We have stayed for one week with 3 teenagers during last winter and we all appreciated the location of this apartment, very close to the downtown Annecy (5 mm walk). The place is quit and silent, thanks to the good windows isolation. Heating is efficient and rooms are comfortable even if it looks old style furniture. We have appreciated the long term view of the owners who plans to refresh each year one room. The kitchen is very nice and convenient. Next time it should be the bathroom to be reworked. We appreciated as well that the apartment is very well equipped with books, useful advices and recommendations. We feel like at home and French are not used to it. If you are French we will recommend you to send payment directly to the French account of the owners in Annecy. It will safe time. Last point to be noted is the very friendly people leaving in the building and who will welcome you and give you any kind of support.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

this was our first visit to annecy (or anywhere in france!) with our family of four (2 boys 2 and 5). for anyone expecting something fancy or remodeled, this is not it. it is clean, but very humble. the tiles are old and it is furnished very traditionally. but the apartment was definitely spacious enough for us. the portable crib and single beds were great. the larger bed was very firm, but i'll take firm over overly soft any day. the kitchen is very small with little to no counter space if you are cooking, but you make it work. i'd say the one big complaint we had is the great number of ants that were present this week. they are fast and though we would take great care to do the dishes and wipe down the tables, etc. after meals, we would still find them out and about in the mornings. the tile in the kitchen could definitely use some replacing or at the very least, fresh caulking. it was very warm this week and the two fans in the bedrooms came in handy. additionally, the apartment stays very cool compared to outside. and we were amazed how quiet it was. aside from the front door of the building, which is pretty loud, you could not hear the neighbors at all. not a single footstep from above. and we were very happy to walk out to the fabulous market saturday morning right across the street. the wireless internet worked GREAT too. and as so many have noted, the owners and the caretakers, as well as the neighbors were all very kind and went out of their way to be helpful.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

We stayed here during a festival and it was simply fantastic! I have been to a lot of hotels and residences in Annecy, but this was really perfect. The apartment was cozy but bigger than we expected so we had no problems when some friends came over for dinner. We had everything, appliances/towels/sheets and the rooms were clean. I admit that the bathroom is not super modern, but it is a real house and it felt good coming back here after a day of running around in Annecy. The owners and the couple who manages it are very nice and not at all intrusive. I reccomend it to all!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for a week with our three young boys. We were impressed with the spaciousness and layout of the apartment, as well as the great location (5-7 min by foot to Lake Annecy, 5 more onto the Old Town). The kitchen and bathroom were a bit dated, but very clean, well-equipped and more than adequate for the purpose. The high ceilings, polished floors and doors onto the terrace gave the place a lovely "french" feel. A good playground directly across the street, plus on-site free parking helped make this a great choice for family travel. Overall, a very nice experience. I would stay here again and definitely recommend this, (and Annecy in general), to my friends as a good-value, comfortable place to stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This apartment is quiet, clean, and spacious (for France). The building is from the 1930's and quite spare. It's charming in a quaint way. From a practical standpoint, the beds are hard (I liked this, my wife didn't) and the shower needs to be updated. However, the owners are wonderfully helpful and accommodating, as are the caretakers who live in the apartment above. Our visit was overshadowed by poor skiing (the reason we came to Annecy), but we were pleased with our accommodations.Recommended for: Sightseeing

