Kuhio Shores, our "Jewel on the Sea,"on Kauai's Gold Coast.

When we first walked into what was to become our new home in Kauai, the views of the ocean, coastline, and lush green hills and palms literally took our breath away! Located on a fantastic snorkeling beach (rated best snorkeling in Kauai by "Sunset" magazine) and a summer surfing favorite, we could see turtles feeding below the lanai and blowholes out in the distance. Around the corner we saw where we had first learned to snorkel, next to one of the best restaurants in all of Kauai, the Beach House. Our oceanfront, one bedroom condominium, #305 at Kuhio Shores, exceeds our dreams!

If you are on your honeymoon, wish to recapture the romance in your relationship, or you just want to experience the awesome beauty and serenity of this "jewel on the sea" by yourself, with your family, or friends, this is the ideal home for you when vacationing on the Garden Island of Kauai.

Kuhio Shores is closer to the ocean than an other condo or resort on the entire island of Kauai, with beach access. Learn to snorkel by the Beach House, on the west side of the building (teaming with fish; over 650 varieties in Hawaii!), then get into the water below our lanai to snorkel or dive with turtles! On the south side of our property, relax on the grass and watch surfers (little kids will amaze you!)and whales in winter. Right here, are three of Kauai's premier surf spots: PK'S, Acid Drops, and Centers.

In our completely private, third floor condominium (4 floors total), the only thing you hear is the crashing of the waves. As soon as you open the front door, your eyes go out to the ocean. You have unobstructed views from the kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom and, of course, the lanai.

Remodeled for the most discriminating guest, our home reflects the Hawaiian tropics. Comfort and beauty are our priority. Bamboo floors glisten in the light of the morning sunrise. New tile and paint, in tropical greens and earth tones, create a peaceful, clean atmosphere. Bathe in luxury in our Noccino Italian marble shower with stone accents. The kitchen features Brazilian, Verdi Peacock granite countertops and new stainless steel appliances. In the diningroom, bamboo wainscoting and a huge mirror framed in dark tropical wood, reflects the crashing waves, bringing the spectacular beauty of Kauai's nature inside.

An ultra luxurious, king-size bed, a top-of-the-line with a "memory foam" pillowtop, is the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. Silky soft SeaCell sheets, made from seaweed fiber and pima cotton, are supposed to impart healthful vitamins and minerals to the skin, making this a truly blissful bed! Ocean breezes cool you naturally as they are pulled though the bedroom breezeway. The chenille, queen-size, pull-out couch has a five-inch-thick mattress (no bars or poking springs). Two Hawaiian-style reclining chairs are perfect for laying back to watch the waves, listen to CDs, or watch cable TV. The hand-carved dining room table with rattan chairs is your exclusive seat to spot playful spinner dolphins. Artwork is carefully chosen to reflect the lushness and peace of Kauai. On our large lanai are two chaise lounges, chairs and tables; you will be so comfortable, you may not want to leave. Seeing a rainbow, or the moon shimmering over the water will create lifetime memories.

Because we know you are probably tired and hungry after your long journey, we give you an "Aloha Basket" with snacks and coffee, so that you can immediately begin to relax.

The "Aloha Spirit" truly exists on the island of Kauai. We have done our very best to bring this spirit into our "Jewel on the Sea." Kauai Oceanfront Condominium--Our "Jewel on the Sea" in Poipu!

Year Purchased: 2004

Why the Owner Chose Kuhio Shores

Kuhio Shores is where, as one guest described it, "the location is the destination." It is closer to the water than any other resort or condo on the island and perhaps,in all of the islands, with beaches for snorkeling, diving and surfing right at the condo. No need to get into a car. You will hear the sounds of the ocean day and night. From our wall of windows and the lanai you can watch the day turn into night with spectacular sunrises, relax on the lanai while the cool aqua waves roll past the lanai and turtles feel below, witness a passing shower and rainbows over the water and Prince Kuhio Park. In winter we get excited by the sighting see a breaching whale. Walk over to the Beach House restaurant for dinner or bring a drink down to the beach to watch the magnificent sunset. Head back up to the condo to lay on chaise lounge under the evening stars or gaze at the full moon reflecting over the water. We never tire of the constant lull of the ocean. Our Jewel on the Sea, #305 Kuhio Shores, exceeds our dreams.

Dear Molla, We can not thank you enough for sharing your island home with us. We had a wonderful visit to Kaua'i! We would have been happy spending the entire trip sitting on the Lanai watching the waves, whales and the sea turtles. We did venture out to see a good bit of the island and are looking forward to future trips when we can see some more. Your condo is lovely and very comfortable. The pride of ownership is apparent in all the beautiful natural materials you have used and they really enhance the experience there. I am mailing the key back tomorrow morning. We will definately refer your condo to our friends and family (my mother is all ready interested and talking to my dad) and hope to stay with you again when we are able to return. I can't imagine better accomodations anywhere. Mahalo, Susan Lucas

    • Molla and Kevin, What a beautiful home you have! The view was amazing! For us visiting from Arizona - hearing the ocean day and night was heaven! I couldn't wait to wake up every morning just to watch the sea turtles. They were magical. It was definitely one of the best trips we have ever been on. We just loved every minute of it. We would highly recommend your condo to anyone and everyone! It was so comfortable and inviting! Thanks and hope we can make it back one day....

