It felt like home! Probably partly to do with the fact that the owners are my parents, but really it was great! It was our first visit since they moved there. Me and my husband and two kids, daughter age 8 and son age 13, had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas visit. The pool is awesome. The deepest, nicest, most fun pool around, plus it has a hot tub! Was nice on cooler nights and especially after climbing the double waterfall trail in the Coxcomb Wildlife Sanctuary. The waterfall and pool at the B&B are a lot easier to enjoy, too. They are so close to the beach, but we hardly ever wanted to leave the pool. The rooms are 5 Star luxery. The food is amazing. All the people are so nice (everyone there, not just my parents). Everyone who stayed there while we were there seemed to really love it. All the locals seem to like it there, too. Many people that came to the restaurant and bar (Joe's Place) came back night after night. My mom cooked most of the food, and my dad makes the bread and buns (Joe's buns are a hit there and a constant joke). Mostly it is food you would get in the US with touches of the local food. The fresh fruit and veggies are plentiful, varied, and taste great. The other restaurants in the area are within walking distance and very delicious also, but the best prices and service is at Joe's Place. Besides the Coxcomb Basin hike, we also went to the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins, snorkling at the reef, and on the Monkey River Tour. I would like to go back to the Wildlife sanctuary and do some of the easier trails, the plane wreck, and the butterfly farm. Snorkling was the best. So many fish! We saw rays, too! The Mayan ruins were awesome! So green in the Jungle. It's a little scary climbing up, (especially in the rain on slippery rocks) but the view from the top takes your breath away! The ferry over there was neat, too. The monkey river tour was pretty neat, but it freaked my mom out a little. Ha Ha! She was a little afraid of the monkeys and the other guide was egging them on. it was so cool to be out there with them in their own environment. The trees and plants were cool, too. The boat ride there through the mangroves was full of bird watching and a few gators and iguanas. At the end we went over a manatee reserve, but we were not so lucky and did not see any. We did see some not too far out off the beach back by the B&B one day though. There is so much to do, but make sure you take time to just relax!!!!!!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We went on a trip and found Paradise is Belize. Three couples went on the trip and had a fabulous time. Everything was great. After seeing the completion of the property we were stunned. As they were telling us the plans I don't think we ever imagined the true beauty of this place. Cindy & Joe give 110% in making your stay very memorable. We went fishing, Mayan Ruins, snorkeling, cooking out & just being lazy. What a wonderful time we had at The Caribbean Shores Bed & Breakfast.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We are originally from Illinois and we now live down here in Belize permanently. Joe was in IT and I (Cindy) worked as a food broker. We came here with our dog Bella and our African Grey, Rico. We all love it here, the relaxing atmosphere and the friendliness of the villagers.
Why the Owner Chose Hopkins:
We came here for many reasons: same time zone, favorable currency exchange rate, BEACHES, only 2 hours travel from US Coast. Also, there is so much to do here or so little, whatever you like. We also have the small town village feeling that we love. It is not too overdone with touristy things and has something for all, great family spot too.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
Coffe in the morning watching the sunrise from the rooftop or drinks in the evening with the amazing sunsets is something you will not find anywhere else down here in our village. We also have the BEST pool anywhere, jacuzzi, waterslide, waterfall, just beautiful. You will also find some of the best dining here, and we can get you reservations too: Chef Rob's, Barracuda Bar and Grill, Driftwood Pizza Shack and so many more including some of the best local foods. Whether you are looking for an action vacation or just to relax, we can help you find it.