I've now used Homeaway for four different rentals, ranging from Hawaii to France. My experience with this one was top notch. The apartment was as described, if not better. The location was great, a short walk to the old town and the park next to the lake, and one of the most amazing markets I've seen anywhere in the world is right across the street on Saturdays. We had four kids, ranging from 1 to 14, and it was perfect for them as well. There is a playground literally across the street, and since the apartment is on the first floor, we never worried that they were too loud and disturbing people below. I can't wait to return to Annecy, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We were in Europe for about 8 weeks and our stay here was an 8 day stretch in the middle (5/28/10 to 6/5/10). At the end of the trip the 4 of us agreed it had been one of the trip highlights. The apartment’s location within Anncey is great as is the location of Anncey itself for touring the French Alps & Lake Geneva. The apartment is well laid out and well equipped including many “extras”. Some things we appreciated in particular were: the Wi Fi and telephone communications provided, the very comprehensive "operations" manual and collection of tourist information, the basic groceries and other supplies on hand to start off housekeeping. My wife does not walk well and was especially thankful for the very close local bus stops which make it easy to get to the lake and downtown. Last, but far from least in importance, the owner is very straightforward and easy to deal with. All in all, an excellent experience which we will remember fondly.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This apartment is in a great location, just a short 5 minute walk to the lake and town. It was bigger than we thought, we were 4 ladies and had no issues sharing this apartment even with 1 bathroom. It was nice to be able to sit on the terrace, if I had one piece of advice it would be to somehow shield the terrace from the traffic and street, the terrace is very close to the road and it can be noisy and distracting. There were two great bakeries really close to the apartment, I wouldn't recommend the dry cleaners across the street. They were very slow and didn't do a good job with our laundry. The grocery store is in walking distant as long as you don't have a lot of bags to carry, Galeries Lafayette right across the street (dangerous).Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Three of us had a wonderful week in this apartment at Annecy. The location was excellent-walking distance to the Old Town, shopping centre and train station. The apartment was spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed. 5 of us (plus a 14 mo old, pack and play provided) stayed in the apartment for 3 nights in May 2010. The apartment worked out great for us, it was so close to everything. It was very clean, updated, and plenty big enough for all of us. Working with Karen couldn't have been more enjoyable. She was eager to share tips and suggestions over the phone and via e-mail. I would highly recommend staying here. Annecy was probably the best part of our trip. Thanks so much!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Four of us had a very comfortable stay in this appt recently. We found it in a very convenient position, within a good walking distance of places of interest, including the stunning Lac Annecy. Without a car, we took buses to beauitiful Talloires, Clusac & Albertville, these were easy to access at the railway station. The appt itself had everything we needed & a short walk away were shops selling fresh croissants & excellent sandwiches, & with all the restaurants in the old town we needed to do very little cooking, though there was everything in the flat should we have wanted to do so. There was plenty of info regarding the area & things to do. We really enjoyed our stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We stayed in this appartmenet for about 10 days in March/April 2009, with my husband and 2 toddlers. I am French and grew up in Annecy, so I know the area inside and out. This appartment is located in what locals call the "Triangle d'Or" area of Annecy which is premium for real estate (superb location). You do not need a car at all. At walking distance, there is a nice grocery store, a bus stop and a train station. You can even get your clothes washed accross the street. There is a typical big farners market weekly accross teh street. As for the night life, you can walk easily to the old town(15-20 min very enjoyable walk, french style). The appartement floor plan is very smart and makes the place feel really big. The appartment is divided by a corridor that separate bedrooms from living quarters. This makes for a very quiet appartment, at night and during the day time. From my standpoint (French person very accustomed to American standard), this is a really nice place, great value. If you are used to Americin standard and have not had a chance to travel to Western Europe, you may feel that the appartment is a bit old and that the kitchen is small. But again, this is really nice for France and the kitchen is absolutely workable. Another nice thing about this place is that it's sturdy and does not have too much breakable items. I felt really confortable with my kids running around. The neighbors are really nice. In my transactions with the owner, everything worked as discussed. Great stay and will definitely recommend to US and French friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We stayed in the apartment in August of 2009 with our two children. We loved it -- it is a typical French apartment but it is HUGE by European standards. The location near the lake, the free parking, the garden, and the amenities in the apartment were just great. We also loved Annecy and Haute-Savoie. We highly recommend this rental for either staying in Annecy or for exploring the region.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We spent 4 nights in this apartment in July 2008 and were very pleased. It is very comfortable and pleasant. Lots of space, plus access to the patio outside. What's more, it is nicely located--within walking distance of the old town and lake. I hope to be able to stay there again some day.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our family of 5 stayed in this apartment in Sept and had a wonderful time. Our train arrived late and we were still met at the appt and settled in cheerfully. The apartment is very centraly located to the town and the lake and the market over the road was a lovely bonus. We loved Annecy and totally recommend this apartment as a great base for a stay in this beautiful city.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