Molla, We had an AWESOME time!! #305 is definitely one of the better, if not the best, units in the complex. We know this as a result of conversations with several other guests. Also, the owners of the other units were very friendly and helpful. We checked out the other resorts in the area (and in Princeville) and without a doubt your’s is the best, with views of the water and related ocean life. We observed turtles (like you said), dolphins, and whales from the Lanai . We had a great time. We’ll definitely tell our friends/family about your unit and our experience. When we go back with our daughter we’ll defiantly stay at your place!!! Thank you for all your help and with helping us experience of the great island of Kauai . Mahalo, Tim Lalley

Hi Molla, Thank you! We had an absolutely wonderful time in Kauai. The condo was everything we hoped it would be. What a view out to the water! As we traveled around, we couldn't help but compare where we were staying to all the other options, and we couldn't find a place we'd have rather been. It really helped make our trip. Thank you for keeping such a beautiful and inviting home. We managed to keep ourselves relatively busy while we were there, between snorkeling (outside the condo and elsewhere), hiking (to Hanakapiai Beach, and at Waimea Canyon), and sitting on the beach. It was a great mix of relaxing and being active. We also saw plenty of turtles, both from the lanai and up close under water. Amazing! So all in all it was a fantastic honeymoon for us, and we were sad to have to say goodbye to the condo and to Kauai. It's a long trip from the east coast, but we resolved to come back whenever we can. Again, your condo is wonderful, and we hope to be able to stay there when we eventually return to Kauai. And we'll absolutely recommend it to anyone we know who heads out that way. Thanks again! Mark

    • Molla & Kevin, Wow, your condo was everything we had looked forward to and more. I think the best part was grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning and having the option to sit out on the Lanai and watch the sea turtles below or take a walk outside and sit and watch the ocean waves break. You have done such an amazing job with the place making it "home-y" and "vacation-y" at the same time. We would love to go back and stay there anytime-great location, great accomodations, great view. It was also a pleasure dealing with you. Thanks for everything. Warm Regards, Scott & Amy Jo

    • Dear Kevin and Molla, We had a great time on our honeymoon thanks to the wonderful accommodations you provided. During our first dinner on the lanai we saw four sea turtles. The sunsets were spectacular as well, and the pulsing of the waves helped us sleep. Your accommodations were clean, well decorated, and of high quality. Being so close to restaurants, Poipu Beach, Spouting Horn, and shopping centers helped make our stay even more luxurious. Thank you so much for helping to make our honeymoon so wonderful, Helen and Jacob

Hi Molla, Mike and I wanted to thank you and your husband for creating such a beautiful, cozy, and warm retreat during our stay in your condo in Kauai. You were right, we weren’t there long enough. We have to stay at least a week next time. Mike swam with the sea turtles, my favorite sea animals, almost every day! They only hung out on our side of the condo that’s facing the bay. Mike watched them eat algae that’s found only on the rocks out in front of your condo. We watched them a few hours in the afternoon from the lanai on a daily basis. What a special treat! We have stayed in other condos before that were right on the beach as well, and none has compared to yours. It exceeded our expectations! It was huge and felt like we stayed in a suite. The décor was beautifully done. My husband thought you and I shared the same decorating taste, such as the same maple cabinets in the bathroom and similar hardware with the brushed nickel finish, and the chenille sofa. I knew there was a reason we connected so well. We plan on visiting all the islands, so only the Big Island to go and then we’ll make our way back to Kauai for a much longer stay in the near future. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else on the island. We visited other condo complexes and big hotel chains and loved your condo and its location best. We didn’t do much on Kauai because our time was limited and we really wanted to relax. Although, we did spend a day driving up to the North Shore. We visited Wailua Falls on the way, which was beautiful. We love the Trailblazer book you provided in the condo. We took the driving tour, which was perfect! We took a stroll down Poipu beach and saw a monk seal that just had a baby, which was so neat to see (they were across the beach on a sandbar). We snorkeled almost every day on our beach and saw a bunch of fish. The water was a little rough where the sea turtles hung out, so I didn’t make it out there but Mike (who’s part fish, I’m convinced) was with them as I sat and watched from above on the rocks. The ceiling fan worked really well at night. Overall, too short a trip but what a great place to visit and a what a wonderful condo you both have! It really made us feel like home. We had all the amenities of being at home (iron, blow dryer, etc.), thank you for providing such wonderful accommodations for us and being a wonderful host from a far! Thank you for everything! You made our one-year anniversary so special for providing such an incredible place to stay! Nary

We had the time of our lives and just loved your condo. The a/c in the bedroom will make it just perfect, even though we thought the fan kept us cool enough. Thanks for letting us borrow your gem. We sure will stay with you the next time we go to this wonderful island. Thank so you so much for the excellent service. Enrique
