In this historical street, where Henry Miller used to live and wrote Tropic Of Cancer in 1934, you will enjoy a true, quiet, pleasant, luminous and safe Parisian life.
Located in the villa Seurat, a quiet and residential street where the architect André Lurçat designed eight houses and where Soutine, Gromaire, Goerg used to live, the house, constructed on 3 levels with a small central garden is spacious (approximately 1825 square feet, 170m2),with a magnificent 12 meters high artist studio.
The living room, the kitchen, a study and two rooms (a big room with a double bed and another room with a single bed) the bathroom and the toilet are on the first floor. The spacious studio and a third room are on the second floor and a fourth room with a double bed and a study are located on the third floor.
A freezer, a washing machine and a dryer are provided in the basement.
The area is safe and pleasant and close to the beautiful park Montsouris, idyllic to go for a picnic on a sunny day or to run. The subway station Alésia is well connected to the rest of Paris (line 4 goes from the south to the north and there are many buses: the 28, 38, 62 and 68). We are very near Denfert Rochereau (direct with the RER from Charles De Gaulle airport and Orly). The area abounds with small shops, cinemas, cafés and restaurants. The house is located 10 minutes away on foot from the rue Daguerre, a charming small shopkeepers' street where you will find traditional fresh products and plenty of nice cafés. The house is close to Montparnasse, the Luxembourg and St Germain des Prés.

This home in the 14th Arrondisment is a real slice of Paris in a nice neighborhood near a wonderful park. The owner is very friendly and made the arrangements, (both arrival & departure) at our time frame. Alexandra was accommodating of our multi-generational family of 8 adults and 2 small children. The photos (while accurate) do not convey the more rustic nature of the home. The garden was small, serene and the roses were wonderful. The single bathroom had both a huge bath and a shower with the toilet in another room as is typical of Europe. This modest home is not a "rental only" property, but the living home and workspace of an artist with it's own charm because of this. Works well for folks who do not want to be in the center of the tourist areas and willing to travel on metro to see the tourist sites. This is one of the most affordable homes to rent for larger groups in Paris, I spent weeks researching to find this rental. If you are looking for 4 or 5 star accommodation this will not be for you, but if you want value, quiet, and a real Paris neighborhood experience give this a try.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
