I can't imagine a better location. Waves right at the botton of the deck and crashing waves out the window all night long. The kayaks are a lot of fun. We saw surfers, kayakers, snorklers, turtles, fish and wonderful, wonderful sun rises. I had a little bit of a problem realizing that I was seeing the sun rise instead of set, because I was raised near the Oregon Coast and the ocean was always on the west. It was the perfect place for two couples.

Nice Private Location
Nice Private Location
There is really not much to say that has not been said already in the other reviews. This place is outstanding and all we expected it to be. My wife and I from North Pole, Alaska and 2 friends from Sitka, Alaska stayed for 8 days. The first few days of our stay it was 41 below in North Pole and in the 80's here. We had good timing! It was a great location away from all the people but not far away from great beaches and restaurants. There is no one else around except the neighbors to the south and they were quiet and friendly. There are lots of fish and turtles to watch from the deck and we had a fire in the fire pit just about every evening just enjoying the warm breeze and moon rise. We will stay here again on our next vacation to Oahu!

This beach house location was just perfect for our family. Fishing from the lanai, watching the sun and moon rise, kayaking in the clear blue water, this property was incredible. I live in Hawaii and have stayed at numerous beach housed around the island. This was definitely one of our favorites. Especially impressive is how private this location felt. The property was clean had lots of amenities. The property manager was prompt, courteous and easy to work with. We'll definitely come back again!

As the others have said, it is a great place. It surpassed my expectations. The sunrises are amazing. Waves are splashing just below the deck. The kayaks are a wonderful addition to the stay. It is very private and very comfortable. The only slight downfall is the traffic noise, but the constant sound of the waves breaking on the rocks a few feet away made us forget about the traffic very quickly. Definitely worth coming back to!

great get away
great get away
This is a great rental. It's hard to get a true sense of it from the pictures. The whole front of the home is ceiling to floor windows looking out to the ocean. You can even see the ocean from the shower :) There are multiple 'lanais' - including the one off the master, but also down by the lagoon, and a narrow one along the front of the house over the ocean. There are not 3 but 4 kayaks - 3 two-person and 1 one-person, plus life jackets in every size, lots of snorkel gear, a shower outside for knocking the sand off, and a fire bowl on the upper lanai. The lagoon is great. No waves at all - super safe. Our 9-yr old son dug out a huge sand crab (not sure which of them was more surprised :) and had endless fun there. The waves break far out on the reef in front of the home and roll into a stone wall at the front of the house. You couldn't be closer to the water without being IN it. Breathtaking to wake up in the mornings and see the ocean out the wall of window. The floor plan is very open and circular. There is a lot of warm woods (which make the space look somewhat dark in the photos, but it's not really at all). The kitchen is well stocked and Arish (the property manager, who is just wonderful!) is very attentive to any needs. The home is decorated very tastefully. We could not have found a better place. It was a beautiful side of the island, very lush - and a great base camp for going either north or south. Highly recommend this property!

My wife and I, along with our teenage son and daughte,r stayed at Ka Lae Hale for a week. We also stayed a couple of days at a hotel at Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. We enjoyed the beach house far more. The ocean views are fantastic (the website photos do not do them justice), and there were no crowds at any beach we went to in the area. Our kids saw a sea turtle while snorkeling and several meteors in the night sky, which is incredible because of the lack of city lights. There is a lot to do in the area. We visited Kualoa Ranch and the Polynesian Cultural Center. We also explored the North and South shores of the island, which were a very reasonable drive away. The house amenities are excellent. The washer and dryer came in handy, and we enjoyed the kayaks, as well. My advice is skip Honolulu and set up camp here for your vacation. We are definitely looking forward to coming back some day.

Perfect Secluded Right on the Water
Perfect Secluded Right on the Water
This place has waves breaking under the house. It is very secluded and the private lagoon was fun for the kids to find crabs and get their feet wet. It was very peaceful going to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing below us. The property manager met us and was very nice. The photos are very accurate and the place was very clean. We had fun taking the kayaks out into the ocean. They had life jackets and everything you would need to go out. You could not get any closer to the ocean without being on a boat and we would stay here again.
