with a big jacket and cold weather clothes. Bonus: we bought some tickets to a Caps game on Stubhub, and Frank (the owner upstairs) printed them out for us and taped them to the front door. I would recommend this apartment to anyone I know.

We recently stayed here and had the best time. The apartment was clean and had everything you could possibly need, even little extras like a shopping cart if you want to go and buy food. The apartment was in a quiet street, which is nice when you want to sleep after a long day of sight seeing. But it was also near tons of great bars/restaurants on U street as well as the U street metro station. Would absolutely come back and stay here again especially since this was less expensive and better option than a hotel!

This was our second time staying in the DC area and this vacation rental was definitely the way to go! We had no problems taking the Metro from the airport and walking to the apartment. It was just as described in the listing and in the photos, and Frank was great at quickly answering our questions. The neighborhood was safe and very walkable, with grocery stores and unique restaurants just a few blocks away. The umbrella in the closet was very handy the day we visited the Capitol. We tried to leave the apartment as tidy as we found it, and Frank returned our deposit in less than a week after our stay. We have been back home a little over a week and are already talking about a return trip!! We will gladly recommend this place to our friends!

I think the apartment itself and the location was very good for 3 people. Apartment was clean and spacious and location was very good in terms of proximity to metro, restaurants and shops. We took the metro until we discovered how much closer and more pleasant the bus was to get to downtown close to the national mall. I definitely recommend that you explore that option first.

The apartment is so lovely and includes so many nice touches like essentials for the kitchen and bath, rolling shopping cart, etc. It even has a laundry machine! Fantastic wifi! And much needed central air - not window units. Frank is lovely and everything went smoothly and efficiently. The buses are so so easy from this location and you get to see so many things...forget the metro! I would highly recommend!!

This property is extremely quiet, even though it is just 4-5 short blocks from the heart of Dupont Circle. It is clean and even had a very light weight grocery cart, which I used to get groceries at Whole Foods, just two blocks away. I would definitely recomend it highly. When the bathroom sink plunger broke, the landlord had it fixed within several hours.

As stated - wonderful apartment, clean/neat with everything you need. We were able to walk to the Washington Mall each day (about 1.25 miles each way), not for everyone. Metro close, great restaurants and grocery store close by. Wonderful neighborhood in all directions to walk in the morning or evenings Good wi-fi, nice tvs. We had our cleaning deposit returned before we arrived back home on the west coast!

This apartment was perfect for our recent stay. Our party included 2 adults and 2 children. We traveled with our bikes making getting around incredibly easy. There is a very nice bike lane with access basically out the front door and running all the way down to the National Mall and many other locations. There are a couple grocery stores near by and many nice restaurants. We cooked breakfast each morning before setting out for the day. The washer and dryer were great and allowed us to travel lightly. Frank was wonderful to deal with from start to finish. We felt like locals and would definitely stay here again for any future travel to DC.

This apartment was exactly as described in the VRBO add. It was clean, quiet, well maintained, nicely decorated (love the Picasso book and pretty glassware in the bedroom) and the bed was very comfortable with nice, fresh linens. The owner, Frank has been just a joy to rent from, he has been very nice through the entire rental process and very knowledgable. He is very prompt and professional when returning your all or answering any questions. The area is very safe and there was'nt any time that I felt afraid to walk to through the U corridor or over to 17th Dupont Circle, even by myself at night a couple of times. It's the perfct place to stay in the city to visit all of the attractions. It only took me a day to feel my way around. We used taxis to get to all of the attactions and most were only $8.00 - $10.00 each way, which is cheap considering the ease and convenience of hailing a taxi on a minutes notice anywhere.(I really got that life in the big city experience) From he airport the taxi was $17.00 The taxi drivers were extremely nice and practically gave us a tour on the way to each destination, very knowlegable of the city and all the arts and government buldings. The Metro bus system is easy to get to, but you have to study the routes and know which color line to get on and get off from, if you have time go for it, but taxis worked for me. I recommend Annie;s on 17th Dupont Circle, the steak, loaded baked potato and brocolli was supurb! I also recommend a must see: The Masonic Temple right across the street. It offers free daily guided tours and you can take pictures inside. Summary: Awesome DC adventure.

The location was perfect and the place was adorable. We pretty much walked to everything. Then after a long day of fun, we'd return for a peaceful sleep in the incredibly comfortable bed. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. I will definately stay here again when I return to DC.

This basement apartment is exactly as described in the ad. The pictures show just what you will see when you walk down to this apartment. The place was clean, but old (tiles, cupboards etc.). The kitchen is stocked with the basics and Frank even put out a little hotel vibe with tiny shampoo/conditioner and cream and the single coffee packets. Frank was great in terms of addressing any questions before we got there, and we were lucky enough to get to chat with him when we got there, and he was very helpful! The location is wonderful. As soon as we got there we walked to the white house which took us about an hour or so, there and back (including a quick stop for pictures). We took public transit the next day to get to the Smithsonian, but it was crazy busy in the morning, and not so kid (stroller) friendly, so we drove after that and it was not too difficult to get around, and parking wasn't so bad :) If you are looking for a place to lay your head and make some simple meals that is well located, this is just what you are looking for. Just to play the devils advocate I'll let you know the things I found less than desirable: *smoke detector was very sensitive (boiling water or baking pizza...not burning...set it off) *there is a door from the bedroom to the private residence (kind of strange) *couch is NOT comfortable (but we had a 1 year old, so we were in early and wanted to lounge on the couch while he was going to sleep in the bedroom)

Clean, well-decorated, comfortable bed and wonderful wi-fi. The owner is upstairs and very accomodating. Only improvement would to have a TV in the living room (but I did like have Showtime and HBO).

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car.

Owner response: There's now a 32" flat screen TV in the living room in addition to the smaller TV in the bedroom.

Frank's apartment is in an ideal location to explore DC. The unit was clean and on a quiet residential street. The self check-in and out was very convenient for us since we did not have to coordinate with anyone else's schedule and the unit is equipped with everything one needs to make themselves feel at home. Although we did not meet Frank during our stay, he was extremely easy to deal with and in fact our final decision of who to rent from was influenced by his responsive and willingness to go the extra mile with the little details like arranging a parking pass. We would definitely recommend Frank's apartment for a stay in DC.

I use VRBO frequently, and found this condo to be perfect for my recent 5-day trip to DC! I could not have asked for a better, safer location. The owner was very accomodating and made sure that my stay was perfect. Further, the bedroom is cozy and has a very comfortable bed, LCD TV with satellite, huge closet space, and plenty of lighting (most on dimmers). The big fridge and table in the kitchen made meals at "home" easy so I was able to save some money vs eating out. I would HIGHLY recommend this VRBO to any DC traveler, especially those looking for a central Dupont/Logan circle location!
