North Park cottage description
Built in 1911, our 101 year old stable has been converted to a comfortable 1 bedroom cottage complete with all the amenities of home. We love our cottage but we of course our opinion is biased. Please click on 'Traveler's Reviews' above for unbiased opinions. That said... do you want to walk to the Zoo, museums, dozens of local restaurants and bars? We have the place for you. The downtown historic Gaslamp district and Coronado beaches are just a 15 minute drive away. For sports enthusiasts we have golf, disc golf, tennis, swimming, hiking and running trails all within walking distance.

I needed a place within walking distance of my daughter & son-in-law & my new grandson. I looked at this cottage online plenty of times..could it be that nice? I was concerned, but no reason to be. It is a great cottage. Very cozy & comfortable, with everything you need...even zip-loc bags! I ran out of my shower get & there was some supplied in a nice basket in the bathroom. And the very cute bathroom has a heated floor! I turned the heat in the cottage off (prefer a cooler room at night) and the bathroom always felt warm with that nice floor. I am not even sure their description includes the wonderful back room...basically just a huge walk in closet...with a small closet with my own(well I guess it's own) washer & dryer. It kind of felt like my place...private, clean, cozy... It was a great place to stay, the pictures are very accurate. I love to walk -easy to get to Balboa Park, many restaurants to walk to. Mike & Sharon were very nice. I already have a reservation to go back!

Well, I have just returned from a week at this cozy, comfortable, charming cottage in San Diego located right on the North Park/South Park border (a great neighborhood!) ... and I wish that I were still ensconced in that little bit of heaven! The cottage is beautifully yet simply appointed with all the amenities needed for a home away from home. The owners, Sharon and Mike, are most gracious hosts allowing their guests privacy while at the same time being available for questions or a friendly chat from their front porch. Best of all was the lovely sound of water flowing softly through their Koi pond in the evening that lulled me in a deep, peaceful sleep. I highly recommend this cottage!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to San Diego. The cottage provided the perfect accommodation. It is nicely decorated and comfortable, with a claw footed bathtub and amazingly cozy bed! The owners were readily available and responsive, and made us feel welcome. The cottage is located in a very nice, residential area, just a few minutes from Balboa Park and North Park shops and restaurants, and about 15 minutes from the downtown area and harbour. It is a wonderful place to stay. We'll be back!

It was the nicest experience we have had in a long time. We have stayed in several vacation rentals over the years and this was one of the best. It was like staying in your own home. Everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. Mike and Sharon are very warm and friendly people. It didn't feel like you were in the back of their.property,It felt like a separate location and totally private. I would recommend this property to anyone. The location was near the zoo and Balboa Park. You were close to everything.

Cottage was as listed. It was cute, clean and very well located. I would have given it an excellent rating except it might be time to upgrade the bed and sitting furniture. The owner was very helpful. The cottage was very well supplied with the items we all use every day. Parking was not a problem. We would return again for another stay and have already recommended it to friends.

Owner response: Judi, Thanks for your kind words and recommendations. We checked out the bed ourselves and you will find a new memory foam mattress for your next visit. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you again. Mike, Sharon and Snooki
The place was better than expected and advertised. Everything was clean, neat, provided, and just how you would want your home to be. The hosts were extremely helpful. 30th Anniversary Getaway
30th Anniversary Getaway
My wife and I both found the cottage to be very cozy and comfortable as well as clean and inviting. We could sit on our private patio and enjoy morning coffee. It was a great place to spend our anniversary. We walked to various restaurants and it was a five minute drive to the zoo. The owners were very kind and gave great suggestions for dining and sight seeing destinations. We would definitely stay here again if it is available. We would highly recommend the Station for dinner and beers. Have already recommended this cottage to our friends.

Our recent stay at this North Park cottage could not have been more enjoyable. The description of the property and pictures portray the rental unit to a "T." The cottage is located in a quaint residential neighborhood made up of 1930's bungalows that have been totally remodeled or are in the process of being remodeled. The owners live on the property and therefore the unit inside and out is very well maintained. The neighborhood is extremely quiet with friendly neighbors who you will see out walking with their children and pets. The cottage is immaculate. The kitchen appliances are all full size and the kitchen is equipped with everything you would need for cooking a great meal. There is a new full size washer and dryer. The cottage is located within walking distance to Balboa Park. The downtown area is just a few blocks away and the beaches are a short drive. We were approved by the owners to bring our Goldendoodle along to stay at the cottage and we ended up having a great family vacation!

My husband and I recently stayed at this cottage on our first trip to San Diego for our 10th anniversary. It was indeed a real treat in a nice neighborhood wih cute Craftsman bungalows. We are a couple of runners so the proximity to Balboa Park's trails was perfect. What I found exemplary was the attention to detail. Every little thing you could think you would possibly need was there and even those items you didn't think of were there as well just in case; like umbrellas, books, a printer, etc. I was most surprised by the nice closet/laundry area in the back of the cottage. All in all, the setting was quiet, relaxing, and comfy and the flowers smelled great on the patio. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay and a nice easy vacation. This was me and my husband's 2nd stay in a vacation rental and it has further confirmed why I now really enjoy this type of lodging. Thanks again and we will definitely return to the cottage when we come back to San Diego some day.

Delightful Getaway In San Diego
Delightful Getaway In San Diego
We spent a week in San Diego and stayed at a wonderful VRBO property in the North Park area, near Balboa Park. The property had everything to make an extended stay for two people a delight. Comfort, privacy, waking access to Balboa Park and local restaurants. Or the ability to cook your own meals, if you choose. The owners were lovely and we enjoyed being part of a residential neighbourhood throughout the week. We would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to visit San Diego.

Perfection is theoretically impossible to achieve, but we feel this came close. We were winter-weary Seattleites in need of sunshine, dry and warm. The cottage's location in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood was great. We enjoyed walking through neighborhoods and admiring the yards and houses while on our way to coffee. We used the bbq to cook a couple dinners and picked a fresh lemon off their lemon tree to dress our salad...yum. The cottage is very charming, comfortable and well appointed. Before we left we were already talking about wanting to go back. Hosts Mike and Sharon were fabulous.
